I'm using autocad 2009 I Wrote the word multiplex auditorium using the mtext command.. but when i pressed enter, it got lost somewhere. using the find command [available in the edit menu] i can see it but cannot select it when i close the find dialogue. how can i search for this "multiplex auditorium" word and change its size using the mtext command..?
View 1 Repliesmy OS is Vista 64bit. i was using ACA2008 SP1 without any problems about a year.i decided to uninstall it and start using ACA2009.i have uninstalled ACA2008, 3dsmax2008 and other autodesk apps and removed some folders 'autodesk' and 'autodesk shared' from vista system folders.i also delete 'autodesk' from registry (LocalMachine/Software & CurrentUser/Software).then i installed ACA2009 64bit without any problems. after install i start it and there wasn't any problems (but i do not use any AEC objects, so i don't know if they was working).next i installed 3dsmax2009 & sp1 for it. max worked OK.then i installed sp1 for ACA2009. instalation was OK... but when i start working on a project i realised that AEC objects (wall,door, etc.) dont work at all ACA2009 starts OK without any warning or something...it loads at startup AECarchBase (and other AEC related stuff) but when you are trying to use any of wall,door,window it does do nothing... for example when you select wall from tools pallete it shows command 'WallAdd' in command line and then wall command ends without any warning or something...it also doesn't work from command line or menu the strange thing is when i uninstall ACA2009 and install ACA2008 again problem was also now in ACA2008 !!!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a site plan from another .dwg that I copied with base point and inserted into my .dwg as a block. To edit this block in my .dwg I Rt. Click-Edit Block in Place, then use the Refedit Toolbar to save my changes. It seems each time I edit the block the linework, circles, etc. are duplicated; resulting in several duplicate objects stacked on top of each other within my block. I exploded the block, used the drawing cleanup tool and it found 37,000+ duplicate objects to delete! This happened before in another .dwg. I am running AutoCAD Civil3D Land Desktop Companion 2009, I also have an EaglePoint plug-in that we use to download our data.

I've made three grading objects using "Grade to Relative Elevation" along a feature line. Then I've added a grading transition between them. This seems really unstable now, like making the wrong move makes the whole thing disappear...but what is strange is the feature line that is attached to the grading object that I have added into my surface remains, but there are only a few lines where the grading objects used to be, basically the line that seperates the different sections of grading.
There's no way to edit the grading again either, it has to be remade, because there is nothing to select.

I was wondering if there is a way to edit single line text when there are multiple objects selected. I have multiple text which need their justification edited but there are non-text items amongst them. Instead of clicking on each of them I would like to just select the area and then edit the text as required.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAt my office, we are experiencing a major malfunction with AutoCAD and server based files. I believe it is due to a server restructuring that occurred last week and we are having troubles since then.
Basically, on some drawings, all I need to do is select a HATCH object (of any size) and AutoCAD crashes. The same behavior is exhibited when editing an MTEXT object or, say, a dimension TEXT. I was also able to recreate the crash by typing STYLE, trying to edit the text STANDARD template, and essentially anything having to do with "simplex.shx."
I've got a problem following playing around (Typical, isn't it?). Architecture 2011 allows editing property sets from external objects through the host drawing (i.e. change a room number of a property set attached to a space xref'ed in from another construct). This obviously has to put an editing lock onto the xref to prevent data loss in case somebody else works on the xref in the meantime. This editing lock is removed when I close my host drawing. However, the lock is immediately restored when I re-open the host drawing.
How can I release the xref file lock again after editing the property sets in my host drawing?
I use to copy over a layer into a file. as a smart object, transform it. Then if I needed to replace the image. I would double click and the contents would open as a .psb file. I could then replace the image and save it and it was updated in the main comp file.
Now, if I double click I just get Camera Raw? If I choice edit SO same thing. Replace content lets me choose another file, but I don't have the open .psb which I could work on before saving it back.
What am I doing wrong now to not get the .psb to open and edit?
I embed a few raw files as smart objects when preparing pages for wedding albums. When I edit those smart objects (resize, move, etc) both my systems have 3 or 4 second lags with each change.

I was using a custom size of artboard in illustrator, but I now I want to change it to A4 size for printing. However, when I change it to a A4 size artboard, the size of objects on that artboard remain unchange. As a result these objects do not fit the new size of artboard. Are there any way that I can change both the size of artboard and objects at once?

After editing I choose to close and CC asks if I want to save the file.This is exactly like CS6 does but now in CC I am aked for a place on disk to save and the content of the original file is not updated.Is this normal behaviour or am I missing something?
When editing block in-place, not onely objects in the block, but also other objects (just drawn normal in modelspace), is affected by the commands.

My company is useing LDD2009, as well as map. when we make notations in our plans we use a block that is basicly a square with an attribute inside to represent a number, the nuber then corresponds to the same number and a description in a table.
Now, I have been asked to create / recreate (a)the block that would rotate per viewport, also; we are not usin dynamic leaders.
is there a way to either continue with the block or create a dynamic leader that would rotate per viewport, even in other drawings that have xrefs attached like Plan & Profile sheets that are separate drawings.
I'm not sure how autocad would handle the rotating as well as the location of the block and still have the leader point in the same place.

I have quite a few drawings in AutoCAD 2009 that have images attached. some of them print just fine and some wont print the image.
I inserted the image by the following: EditPaste SpecialPicture (Metafile) and they are tif files.
I have AutoCAD 2009. When I print a PDF, all the different layers come out looking the same. In other words, in my drawing I have layers that are say green and other layers that are cyan. Supposedly, the green layer is darker and thicker than the cyan layer. But when I print the PDF, all the layers come out with the same thickness and darkness.
But if I plot the DWG file, the lines show up the way they should be. The problem only happens when plotting PDF's.

Also, my memory bar indicator does not work, it just stays all grey.
Trying to do some bolt pattern center lines. Been doing them for years and can do them old school way. But was wondering if there is a better ways. If you put a circle from the center of the bolt circle to the center of the bolts and change it to center the hashes never line up. So I always do small center line sections on each bolt hole. Then array it around to cover the entire bolt circle. But that gets time consuming. I am now doing a lot of projects with bolt circles and wondered if there was a better method.

Test Adobe.pdf was created using "Adobe PDF" driver, paper size A3. Looks good except for the exta lines running through columns 1 and 9.
Test Dwg to.pdf was created using "dwg to PDF.pc3" driver, paper size ISO A3 (420x297mm). The excel portion looks good but it has cut off the border all around.
Border size is 410mm x 287mm.
Using Acrobat 9 Pro and MS Office 2010.
