AutoCAD Inventor :: ILogic Design Copy - Error Copying A File / Inventor Crashes
Nov 5, 2013I'm trying to use iLogic Design Copy to copy an assembly and all its associated parts to another directory. The assembly contains content center parts. Inventor warns me that the destination file of one of the CC parts (and 18 others) will be overwritten. When I go ahead and copy anyway, the copying process stops at that specific CC part. The Design Copy Progress dialog box states there is an error copying that CC part. When I close the Design Copy Progress dialog box, Inventor crashes.
The error copying the CC part: I'm allowed to use content center parts in iLogic Design Copied stuff, right? I searched some related topics and I'm under the impression that Inventor keeps the CC parts in its own directory and shouldn't be trying to overwrite them.

Jul 14, 2013PS 3d WILL NOT handle a standard 3d shape as a layer in a bigger file. If, for example, the surface of a simple cylinder is filled with a color and the file saved (so that the bigger 3d drawing/file/image will update) PS 3D crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME. That is not all. In general the program crashes about as often and unpredicatably as Windows 3.
The machine has 24G of RAM and can see about 16T of hard drive. nvidia 4000 card. Latest driver. Turning off the GPU does not eliminate the crashes. PS 3d gets totally confused and crashes when network connections are exercised so I don't do that. Win7. VERY FRUSTRATING. Makes the program useless. Adobe software updates all current.

Jun 5, 2006I need an easy way to fix a high contrast image such as an interior home shot where the windows are blown out and you can't see outside detail,but the interior is either correctly exposed or is underexposed. Basically what i need to do is combine the correctly exposed interior with the correctly exposed windows, showing correct exposure for both interior and exterior detail. To get the correct exposure i have been taking a shot in which i meter the windows, and without moving the camera, take another shot in which i meter the interior.
Here is where i get stuck. the way i've been doing it, which takes way too much time for my purposes, is to either use the magnetic lasso tool or the polygonal lasso tool to select the area of the properly exposed windows, and then cut and paste the selections to the other layer. The problem with this is,
it takes quite a while and i usually have to go back and do some cloning around the edges to fill in the spots that got missed, which takes alot of time as well, because it usually takes me several tries to get it right. Is there an easier way?

Mar 26, 2011After successfully using VideoStudio X2 for quite a while now, I’ve just updated VideoStudio X4.
My laptop meets the minimum specifications, however, I have just one problem with X4.
I can output to every file format including HD, but if I choose the 3D option, anaglyph or side by side, the program “crashes“.
I get 'the program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning' and 'the memory could not be read' errors. Both messages show 3 times each. The program will eventually close when I’ve OK’d all six messages.
I’ve tried different lengths of video, from short to long, but it makes no difference.
I don’t plan on doing loads of 3D videos, just the occasional short one for fun. Even though I find red/blue 3D video tiresome to watch, I would like to have a fully functioning program as everything else on X4 works like a dream.

Aug 18, 2012I open something with paint and then I do crop and copy the area. Then I open up another document and paste it. Now I am trying to blend it in. I think I can use layers. Create a new layer, then add a layer mask. Then, at least that's how I have seen it online, I can use the brush tool to make the background reappear around the letters ( letters in my case). But this does not work. The brush only paints it in the background color.

Aug 23, 2012Starting with X4, I had been using the macro collection "wx_showLayer.gms" found here: URL.... The most useful of those macros is one that automatically makes the layer a newly selected object is on the currently active layer, rigt upon clicking the object. Working with layers a lot, I got pretty much used to that feature; keeping copies of objects on the same layer, for example, can be achieved blindly this way.
For X6 / x64, I had to modify a variable declaration but then the macro worked flawlessly as it did in 32-bit X4. After the service pack / update 6.1, the macro still loaded without a hitch. But soon I found it was the cause for regular crashes which occurred after clicking objects oner two times, or invariably at changing the page. -- Removed the macro from the GMS folder and X6.1 runs like a champ (so far).

Using INV 2013 Professional . I cant attach the assembly as it is sensitive data.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Drawing File Crashes
Dec 2, 2013This morning I got to work and attempted to modify an existing drawing file per some requested changes. I figured I would open the drawing file and move some of the things around that I needed but were going to disappear after I edited the model. The end result was to remove some small items from the model and add two other small items to the model. There was some annotation in the drawing connected to the parts I was removing that I wanted to stay in the drawing file so I was editing the drawing file first. This is what happened and what I have tried since:
1.) When I went to copy a weld symbol from one view and paste it in another IV crashed.
2.) I rebooted, attempted again, IV crashed.
3.) I rebooted, attempted to add a new weld symbol and delete the other (instead of copy/paste), IV crashed.
4.) I installed the windows updates my computer was telling me I needed to install (.NET 4.5.1).
5.) I rebooted, attempted again, IV crashed.
6.) I attempted to add a weld symbol to a different drawings in a different project, success.
7.) I attempted to add a weld symbol to a different drawing file in the same project, success.
8.) I attempted the original process again, IV crashed.
9.) I attempted to open the assembly file referenced by the drawing file, success.
10.) I attempted to open a drawing file that references the same model file as well as others in a larger assembly, success.
11.) I removed parts from the assembly file that were no longer needed in the design, success.
12.) I attempted to open the original problematic drawing file, IV crashed.
13.) I attempted to open it again, IV crashed.
14.) I used pack-n-go to consolidate all of the files to upload for my support request.
15.) I attempted to open the pack-n-go drawing file on my laptop.... IT OPENED.
Now, every time I attempt to open the original drawing file on my workstation, IV immediately crashes. When I open the PNG drawing file on my laptop it works. What should my next step be?
I am afraid to go any further because this drawing file is very much needed, and so large and complicated that I do not want to just create the file again (6 sheets detailing a large tank). I also don't want to start copying and pasting the file that does work on my laptop and screw something up with the files on my workstation. And of course, this tank is scheduled to start fabrication today.

AutoCAD Inventor :: 2010 Crashes While Using IAssemblies
Mar 20, 2012We are currently still using Inventor2010. I realize that we are using a later version (trying to get boss to allow us to upgrade). I was wondering if that is where our issues stem from. At times when we create iAssemblies we have issues in which objects disappear and/or inventor crashes whenever we switch the tree to a different part number. If we try to place a sub-assembly file into an assembly file some parts seem to disappear. As a work around we have tried to place all components separately (omitting the sub-assembly file), and the file will still crash or objects disappear. Some of our files get a little large, but aren't really to complex. We have been having issues with this one file in particular and it has been redone several times by different users, on different work stations.

for example, i have a layer for dimenisioning called, 'DIM.' I'm not sure when it happens but AutoCad creates new layers that are called: DIM @ 12, DIM @16, DIM @ 18, DIM @ 128....It does this for different layers as well. There must be some significance of Autocad adding a @ # at the end of the layers name.
It then changes certain blocks from the regular layer, to these new ones. It doesn't affect any block consistently. So one block 'A' is changed to the new layers, but the other block 'A' is not changed.
The only thing I did differently for this drawing set was used dxfout/dxfin to purge dgn files out of my drawing, any possible connection there?

Sep 19, 2013I isolated layers to clear out a drawing, since then I have had nothing but hassle with locked layers, No matter how many times I unlock them, they lock up again, if I create a new layer it comes in locked, if I change a line to a differant layer it locks up, I have tried creating a few simple layers, then copying and pasting the layout into a new drg file, still the problem exists, it is costing me a lot of time having to keep doing this.

Mar 25, 2013I have been using this software for a few months now, and I continue to have crashing issues. The issues, however related, are not consistent. I tend to have issues when using more complex applications of the software such as crashes when performing a breakout view, freezing and then many times crashing when manipulating a part within an assembly drawing, and several other similar issues. I have received an update SP1.1 (176) and installed it. This update states it contains a fix for issues of crashing due to excessive memory consumption.
I have 6GB of RAM, nVidia Quadro FX 3800 1GB graphics card, Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz processor, and updated drivers...

Here is how my iLogic works.

Now as soon as the last line is executed, Inventor crashes.
But when I go to the save file part (C:MyPath), both the parts and assembly files are saved and if I open it, they work just fine.
I just can't get inventor to stop crashing.
