Out of the blue, my Layer Control will not work. When I click on the icon, the top two lines on the screen go gray and the whole thing locks up. The layer palette does not appear. If I try to choose anything on the screen, it beeps. It unlocks if I hit escape. If I type in "layer" at the command line, the same thing happens. At this point, I am unable to change lineweights & colors within my layers settings.
View 2 Replieswhen I added a layer mask to a layer, it would display in the palette as the alpha channel, which was very handy. Now, when I add a layer mask, it only appears as the mask icon; i.e., gray square with white circle in the middle. I have no clue what I did to change from the one to the other, but I would certainly like to get the alpha representation back!

The drop down box does not access as many layers as did the version in 2009, and I find myself continually searching through the drop down box to reference a particular layer. How do I go about turning off the View, Viewport, and Visual style controls that appear in the upper left hand corner of my modelspace tab? And while I'm at it...how do I manage to get the ribbons suppressed as a default?
Apparently, Autodesk feels so strongly that everyone should be working off their ribbon menus that they turn them on every time the drawing editor is started. We don't, nor are we likely to, use ribbons.

In my tool palette is have some controls. In some systems entire palette is visible completely, but in some systems, the bottom controls in the palette are not visible where the system settings are different. Is there any option to display scroll bar in the tool palette automatically?
In ACA2008, can the display of each of the four edges of a cell in a table be controlled individually? I want left and right edges of cells to display, and top and bottom edges to not display. In the Cell Border Properties dialog box, I can set the Lineweight, Linetype, and Color of each edge, but I don't see how to set the visibility of each edge.

this is how i usually duplicate a layer, by dragging and dropping to the new layer icon at the bottom of the palette. it is not letting me do that.
also, when i select a a single, or group of layers and move them around in the palette, i thought it used.
I used to be able to select a layer (getting the Marching ants of a layer on a image) via the Layers palette (I think I used to press ctrl + mouse-click) but now, in Photoshop CS2, I can't get it to work.

How can I select a shape on a layer in PSD in the layers palette?
In my past version of PSD, I was able to simply click on the Layer and hold either select or control to have marching ants go around my image - but with CS2 I am not able to do that.
Right now I'm using at the same time AutoCAD 2009 and 2012 (trying the newest version). Thing is that I think that I screwed up both version from changing so much between them.
My problem is that when I click the Layer Properties Manager nothing happens, in both versions, the layer window should appear but it doesn't.
I click and hold on a tool in Photoshop CS 6 on the Mac and it takes 2-3 seconds for the submenu to display. All my mouse settings are towards the fast end. Illustrator CS6 displays them much quicker and previous versions of PS weren't this slow to display the submenus. Can I speed up the submenu (alternative tool) display?

I now need to include an option of displaying the palette (maybe by using a method to include this in the form or by shifting the focus to the coreldraw window/palette) and then the ability for the user to pick colors from this palette (which will then be passed to the script for further processing).
I'm working on Civil 3d 2012 and when it's set on Autocrad classic profile I can select my layers right in the drop down list by typing the first letter of the layer and it goes to it. But when my profile is set on Civil 3d, I can do the same in the layer drop down. Is there a way to set it like autocad classic?

It seems like this particular drawing has issues not seen elsewhere.(besides the fact it was badly drawn) After some time playing with all the settings. We turned on the zero layer and then all the nodes were available as usual.
i've been using AutoCad for 20 years and never seen this. Is this some kind of new feature?Can you control the snaps with a layer? WHY?

The layer control dropdown in the layer toolbar is just showing the state of the selected object or layer 0 if nothing is selected. Same for the ribbon combo. But it's working in the Quick properties dialog.

Is there a way to turn this off? If i am just looking at layers, I don't want autocad to change my current layer.

I am also not able through this layer control bar able to high light an object and use the fly out arrow to go into the layers and change this object to another desired layer for this object. View 3 Replies View RelatedIf you have more than one PDF overlay, you might put them on separate layers. Generally speaking in this case, the PDF extents overlap so when i plot different sheets, I would want only a single PDF to be visible.
So, my first thought was to freeze the layers of unwanted PDFs in the viewport. Except, once i did that, nothing happened. So, i guess i have to manually freeze the layer when plotting each sheet? I then can't publish the layouts as the appropriate PDF's won't be visible.
How I can get my drop-down Layer Control to alphabetize layer names? The listing of layer names is appears random to me:
When I open the Layer Properties dialouge box the layer names are alphabetized by name, so that works, but it doesn't translate over to Layer Control.
