AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Represent Door Swing In IDW
Nov 30, 2011I would like to add a door to the model but show the top view as a door swing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get the door swing arc to scale correctly as the width of the box is changed.
But the block is defying logic by scaling the arc radius exactly 5 units short of what it should be.
I've tried deleting, recreating, and chaining the parameter over and over only to have the same problem each time.
I would like to add a automatic property set definition for door "swingdirection" in my door schedule and replace the “left” with LH, “right” with RH and if neither (N/A) with DBL (for double leaf doors).
I thought I remembered being able to view source code in 2004 ADA for how to change and replace but I’m lost in 2013.
Can you show the direction of swing in the door schedule?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a toilet stall that looks pretty good. But the door swing is on the wrong side for my plans.
Short of starting from scratch, is there a way to change the hinge side? Some restrooms have the hinge on the right side and others on the left. I'd like to be able to change this via a parameter. If I could figure out how, I'd add the param to the family. URL>...
I am currently running Revit Architecture 2011. I have interior elevations in my project, which include doors. The door swing lines show up solid in elevation. In fact there actually appear to be two of them. I want the elevation swing indication to be a center line style.
I have changed the swing elevation line type in object types to center (which is what I want).
I go to the elevations and there is no change in the swing indication line except that there still appear to be two lines (one on top of the other) where now one is center linetype and the other is solid. Seems like progress except that there is no actual visual difference.
There is only one symbolic line in the family. If I un-check the draw in foreground box the elevation line disapears entirely when reloaded into the project.
This is an OTB door. I can place it in a completely new template and it displays fine. So it I am thinking it is NOT the family. There must be some setting in the actual file itself controlling this and I am stumped.
How do I represent NPS threads (not NPT) in IV?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am wondering when in the idw and have multiple parts some the same and some different. I would like to distinguish between each part as a different part or balloned so they all have a different ref number.
example: have part A and part B and part C
part A has three different instances in the iam
part B has two
part C has four
How do I represent them in parts list and ballooning as different single instances?
part A- ballooned like- 1, 2, 3
part B- ballooned 4,5
part C- ballooned 6,7,8,9
I working on a deadline with little sleep, but I cannot believe it is this hard to get an overhead door to look right. All I want is a 1" thick frame, the same depth as the wall AND the door slab to be INSIDE the frame like a real overhead door.
The attached PDF shows the standard OH door on the left with the stupid door centered in the frame. The door on the right is one I created by inserting a cased opening in the wall, then manually drawing a rectangle and dashed line for the OH swing. All I am interested in is getting this right in plan at this point. Using Architecture 64 bit.
I have ACAD Arch 2012 and I am trying to associate my door tags with my door schedule and visa versa. I get as far as creating the Door Schedule with all the doors on it and quantified just the way you would want to see it; however, the "Mark" remains "A" for every door. I discovered that I can change the Mark on the extended properties of each door, but I believe there should be a better (and more linked) way to accomplish this. Since the program already recognizes how many doors there are of a specific style it should be able to put sequential "marks" to each door, for example "A", "B", "C", etc.
what's the difference between Door Tags - Project Based and regular Door Tags?
--Is there a way to do a door schedule by styles rather than individual door?
--To clarify: I want my door schedule to create a new door number only when one or more of the property sets, classifications, or door styles pertaining to a door are not defined by other doors in the schedule. This would facilitate giving the same door number to multiple doors that have matching schedule information, and cut down on my schedule size.
--how to do this. If I need to create custom tags, schedules, or formula properties.
How can the dimensions for the system family door be shown in the door schedule?
I tried to make a instance paramater, type parameter, both through shared parameter for the doors in the family file, but they are still not showing up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt appears to be an error with swing lines for double doors when an elevation or section view from an AEC model is generated. Only one out of the two door leafs shows swing lines in any event. Could this be a legacy error after the hotfix re: hidden line projection error on elevations and sections? I applied the AecCore.crx fix yesterday and then became aware of the problem with the swing lines.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am assembling a cupboard using a hinge and a door. I can make the hinge swivel quite nicely in its own assembly file. When I add the hinge and the door to the cupboard assembly I cannot get the door to swivel with the hinge. In fact I can not get the hinge to swivel once I place it on the cupboard frame member.

Is there a way of attaching connectivity data to nodes in a network topology? For example, a bridge where two roads cross might be represented by four polylines A, B, C, D with endpoints coinciding where the bridge is. How would you represent the fact that A joins C and B joins D but A does not join B/D and B does not join A/C?

Layer manager keep loosing the icons that represent a function. When you open layer manager, there are some icons on top of the layer manager page, one functions as make layer current, the other one to create a new layer & so on. these icons after a few time that we use layer command they all disappear, the only way to fix it is to close autocad & open it again. Of course if we use classic layer manager then things are ok but classic layer manage rhas uts own problems & limitations also.
My own guess is that the commad "layer" which invoke layer manager has memory leak, & when it is used a few time basically makes your system works on less memory resources & the only way to fix it is to abort the operation & start every thing all over again.
Just exactly what does "Angle" represent when placing a "Rotation Parameter" in a DBlock?
I've tried a bunch of diff angles and haven't noticed a difference. I'm trying to figure out just what effect diff values would have. I thought that maybe when rotating the block instance, I'd only be able rotate it "so far" (270 degrees in the example I've shown). But it still went well beyond that.
When I flip a door from left to right side can I see changes in schedule table? I can't fin a parameter for swing orientation.

How does one represent florescent colors within Illustrator? The final output will be a multi-color sticker.
If I use the eye dropper tool and pick color from a florescent image Illustrator does seem to retain the attributes of being florescent.
I have a strange issue with PP CC which did not occur on CS6. The audio levels are slightly altered. This issue is clear if I compare them through Audition or Vegas Pro, when they are not altered.
For example, if I have a video with a soundtrack, and I enter another audio clip in another track for vocals, the vocals are lower then they actually are (like -12 instead of -6). It becomes evident when I open the sequence in Audition, where the levels are fine. What's happening? I really need to work with precise levels.
by default revit shows roof plan in the Site plan view.
Is it possible to show site plan that one line would represent building contour? Also is it possible to cast shadows of all the building if the first floor is selected?
i was trying to make site plan from the fist floor, but since i gave intense topography ground is being cut and i need full topography. i am using 2013 revit.
I am looking for a way to import a sequence of images that represent an object spinning. I'd like to be able to import these onto the timeline and have it play thru the images by turning them on/off at the correct time. I basically want to do the same way that you can do in Flash when importing an image sequence.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to represent a bottomless arch (arch span)? I can make a horizontal arch pipe, but I only need the top half. I also thought about building a corridor.
We do have a storm drain system running perpendicular above it and need to show the arch as a crossing. Corridor would work but I think I would prefer a pipe network-type solution.
I need to change a solid line in a drawing to a dotted line to indicate that it is a hidden line. I know I should use Modify/Properties, I just don't know how to import the dotted line into the properties box.
