Is there a way to export properties such as Moment of inertial to Partlist or use it as a customer property?

iLogic has the capabilities to access the physical properties of part files such as mass / area / volume etc. ilogic syntax to read the inertial properties of the part file such as Global Ixx / Iyy / Izz??
I can find it in the API help, but i don't really want to write it as separate code, just want to simply access it through iLogic interface.

Is there a way to reset changes in a partlist. If I have changed in partlist, the changes in BOM can't be shown in partlist. I don't want any "blue" fields in the partlist, they are static.

When I make a frame, with framegerator the size (80 x 80 x 2) is placed in QTY field, i want to have 1 in quantity and then I place the dimension =<G_H> x <G_W> <G_L> in my own dimension field ! how can I change it, so i don't have 80x80x3 in the quantity field ?

I have created a drawing from the parametric model assembly where i have clevis, lug plate and pin arrgt.
the model has been generated using the input excel spreadsheet where i have given the inputs like clevis thk, lug thk,pin dia etc.,
while creating the drawing partlist i have included the column of clevis thk, lug thk etc., using the iproperty, but these columns are coming separately, i just want the thk of clevis and lug in the same column so that i will make Bom for the assembly.
How to get the parametric inputs in the same column of the patlist in drawing.
I've made a partlist with these columns:
Item, qty, stock number, part number, description, standard.
stock number, part number and description can me changed in iproperties of the ipt file.
But where can i change standard?
how to filtering a part list use view by assembly drawing, with VBA editor or iLOGic code.
there is no class system in API for filter in partlist class use views filter.

i want to get automation system for my inventor design.
When i insert a partlist in a drawing the insert point of the partlist is in the upper right corner? i want the insertpoint in the lower right corner, because i know the height of our titleblock. Then i will allways be able to possition the partlist right above the titleblock. I never know how heigh the partlist is because the amount of parts in the partlist is different every time. Is it possible to change the partlist insertpoint to the lower right corner of the partlist when its inserted via the API?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd like to know how inventor defines the center of rotation when you apply moment load on multiple faces at once. I'm not basically able to define where exactly I need that axis to be. and I dont understand where inventor assumes that axis is. if you take a look at attached model, obviously the resultant forces caused by the applied moment are bigger on the single pillar located on the extention, thats why its been displaced more than the others, but where exactly is center of rotation. I'm trying to avoid modeling of the section above this which technically transfers the moment thorough shear pins on the structure I have modeled.

I am trying to determine the moment of inertia of an L-section using IV 2009. By selecting Tools>Region Properties of a closed loop profile in the sketch environment the moment of inertia is given, however the principal axes through the centroid are at 45 degrees to the toe of the angle (see attached image). I want Ixx and Iyy where the X and Y axes are parallel to the horizontal and vertical toe respectively.
Coincidentally, AutoCAD orientates the principal axes the same when viewing the Region Mass Properties of a similar Region.
I have a problem with Inventor pro 2013 rounding of the area moment of inertia to zero (region properties). For example if I create a new sketch and draw a 1 mm x 0.5 mm rectangle and measure the area moment of inertia it will be 0 for one of the pricipal axes. If I change the rectangle to 1 mm x 0.6 mm it doesn't round it off. Seems like there's a problem with the precision in the calculations somehow.
I have tried to change the document units to microns but the same thing happens.
is there a way to make inventor do this calculation correctly?
I created the gear (helical) in the attached file using the standard gear tool in inventor. The problem is how do i then find the mass moment of inertia of it using Inventor?

So I want to know what other Inventor and Vault users are doing to get model properties into Inventor drawings: Using model properties in the title block and nothing to extract in Vault or Copy model properties so Vault has data to extract.

I would like to know if there is some way I can export (as ESRI shapefile) AECC alignment objects (waterlines) as lines/polylines and preserve associated data (flow direction and station label info) as field attributes associated with the lines/polylines. I am not sure if there is elevation data associated with the alignments, but would want to preserve that data too if it is available.

I ran into a problem with my dimensions. Everything worked just fine until suddenly, in model tab, every new dimension i wanted to draw, looked like this (see .jpg attatchment). I didnt modify anything. Just changed to layout tab for a moment and then back to model. When i changed the text height into 10x bigger just to see the difference, the white dimension line just got wider and thats it.

We are running Revit 11 on windows 7 64bit, and we have been having this problem at the moment the local file tries to synchronize with central, revit hangs up and we get stuck in the windows timer circle (which we have dubed the circle of death) as the only way to get back or out of it is to cold boot the system.

I am aware of the situation but this has become an issue where I have to edit some photos for a pro lab output. The monitor has been calibrated and delta E is less than 0.5, which is okay.
Attached is the print screen of PS at one moment, vs the print screen of PS at another moment (they were layered and mask applied). Dragging the image U/D/L/R also shows the colour one or another. This becomes quite an issue since I had no way of telling whether I am seeing the correct color, especially when I am soft proofing or converting color profiles for final output.
I've been trying to figure out if it's an object naming thing, or is there a way to not pause between loops?

Also, I get an error message when I go into my CUI to try to modify the quick properties tab. Pretty frustrating. I've attached a couple of images for reference. I've repaired, re-installed and unistalled and re-installed and still have the same probelm.

Somehow the Properties Palette has gotten less wide- such that I can't read teh actual properties. Previously I was able to make it wider just by hovering over it, clicking on an arrow and dragging it wider. Not now.
