I need to insert two different (separate) title blocks into my idw drawings so both show on the drawing. One is the real Title block, and one is a Revision History block. I have listed them as Title blocks under Drawing Resources, but Inventor won't allow me to insert both. Is there any way round this?
I do not want the Revision History block as a Symbol.

I'm trying to insert our company logo (a DXF file) into the a title block definition however the insertion point seems to default to 0,0.How can I insert it with a user defined insertion point?
You will see from the attached screen snipe what I mean about being forced to insert it at the 0,0, coordinates. I'd like to insert it into clear space then scale it and move it into replace the existing logo.
Basically we have a number of different procedures that need to be written in each drawing. Each drawing uses one of 5 or so procedures. Usually we type it out every time which is a pain or copy paste. We also tried making word documents and inserting them that way but it got a little buggy. Is there any way to have 5 or so pre made text blocks to pick which to insert onto different types of drawings but that can be global used across a few systems?
We have a small group of workers all on the vault server. Basically I just want to be able to have a finished drawing. Click something that will open a list of my pre made text blocks, and insert one into the drawing that I can scale etc. We use Inventor 2011.
I am a land surveyor and am looking for a routine that will look at my txt files exported from the field data collector, and upon exporting into C3D, will look at the descriptor and place an appropriate block on the node. For example, if the collector code was for an IP (iron pin), when the points are imported into the drawing, a solid round block would be placed on each node with the IP description. Same if for trees, concrete monuments, fire hydrants, etc.

I need to insert a Key Plan as a small part in my title blocks. I have a key plan ready in my model section. I did tried to play around in the block editor but could not find anything useful. I wish I could insert the key plan like viewport in the layout section.
On the side, my file directory always showed up on the paper when I printed my drawing out. Do you know how I can get rid of this ?
The title blocks that we use have prompted entries in them and I would like to find a way using iLogic to copy the entries from one title block to another within the same drawing; i.e.. if the user decides to change from an A2 to A1 drawing.
I already have an iLogic rule which allows the user to change the active border, title block and sheet size based on a form selection but would like it to capture the prompted entries already entered and re-use them after the change.
I have done a new Title Block in our drawing templates.
It only works in New drawings if I open an old drawing I must "Copy/paste" the new Title Block into the browser to the left But I want all our old drawings to use the new Title Block.
Is there a way to have the new Title as default on all old drawings?
Is there a way to add the sheet name to the title block of drawings with a variable?
I can add the sheet number, revision and size but not the name. Why not?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI do a lot of work where I start with a full assembly drawing, then make more drawings for the individual parts. Is there a way to link the title block parameters in the part drawings to the title block in the full assembly drawing? The only way I found was to link the parts together and then grab the info for the drawings off of the parts, but if I'm implementing this in a template used by others I want them to still be able to just fill in the blank on the assembly drawing to make it work.
I was able to get iProperties to show parameter buttons, but I haven't seen any way to link to other files or anything like that.
Have more than one drawing template? (we use A and B size sheets)
My questions concerns, metric vs imperial A vs B vs C etc etc drawing sheet size title block does not scale down accordingly when change sheet size within an existing drawing template.
Is it possible to have one drawing template that can be toggle imperial vs metric, and then sheet size selected and then the title block scaled down or up accordingly? (I would assume this could be done using iLogic)
Or is it normal to have different drawing templates for sizes and units?
i have created some dynamic title blocks with text attributes in title column. I have gone back an added some more attributes at a later date and these new ones will not move with my dynamic stretch! I have tried everything, modifying the action, re-doing the action, nothing works!

Im pretty good with VBA but new to Inventor objects. The tool itself will change all of the borders & title blocks in multiple sheets to the selects ones on the form in one go.
I have the code set up to loop through the sheets and delete / replace all borders & title blocks and this works great. Im trying to find how i can loop through the borders & title blocks so that i can get them into a combo box for each. I cant find anything about this on the internet.

I have found many threads in this forum and have used their solutions for this rule, but for some reason, my rule will not select the title block and place it in the drawing.

I have a problem with my title block.
If I create a new drawing today the date is correct. But if I open it tomorrow and open a new sheet its still todays date.
How do I make the date changed with the new sheets??
I am trying to create an iLogic (or VB) rule to update an active drawing title blocks from our Template File.I don't want to use any of the external software (Transfer Wizard etc), we just need a simple rule that will update the title blocks when we need to.

I know of the iproperty of the part or the iam and that being able to be incorporated in the idw title block. But is there any way of linking an excel file to the idw so once the excel file is changed it updates all the idw title blocks it references?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently been forced more to use customer supplied drawings in inventor that contain attributed AutoCAD blocks, I have been looking for a way to automate filling out these and add some consistency since they sometime ask for the same thing to be updated in several places. I have been using the "dwgblk.GetPromptTextValues(sTags, sAttr)" to get the values of these attributes but I don't know how to update the value from a property back into the attribute.
I have even thought about doing this in iLogic so that it would be easy to change from customer to customer.
I'm having an error with Ilogic parameters.I just wanna change the border and the title blocks with Ilogic. This should be simple. Isn't this?

I have attempted to create the title block with Document fields from the drawing properties custom properties tab, and creating the same fields with information from the Sheet / Sheet Set fields. Both title blocks used attributes inside the block to house the fields, and both were .dwt files.
Is there a way to take the properties from the .dwt drawing into a newly created drawing, or is there a way to link custom sheet set properties with a newly created sheet set? The main goal is to not have the user manually input multiple custom fields either in the drawing properties or the sheet set manager of the new drawing.
Can I scale up a 100+ blocks at once and have each base point as the blocks insert point?

I can't imagine there's a right or wrong way, just wanted get your input. Chances are you all know something I don't.
In a drawing file customer wants to create 2 title block. both the title blocks should be added to the same drawing. At any point of time only one should be visible to the user. Basically users in one country will see first title block and users in another country will see second title block.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI’ve been given a drawing with 3 drawings w/title blocks in Paper Space, REV A, B & C. A is on the left, B is in the middle and C is on the right. It appears somebody has been printing REV B as when I select print it jumps straight to that drawing.
How would I print REV A or C? I can do it now but I have to delete the other 2 drawings so it focuses on the only remaining drawing.
