View 9 RepliesI'm trying to use iLogic Design Copy to copy an assembly and all its associated parts to another directory. The assembly contains content center parts. Inventor warns me that the destination file of one of the CC parts (and 18 others) will be overwritten. When I go ahead and copy anyway, the copying process stops at that specific CC part. The Design Copy Progress dialog box states there is an error copying that CC part. When I close the Design Copy Progress dialog box, Inventor crashes.
The error copying the CC part: I'm allowed to use content center parts in iLogic Design Copied stuff, right? I searched some related topics and I'm under the impression that Inventor keeps the CC parts in its own directory and shouldn't be trying to overwrite them.
The crash happens everytime I try to open iProperties from the .iam(Assembly) that I use it in. The only other .ipts I use in the .iam is two small rings. I can open iProperties for the .ipt if I open the .ipt for it self, thou I have .iams that use .ipts that are nearly similar to the one causing the crash, that open iProperties just fine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using PDSU 2014 Ultimate. 90% of the time I go to save an assembly, Inventor crashes and comes up with an error report.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an assembly, very simple with only 20 parts max. No components are 'foreign' (all created within Inventor). I had run a few analysis on it yesterday and everything was good. Today I opened up the assembly and attempted to go into the FEA and then the program crashes. No warnings or anything.
Using INV 2013 Professional . I cant attach the assembly as it is sensitive data.
This morning I got to work and attempted to modify an existing drawing file per some requested changes. I figured I would open the drawing file and move some of the things around that I needed but were going to disappear after I edited the model. The end result was to remove some small items from the model and add two other small items to the model. There was some annotation in the drawing connected to the parts I was removing that I wanted to stay in the drawing file so I was editing the drawing file first. This is what happened and what I have tried since:
1.) When I went to copy a weld symbol from one view and paste it in another IV crashed.
2.) I rebooted, attempted again, IV crashed.
3.) I rebooted, attempted to add a new weld symbol and delete the other (instead of copy/paste), IV crashed.
4.) I installed the windows updates my computer was telling me I needed to install (.NET 4.5.1).
5.) I rebooted, attempted again, IV crashed.
6.) I attempted to add a weld symbol to a different drawings in a different project, success.
7.) I attempted to add a weld symbol to a different drawing file in the same project, success.
8.) I attempted the original process again, IV crashed.
9.) I attempted to open the assembly file referenced by the drawing file, success.
10.) I attempted to open a drawing file that references the same model file as well as others in a larger assembly, success.
11.) I removed parts from the assembly file that were no longer needed in the design, success.
12.) I attempted to open the original problematic drawing file, IV crashed.
13.) I attempted to open it again, IV crashed.
14.) I used pack-n-go to consolidate all of the files to upload for my support request.
15.) I attempted to open the pack-n-go drawing file on my laptop.... IT OPENED.
Now, every time I attempt to open the original drawing file on my workstation, IV immediately crashes. When I open the PNG drawing file on my laptop it works. What should my next step be?
I am afraid to go any further because this drawing file is very much needed, and so large and complicated that I do not want to just create the file again (6 sheets detailing a large tank). I also don't want to start copying and pasting the file that does work on my laptop and screw something up with the files on my workstation. And of course, this tank is scheduled to start fabrication today.

We are currently still using Inventor2010. I realize that we are using a later version (trying to get boss to allow us to upgrade). I was wondering if that is where our issues stem from. At times when we create iAssemblies we have issues in which objects disappear and/or inventor crashes whenever we switch the tree to a different part number. If we try to place a sub-assembly file into an assembly file some parts seem to disappear. As a work around we have tried to place all components separately (omitting the sub-assembly file), and the file will still crash or objects disappear. Some of our files get a little large, but aren't really to complex. We have been having issues with this one file in particular and it has been redone several times by different users, on different work stations.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using this software for a few months now, and I continue to have crashing issues. The issues, however related, are not consistent. I tend to have issues when using more complex applications of the software such as crashes when performing a breakout view, freezing and then many times crashing when manipulating a part within an assembly drawing, and several other similar issues. I have received an update SP1.1 (176) and installed it. This update states it contains a fix for issues of crashing due to excessive memory consumption.
I have 6GB of RAM, nVidia Quadro FX 3800 1GB graphics card, Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz processor, and updated drivers...
I seem to have my task accomplished, but Inventor crahes on me after it is done.
Here is how my iLogic works.
' Deleting the suppressed parts from the assembly
Dim compDef as AssemblyComponentDefinition
compDef = ThisDoc.ComponentDefinition
Dim compOcc as ComponentDefinition
For Each compOcc in compDef
[Code] ........
Now as soon as the last line is executed, Inventor crashes.
But when I go to the save file part (C:MyPath), both the parts and assembly files are saved and if I open it, they work just fine.
I just can't get inventor to stop crashing.
Yesterday inventor worked fine, I made 3 new parts. But today when I wanted to put these parts together in an assembly and I try opening a new file, inventor crashes?
I still can open projects, but can't create a new project.
PS. I'm using Inventor 2014 Student Version with service pack 1 on Windows 8.1
Crashes on a simple extrusion... VERY basic spline...
(When I click extrude... I doubt it's even a complete closed shape yet)
I had both Inventor 2012 and 2013 (and entire Product design suite of both program versions) installed on my Win 7 64 bit Dell Precision Laptop, all working flawlessly. On recieving a copy of 2014 I decided to uninstall Inventor 2012 which I carried out through Add/Remove programs in Windows 7. Then I tried to launch Inventor 2013 and got an 0xc0000005 system error as per attachment 1.
I then went through the entire removal process to completely remove Autodesk products to do a fresh install of Autodesk 2014. This worked out and I did everything exactly as suggested here... [URL]
Then I disabled my Avast virus checker and stopped the process via task manager.
I then did a complete fresh install by right clicking on the Setup file on the Product design Suite 2014 dongle and choosing "open as administator" which I started without any issues. The installation then stopped while installing INventor 2014 with a 1406 error as per attachment 2. I searched the registry for the file mentioned in attachment 2 and deleted it from the registry and clicked retry and the installation finished without any further errors. I then restarted my computer and launched Inventor and again I recieved the 0xc0000005 error.
I then updated Inveontor with the DL21503391 update 1 from here... [URL]
I then updated 360.
I then tried to relaunch Inventor by right clicking and choosing "run as administrator" and proceeded to get the error 0xc0000005 as per attachement 1.
Obviously uninstalling 2012 is where the system 0xc0000005 issue began. I am trying to avoid a fresh Win 7 install.
Every so often when I open 2013 inventor it freezes at the startup window. the "progress bar" at the bottom gets about 75% across, then freezes. If I click on the window it, a dialog box appears that will let me close the program or check online for a solution. It has happened on all 7 machines here.

I recently updated to Inventor Professional 2014.
The problem I encounter is that Inventor crashes sometimes when I turn the realistic view mode on.
Also the rendering in realistic view mode is much slower than with Inventor 2013.
Are there some ray tracing options that I need to set up?
I have installed ATI Firepro 2250 (256 MB) Graphics Card with my Dell T5500 Workstation. When we are open Inventor its crash automatically & shows error report send notification. I have send many times this report but no reply. I have worked Inventor 2010 all service pack applied.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with Tube & Pipe in a particular assembly. Every time I start up the tool Inventor (2014) crashes. I have used the tool since on other assemblies and it works fine.
I didn't want to use the solution in this post yet since it does seem to only affect one assembly;

I have a frame generator model that won't update without crashing. I made a small change to the geom and can't get the model to update without a crash. No error message. I have restored (no vault) yesterdays version without success. Same crash. I have edited the geom to it's pre problem state. Same crash.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter downloading the Autodesk Inventor 2013, I was forced to download the hotfix. I completed the download, and started up Inventor. My force closed crash report directed me to the most updated update, which I then installed to no avail. I've sent an additional crash report, but I've yet to recieve any feedback. When I go to either load the .ipt blank file, or even close the welcome center tab (to be able to access the tools to troubleshoot) It shuts down.

We have used Inventor 2010 with PSP 2011.
- Recently we have upgrade to Inventor 2012.
- Installed pspro_cad_fp_10.0.39.3 update for PSP Server and for PSP Clients.
And now, some drawings we can not open in Inventor 2012. Inventor crashes!
But some drawings we are lucky to be able to open and work with.
Drawings have the same template.
If the drawing is locked (read only) then inventor 2012 can open it without a crash.
If I drag&drop drawing out from PSP onto my Desktop, Inventor 2012 can open drawing without problems.
So we are not able to work with some drawings in Inventor 2012 and PSP 2011.
As the first and quick (and 100%) solution - rollback to Inventor 2010 can cost us about 5 man-days of work. (Because we have done some work in Inventor 2012 allready and will not be able to work with this in Inventor 2010)
I just installed Inventor 2013 (First Mistake) and when I attempt to creat a breakout view, Inventor crashes. The folks at Autodesk are blaming this on my machine running multiple threads. Aren't all modern computers supposed to be running multiple threads?

Then suddenly I crash to desktop at least 90 percent of the time when I select "place from content center" it starts to load then, desktop.

I'm having a problem with the files saved from Inventor, regardless of type. I have no problem saving new files or opening files, however, any time I try and save changes to a file, inventor crashes. Also if I try and move a file, windowes explorere gets stuck at "descovering items." Renaming a file crahses explorer.
One of the files is attached.
I am having a problem with Inventor 2013. Every time I run/edit then run an iLogic rule my Inventor crashes. I have sent the report in to autodesk, but I need a fix for now.
I have tried a soft reboot, hard reboot, only opening inventor while no other programs are running, disconnection from the internet, etc.
I have a situation where a teacher in our PLTW(Project Leads The Way) who uses inventor products for sometime is not able to save a old current project or make changes to this project, then save it. What is happening is it gives a blue screen error and corrupts the file so it cannot be fixed or opened. We cannot duplicate the process with the teacher, but we can if the file is opened on another computer and it is opened also on another computer at the same time as other pc. However, the teacher states that he doesn't have it open on any other PCs in the school.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt works fine with other parts, and I've created & deleted the flat pattern for this part before, but for some reason, it now won't work.
It won't let me upload the file, as it's too big, so I'm going to try uploading it in parts...
About three days ago Inventor 2013 started crashing whenever I tried to drag a subassembly into position. I got a message telling me to install SP1. I did this; but the crashing continues to occur. I can use assembly constraints to move my subassembly around but this is cumbersome.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAutodesk Inventor Professional 2011 will crash when we try open a 3D model (Inventor Component) as a Baseline View for a new "Drawing" file.
To replicate the error, we draw a simple Circle and extrude it so it is then a 3D Model. We then create a new "Drawing" file, click the Baseline View button at the top left, and then select the 3D Model Inventor file (the extruded circle). The program crashes and we get the following error from Autodesk Software, NOT Windows.

This is for our college... students need to perform this action for their exam. We have had success using the same software and OS configuration, along with the same steps listed above, on different machines on campus. Not sure what is causing the error on these machines.
When I try to run a stress analysis on my model my video driver keeps crashing. I have updated my driver and downloaded the patch from the auto desk website. In addition I have played around with the visual settings on my computer and nothing works. I attached my computers specs.
