im drawing a wall section of a building on cad, the wall consists of outer brick, wall insulation & breezeblock.
is their an industry standard way to represent these materials? for example a certain type of hatch pattern that should be used?also, how should i represent the wall insulation?
Is there a way of attaching connectivity data to nodes in a network topology? For example, a bridge where two roads cross might be represented by four polylines A, B, C, D with endpoints coinciding where the bridge is. How would you represent the fact that A joins C and B joins D but A does not join B/D and B does not join A/C?
I know it can be done usign Pipe networks and feature lines and a massive waste of time.. But I just want ot offset my FG to show a line constant offset. Can this be done? If so how?
I am wondering when in the idw and have multiple parts some the same and some different. I would like to distinguish between each part as a different part or balloned so they all have a different ref number.
example: have part A and part B and part C
part A has three different instances in the iam
part B has two
part C has four
How do I represent them in parts list and ballooning as different single instances?
Layer manager keep loosing the icons that represent a function. When you open layer manager, there are some icons on top of the layer manager page, one functions as make layer current, the other one to create a new layer & so on. these icons after a few time that we use layer command they all disappear, the only way to fix it is to close autocad & open it again. Of course if we use classic layer manager then things are ok but classic layer manage rhas uts own problems & limitations also.
My own guess is that the commad "layer" which invoke layer manager has memory leak, & when it is used a few time basically makes your system works on less memory resources & the only way to fix it is to abort the operation & start every thing all over again.
Just exactly what does "Angle" represent when placing a "Rotation Parameter" in a DBlock?
I've tried a bunch of diff angles and haven't noticed a difference. I'm trying to figure out just what effect diff values would have. I thought that maybe when rotating the block instance, I'd only be able rotate it "so far" (270 degrees in the example I've shown). But it still went well beyond that.
I have a strange issue with PP CC which did not occur on CS6. The audio levels are slightly altered. This issue is clear if I compare them through Audition or Vegas Pro, when they are not altered.
For example, if I have a video with a soundtrack, and I enter another audio clip in another track for vocals, the vocals are lower then they actually are (like -12 instead of -6). It becomes evident when I open the sequence in Audition, where the levels are fine. What's happening? I really need to work with precise levels.
by default revit shows roof plan in the Site plan view.
Is it possible to show site plan that one line would represent building contour? Also is it possible to cast shadows of all the building if the first floor is selected?
i was trying to make site plan from the fist floor, but since i gave intense topography ground is being cut and i need full topography. i am using 2013 revit.
I am looking for a way to import a sequence of images that represent an object spinning. I'd like to be able to import these onto the timeline and have it play thru the images by turning them on/off at the correct time. I basically want to do the same way that you can do in Flash when importing an image sequence.
How to represent a bottomless arch (arch span)? I can make a horizontal arch pipe, but I only need the top half. I also thought about building a corridor.
We do have a storm drain system running perpendicular above it and need to show the arch as a crossing. Corridor would work but I think I would prefer a pipe network-type solution.
I need to change a solid line in a drawing to a dotted line to indicate that it is a hidden line. I know I should use Modify/Properties, I just don't know how to import the dotted line into the properties box.
I have a problem with disappearing materials on the surface of my 3D models. I spend hours adding materials and color to my drawings using the 'ctrl' select option on the surface of 3D objects, but when I save the drawing and go back to it another time the materials seem to disappear.
I am running Autodesk Inventor Professional 2010. I use FEA a lot on steel and aluminum structures but was wondering if Inventor is capable of doing FEA on composite structures. I personally want to estimate the strength of some carbon fiber tubing but wasn't sure whether or not I would be getting good data from it. I know that composites don't yield and was wondering how or if that will affect anything. Also, if you can do an FEA on a composite, any solid website to get material properties from?
I am using AutoCAD 2014. We were recently asked if there is a way to automatically update bill of materials if you change or add materials in a drawing. Bill of material is not necessarily in the same drawing? Do I need to create a table?
We normally just create a bill of material separately from the rest of the drawings in AutoCAD. They also want to be able to export it to exel
I am currently making a 3d tower and the outside of the tower is glass, but when i apply the colored glass i want you can see the whole way through the tower. That isn't what it looks like in real life.
I tried adjusting the transparency of the material and the glass is still see through. I then changed it to a solid glass but then i couldn't get the color that i want and it doesn't look realistic. i tried messing with the opacity, again that had no effect. i am using AutoCad 2013.
i am trying to make a usb pendrive but i did'nt get chrome material for the metal part of usb is it possible to make such type of materials in autocad itself. trying to getting this type of materials.
Is it possible to add materials to a 2D drawing? I'm working on a floor plan and would like to add flooring materials to it but not sure how or if this is possible?
I draw a three drawer night stand and would like to Render it using pine wood. Ideally I would like to see each part of this cabinet to have "different grain pattern" (in real life there's no two pieces of wood the same). Is this possible? So far my cabinet looks better in "shaded with edges" view than Rendered... Is there a way to edit material (one material) that shows different "patterns" after rendering?
I am having trouble with rendering. the materials are not showing when i render it. i have checked the properties of the object under 3D visualization and it shows the material i applied and then i tried also to view it in realistic mode, it shows also the material i used but when i render it, the materials arent there. i was thingking the built in VGA has something to do with this because there are also instances that when i set the view to perspective, objects doesnt show... trying come up with justification so that the management will be pushed to upgrade my unit!
I am doing some 3D renderings. I created a new material and gave it an image to use. I now made a change to that material getting rid of the image file, but no matter what, this texture is stuck in AutoCAD's memory or something. Am I missing something or will I have to delete this material and start over from scratch?
