We are running Revit 11 on windows 7 64bit, and we have been having this problem at the moment the local file tries to synchronize with central, revit hangs up and we get stuck in the windows timer circle (which we have dubed the circle of death) as the only way to get back or out of it is to cold boot the system.
View 7 RepliesI am having an issue syncing to a central file over a vpn connection. I am able to vpn into a consultant's network and I am able to access the folder structure of the network by typing in an IP address into file explorer. I have mapped the network connection and I am able to consistently access the files. At the consultants office the files are located on NAS device and they access the device using the following nomenclature. \devicenamefolder. I access the same device with the following nomenclature. \ipaddressfolder. When I open the central file, the central file thinks that it has moved and is informing me to save the file as a new central file or a local file.
I am not a network guy but does this have something to do with the central file being saved with a unc path vs an ip address?? Is there a work around for this? Does the vpn need to be configured differently or does the consultant just need to save the central file by using the ip name?
I would like to get the moment of inertia of a deck slab of a bridge on the hatched areas. How can i do it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem where Photoshop does not always give me accurate color display all the time. I am aware of the situation but this has become an issue where I have to edit some photos for a pro lab output. The monitor has been calibrated and delta E is less than 0.5, which is okay.
Attached is the print screen of PS at one moment, vs the print screen of PS at another moment (they were layered and mask applied). Dragging the image U/D/L/R also shows the colour one or another. This becomes quite an issue since I had no way of telling whether I am seeing the correct color, especially when I am soft proofing or converting color profiles for final output.
I've been trying to figure out if it's an object naming thing, or is there a way to not pause between loops?

Everything worked just fine until suddenly, in model tab, every new dimension i wanted to draw, looked like this (see .jpg attatchment). I didnt modify anything. Just changed to layout tab for a moment and then back to model. When i changed the text height into 10x bigger just to see the difference, the white dimension line just got wider and thats it.

I'm not basically able to define where exactly I need that axis to be. and I dont understand where inventor assumes that axis is. if you take a look at attached model, obviously the resultant forces caused by the applied moment are bigger on the single pillar located on the extention, thats why its been displaced more than the others, but where exactly is center of rotation. I'm trying to avoid modeling of the section above this which technically transfers the moment thorough shear pins on the structure I have modeled.

I am trying to determine the moment of inertia of an L-section using IV 2009. By selecting Tools>Region Properties of a closed loop profile in the sketch environment the moment of inertia is given, however the principal axes through the centroid are at 45 degrees to the toe of the angle (see attached image). I want Ixx and Iyy where the X and Y axes are parallel to the horizontal and vertical toe respectively.
Coincidentally, AutoCAD orientates the principal axes the same when viewing the Region Mass Properties of a similar Region.
I have a problem with Inventor pro 2013 rounding of the area moment of inertia to zero (region properties). For example if I create a new sketch and draw a 1 mm x 0.5 mm rectangle and measure the area moment of inertia it will be 0 for one of the pricipal axes. If I change the rectangle to 1 mm x 0.6 mm it doesn't round it off. Seems like there's a problem with the precision in the calculations somehow.
I have tried to change the document units to microns but the same thing happens.
is there a way to make inventor do this calculation correctly?
Is there a way to export properties such as Moment of inertial to Partlist or use it as a customer property?

I'm evaluating Lightroom 5 during the 30 day trial and it's all cool except for this one big annoyance that I noticed immediately when trying to work on an image in Develop module. As stated in the title, moving any slider (exposure, highlights, noise reduction, etc.) causes the image to go very blurry for the duration of the slider movement. It goes immediately back to being sharp as soon as I stop moving the slider. This is super annoying, feels as though my eyes are going bad.
What's interesting is that the problem doesn't show up when I'm adjusting the Tone Curve directly, but it will get triggered if I'll expand and use the sliders underneath. So looks like a bug that only applies to sliders.
This doesn't happen at all in Lightroom 4.4, which I still have installed and can compare side-by-side.
As for the hardware, I'm using the 2013 Macbook Air with 1.3 GHz i5 CPU and 8 GB of RAM. The OS X version is 10.8.4 with all latest upgrades installed.
I've already tried optimizing the catalog, giving it more space (currently at 3 GB) and purging it. I'm not using Smart Previews, although I've turned them on for a moment to see if the problem persists with them on - it does. I've also re-rendered the 1:1 preview for the specific image I've been trying it on. Btw, the file is a NEF from Nikon D300 and I'm using the 2012 process (as was the case with LR4). Not sure what else might be relevant here.
I created the gear (helical) in the attached file using the standard gear tool in inventor. The problem is how do i then find the mass moment of inertia of it using Inventor?

A few days ago I noticed that my syncing isnt working properly and it is making what is supposed to be a quick workflow take forever. I import with a preset, then change contrast, blacks and such then sync all of the images with that. (this is the exact same process I have always used and I havent had any issues before) Only a few images actually sync, then I have to keep changing the settings to get back to what I originally synced to....I thought that I must have accidentally changed one of the settings or something, but when I tried it on my other computer, the exact same thing happened...

If I add all these Fonts Into my computer Is that going to slow down my computer ?
Am I doing something wrong when setting up the menu and rendering a DVD? Everything sounds perfect/ lines up when I view it in my timeline but after it is burned to a DVD the sound is off by 2-3 seconds. It's only a 15 min video.

Then when I click on the Download My Themes button I get this:
Now I know I am not offline becasue I can still go on to the Kuler website and get themes and my login apears in the box above the Download button.
So how do I browse themse and get them in to Illustrator with in the application?
I have two big issues with syncing edits between my iMac (computer A) and Macbook Pro (computer B). My workflow has been as follows:
Import photo shoot onto computer A as DNG into master catalog. Do some edits. Export all DNGs as "Original" from shoot to desktop and copy over to computer B. Import shoot folder in master catalog on computer B, edits are held. Finish editing the entire shoot on B and export folder as a catalog without exporting the DNG files. Back on computer A, import to shoot folder from another catalog to sync edits and metadata changes.
My issues:
1. When edits actually do sync back on A, everything syncs EXCEPT for virtual copies, they are no where to be found. Even when exporting from B as a catalog, the dialogue box says "79 virtual copies to be exported." They just never show up back on computer A.
2. Biggest issue. On computer A, I work in one master catalog. Some shoot folders are still on the internal hard drive while most are housed on a Drobo. It seems the reason why edits will never sync back (changes arent found when importing from another catalog) is because LR4 is only looking on the INTERNAL disk of computer A. The import seems to not look for the photos that are housed on the Drobo. I think this because whenever I try to import back to A, LR4 tries to create a new folder in the catalog on the internal disk. The below screenshot shows what I mean. 0512-SpeedyFamily is the shoot Im editing between A & B, but LR4 tries to import them back onto the internal disk (upper portion of folders) and created the ?2012 folder.
I am running LR 4.2 on both machines, just havent installed the latest update yet.
I have a timing problem when exporting slideshows to video, they just drift out of sync. Using 'fit to music' the preview syncs perfectly but the pictures overrun by about 4% when exported to an MP4 file. I can correct this by clipping the show and dissolve times manually but that means doing the maths and rendering it out (several times) to get it perfect.

But now I'm experiencing an error when attempting to sync with CC from Adobe Premiere Pro. Every time I tell Premiere to 'Sync Now', from any machine I get the popup message: "Syncing Settings Failed"
The software notes that the last successful sync was on the day I installed & ran the software for the first time. I'm logged into my Creative Cloud account, and logged into Adobe Premiere Pro ..
I am editing footage for a nonprofit and they gave me footage of an interview that is an MPEG Movie, 1920 x 1080, Frame Rate: 29.97 and Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0. There is no in camera audio, but there was audio recorded separately in a .wav file. The interview was shot on a Canon 60D and I created a sequence from the .MOV file off the camera and put in the separate audio file. The problem is when I sync the beginning it will stay in sync for about 2 seconds before it slowly gets off sync the longer it runs. The video doens't look like it is running fast, but I have to slow it to almost 80% before the audio even matches for more than a second. I don't understand why they will not sync up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just tried to sync my presets to the Cloud, and now all of my presets are gone. They are also gone from the folder on my hard drive. It appears the "sync" decided that what was on the cloud was the "current" state which I assume is the default set that is installed with PS CC. I can get most of them back because they are still in my CS6 folder, but the syncing thing would really be nice since I work on two different machines. preferences seems correct and it's set to always ask when there are conflicts.

I would like to use a seperate audio recorder to record the audio of the wedding while I do the video on my camcorder. Then import the seperate audio track into VS X4 and sync it up with the video. The reason I am going to this extra trouble is that the built-in microphones on my camcorder are not that great unless I am "up close and personal" with the subject of the video. I have tried a short clip using an old MP3 player that records mono sound files and it appears to work well for the short video clip. What about with a longer clip, say up to an hour? If so, were there any problems keeping the video and audio tracks in sync?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the latest version of Autodesk 360 and I am using Autocad LT 2014.
There seems to be no pattern for when the Sync gets stuck, but occasionally Autodesk 360 will sync indefinitely and it causes AutoCAD to run extremely slow. Restarting the computer fixes it but it has been happening a few times every week. I have attached my ADSync.log file for review.
Since I have decided to use the 'sync settings online' however now when I try to open 13 or 14 stall on opening the only way I can get round it is by opening windows task manager and ending the 'acSettingSync.exe' and the 'acCloudManager.exe'. This doesn't work everytime but 75% of the time.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using photoshop elements 12 organizer as well as revel on multiple computers and an ipad. Revel syncs perfectly across all devices including elements. Changes made in elements organizer though, do not. They used to, but have inexplicably stopped. New pics don't upload, additions to albums don't sync, tags don't either.
Revel agent says checking for changes and sometimes says up to date. I've restarted the agent and the computer a gazillion times - nothing doing!
I recently upgraded to Elements 11, and my iPad to OS7. I tried to synch new albums via iTunes and it did not work.
