Dec 30, 2012I want to add serial number in the documents I am making to protect it from piracy... Or no, rather easier way to spot the pirate if I find my pattern floating somewhere..
To make it condensed I would like to use hexadecimal digits. So I can add a small serie of digits on a pattern piece (the pieces are tiny, averaging at about 4-5 cm, filled with information) so this is my reason of why I want hexadecimals.
I will stuff it with six digit groups for different identifiers and then revision numbers too.
On every document copy, that is, pattern sheet I would like to repeat the same digit about 4-6 times, on the major pattern pieces, and on one license paper. So the digits needs to be identical on these 4-6 times.
But of course incrementing for each copy of the pattern sheet.
Let's say the serie is 1.01.0001-00.00.00 this is the format I am going to use. All the digits could be entered manually if it has to be done but at least the 4 digits group should be automated, and hexadecimal.

Aug 29, 2012I have created a drawing from the parametric model assembly where i have clevis, lug plate and pin arrgt.
the model has been generated using the input excel spreadsheet where i have given the inputs like clevis thk, lug thk,pin dia etc.,
while creating the drawing partlist i have included the column of clevis thk, lug thk etc., using the iproperty, but these columns are coming separately, i just want the thk of clevis and lug in the same column so that i will make Bom for the assembly.
How to get the parametric inputs in the same column of the patlist in drawing.

Sep 20, 2013When i insert a partlist in a drawing the insert point of the partlist is in the upper right corner? i want the insertpoint in the lower right corner, because i know the height of our titleblock. Then i will allways be able to possition the partlist right above the titleblock. I never know how heigh the partlist is because the amount of parts in the partlist is different every time. Is it possible to change the partlist insertpoint to the lower right corner of the partlist when its inserted via the API?

This 30MB TIFF came in a separate folder (eTransmit) and the path is correct, but i cannot seem to grab the image in model space. the layer that has the xref is not frozen, and i can see the xref in the properties box and unload/load/detach, however i am unable to select or grab it. Was this done intentionally by the author to keep the image intact or is this property of transmitting?
2. The drawing coordinates is appearing in scientific notation and i need them to display all 9 digits. How do i change this?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Add Box Around Note Number?
Nov 21, 2013I am creating a drawing that has some 40+ notes on it. Maybe half of these notes need to have a square, squircle, or some shape around them so I can later use that same shape enclosed number to point to a feature on the drawing that it is referencing. In the past when I had fewer notes I would just use the user symbols and losely place the squircle number in line with the other text and then use that same squircle number to point to the desired feature. The problem it is hard to align everything properly and if I move the text I then need to move the squircles.
In Pro/E I remember being able to type "@[1@]" and it would create a box around 1 in the text. Is there anything similar in Inventor?

In addition we group components to have a special item number... Meaning hardware like washer, bolts, and etc. to start with 500 series number.. Piping components would be 800 series...

Dec 2, 2008I want to use the AddBorder method to add a custom Border to a sheet. As I see in the end, the newly added border does not have the zone parameteres set - the result 0 horizontal zones/0 vertical zones.
If I use the add border functionality that Inventor provides, the zones are not null.
I tried to find a way to specify these parameteres, but I found that they can be specified only on DefaultBorder.

I've found a tool for this from Rene J and it does changes the borders but the zones are coming up empty.
