AutoCAD Inventor :: Missing Hatch / Fill Command
Aug 17, 2012Somehow, in sketch mode, under the draw panel, I have lost the Hatch/Fill command. I've spent several hours searching, and cannot find a way to get it back.

View 4 RepliesAny command to fill in a little gap of missing material when you extrude one surface at the angle to the other. It's easy when it's a flat surface to just extrude in the othe direction, but with 3D loft it's not as much fun. See pic attached.
View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing Inventor 2013 and having issues with the fill/hatch region feature. I inserted my company logo on our custom border i am making and need to fill the logo in with colors to match our autocad verison borders. I go to click on fill/hatch region button and it doesnt do nothing and wont let me do nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to fill an area with hatch patterns in a feature sketch (ipt sketch), not in idw sketch?
I want to show a safety screen (wire mesh) in a 3D model, in order to reduce the file size, I do not want to do solid wire mesh in the model, but the sketch only. I was drawing one by one line and make a hatch cross lines in the sketch, it took me lots of time to draw these lines.
Just downloaded Autocad 2013 and am missing quite a few of the standard hatches (siding, soldier, board and batten, etc.) What should I do to get them back. When I open old drawings with these hatches in them, they load just fine...but I am unable to hatch any new areas with these hatches (because they are not listed in the hatch library)
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've migrated from 2005 to 2014 LT and wondered if they have added to the hatch commands. I've looked and haven't found anything. Is there a command that you can pick a hatch pattern already shown on the drawing and make that pattern the existing one to use? I sometimes have multiple hatch patterns and scales, and wanted a quick way to go from one to another without lisp help.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently switched to Inventor 2012 from a previous version. I cannot find the create flat pattern command. Some of my coworkers were able to customize their RMB menu to have this command, but I am not even able to do that! (They don't have the command on the ribbon, either.)
I attached a picture of my sheet metal ribbon...
I want to show Cut & Fill volume in Different Hatch patterns (Excluding Solid Hatch).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to hatch most anything without problem. Now with Civil 3d 2011 anything more complex that a box or a circle AutoCAD will not find the boundary even when the quick preview seems to find a boundary.
I've tried overlapping the lines and then trimming. I've tried extending to the other lines. I've tried setting the tolerance to 1/2". I've checked that the lines are snapped to endpoints and meet cleanly.
In testing I've found that sometimes it will find the boundary, and other times it will not even when nothing has changed? Noticing that they have to try multiple times and methods to get C3D 2011 to hatch correctly?
The attached file shows the different results (boundaries extracted from successful hatches) that I'm seeing, and sometimes can't find a boundary at all, sometimes it does. Seems to get different results when I regent and at different zooms (not sure if that's the correct terminology?).
I have a hatched area (A wall with a column inside wall). I deleted the column and now its place is void (no hatch). How can I extend the hatch pattern to fill the column location as well?
I read some threads about associative or non-associative hatch areas, but I don't think that could solve my problem.
I'm trying to use the hatch command on a drawing. Everything seems to work fine, but when I hit enter after having used the hatch command, selected pick points etc. nothing happens on the drawing. There are no error messages.
I can use hatch without problems on other drawings so I suspect it has something to do with the drawing or I've overlooked a setting or two.
I need to add a hatch fill polyline area but leave the text island out. What I did is put put Polyline ID and Text island ID into an ObjectIDCollection. The code doesn't throw any error but I can't see the hatch.
Public Function AutoCADAddHatch(ByRef newAddedHatch As Hatch, ByRef HatchElementIDs As ObjectIdCollection, ByVal HatchColour As Autodesk.AutoCAD.Colors.Color,
_ ByVal HatchLayerName As String, Optional ByVal PatternName As String = "SOLID", Optional ByRef strError As String = "") As Boolean
Dim db As Database = acApp.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument.Database

I am unable to fill objects with any sort of hatch in my current drawing. Other drawings are fine, but in this one, nothing will hatch, either form the tool palettes option or from the hatch menu.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if there is a lisp that would run every time I run the hatch command? I have autosave on, but I never remember to do a good clean save before I run hatch. I remember as autocad locks up and crashes! I would like a list that would prompt me to save when I hit hatch with option of yes, save or cancel. is this a tall order?

what might be causing this?
When in the hatch command in 2012 I go to select the layer I want to use, but only some of them appear in alphabetical order, and the rest seem to be all over the place making it quite difficult to find the layer I want. I've tried increasing the maxsort figure, but it makes no difference. How to make them appear in the correct order?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am not sure when but at some point my solid hatch went missing from my CAD is there anyway to get it back? Where would I download this hatch pattern from?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded our office from 2010 (architecture package) to 2011 and I was very excited to use the new hatch improvements, but whenever I try to use the hatch command I don't get the contextual tab. I tried playing around with HPDLGMODE, and I can get the old style dialog box, but I was really looking forward to having all that on the ribbon. I looked in the CUI and I found the hatch creation one, and it's empty. I also noticed that many other contextual tabs are empty. I think maybe it's because of some setting I had it import from my previous release maybe?
We have multiple seats where I work (I'm in charge of everything computer related) and mine is the only one where this happens. Everyone one else that I set up has the contextual tab.
Should I just reinstall it without pulling in my settings and re-build my ribbon the way I had it?
We are facing the problem of FATAL error while giving the HATCH command while using AutoCAD 2014 LT
We have successfully installed it on system and reinstalled it many times still the same problem , have attached the file for refrence.
Operating system is Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
whenever you use the hatch command sends the message fatal mistake and closes the program.
already have the service pack 1 installed.
I'm trying to hatch floor patterns in suits. I draw a pline aroudn perimeter. There are a couple of problems.
First, when I do a hatch by selecting the pline ("object"), it doesn't detect islands, such as our room tag. This is likely because the hatch is over an xref (the suite is an xref, room tag and pline are not), and hatches don't seem to like xrefs.
Next option is to hatch by "pick points". When I do that, and select a point on the floor of the suite, all of a sudden an old xref or xclip appears in 2 locations, and the hatch boundary takes the lines from that new xref into consideration. The crazy thing is that this xref does not exist in any form in the drawing. I have purged/audited the drawing, and the drawing no longer even exists in our computer.
I distinctly remember back in the day, (~2006), that you would be able to to choose the items you wanted to hatch first, then enter the Hatch command, hit OK, and your objects would be hatched. Simple! Since 2010, you have to enter the Hatch command, then hit Select Objects, then select your objects, then hit Enter, then hit OK, which I find it is less efficient.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn the hatch dialogue there is a setting to target the hatch to a specific layer. How does one set the default to ALWAYS be "Use Current"?
Attached jpg shows the target layer as ffbrg, but I want that to ALWAYS read "Use Current" when creating a NEW hartch. In other words, I am happily working in a specific layer creating all these hatches and then realize LATER that all the hatches were in different layers causing great confusiion and havoc.
I find conflict area between list command for hatch and calculation.
when do you make calculation list of plines 2381.399
when do you make calculation list of hatch 2545.948
If I try to hatch, it takes minutes for the command to process. Any settings I need to check?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got a drawing in Acad 2010 which consist of about 6000 lines. The image is a ship, and I need the drawing to insert in a HMI screen.
Now my problem: The accomedation of the ship is white, as is the background of the sheet. I need the drawing with a black background, but want to keep the white color of the accomedation of the ship. When I change the backgroundcolor of the sheet to black, the white areas inside the drawing will also change into black. If I trie to hatch the white areas inside the drawing the program gives a messages that there are to many open bounderies.
I tried to make a blok of the drawing and move it on a black square, but then again the white areas will turn black.
So for short: How can I make the white areas non-transparent without using the hatch-command?????
Okay, so it's been a while since I've done one of these, and I haven't done one on 2014 at all yet.
I've got a fairly simple part, it's about 6" long x 3" wide, less than 3/8" thick, without a whole lot of complex geometry to work with. I've built up my whole mold for it, and that went okay, but the fill analysis seems like it's taking forever. Like hours. It gets to the "Fill" stage, gets just a sliver of green on the progress bar, and then sits.
Last time I tried this was on my workstation at the office, using 2013. It didn't take nearly this long, and the part was much larger and far more complex, with a significantly slower computer.
Is something broken with this in 2014? I guess I can just let it run overnight, see what happens in the morning ...

I am trying to make a hatch pattern in Illustrator CS6 with the pattern tool so I can apply a clean, single lined hatch to various shapes (some small some big - but the hatch needs to remain at the same seamless scale). I understand that there is a Basic Graphics_Lines Pattern under the Swatches Palette, but I don't understand how to edit it with the Pattern Options dialogue box.
I must be missing something, because I wouldn't think making a single line at 45° repeat at the same spacing for a shape fill would be that difficult. I shouldn't have to make a line with the pan tool at a stroke of 1000 with a 0.1-3 dash and make a clipping mask should I?
Basically I don't know how to make a pattern's lines match up when I do the 5x5 or 3x3. I tried doing 1x1 and the result is that of the image with the red stroke...still not aligning. Do I need to get mathematical with the size of the line I'm drawing and its stroke to allow H and V Spacing to work?
A work mate here at sometime or another clicked on the "always perform my current choice" check box when the "Hatch - Large, Dense Hatch Patterns" dialogue box appeared.
Question is, is there anyway to reset this so the dialogue box comes back up?
On "TEXTFILL", Help says:
Controls the filling of TrueType fonts while plotting and rendering.
0
Displays text as outlines
1
Displays text as filled images
Q1) It doesn't affect the text visible on monitor? Does it? I was expecting to see the result in Print Preview or Print to PDF before plotting to paper but I couldn't. Does it mean there is something wrong or still it will be OK if I plot to paper?
Q2) It is only for TrueType fonts so it doesn't affect other fonts (what other fonts could be? because all fonts in my ACAD are TT)
