View 1 RepliesI think I'm in over my head here. I did a logo for a company in Photoshop CS (it was an ad agency that contracted me so no direct contact with client). Just some text and clip art, nothing fancy. I've sent off the layered file in .psd format. Now they want .eps format. I know you can save as .eps format in photoshop, but there's lots of different options.
Photoshop EPS
Photoshop DCS 1.0 [*eps]
Photoshop DCS 2.0 [*eps]
Other options are
Preview - TIFF (1 bit/pixel) or Tiff (8 bit/pixel)
Encoding - ASCII85, ASCII or Binary. Or JPEG low medium or high.
Include Halftone Screen - yes or no
Include TransferFunction - yes or no
PostScript Color Management - yes or no
Image Interpolation - yes or no
No clue what I need to select here. Is this dependent upon the print shop specifications? Or is there a typical EPS setting I should choose and be done with it?

I am currently writing a COM application that uses the Inventor 2013 APIs to open up and inspect CAD files. This utility is intented to operate on large amounts of Inventor data. I am using SilentOperation and Visibile properties to allow the automated process to run unmanned (i.e., suppressing any popups). However, there are occasions where Inventor will crash due to some corrupt data or some other system problem, which results in the CER dialog popping up.
The utility handles Inventor crashes by clearing out and restarting the session, but the CER dialog prevents this from happening until a user manually closes the window. I would like to avoid the complications of creating a monitor' that handles killing the Inventor.exe process in the event of a crash. Is there any setting - either in the application configuration or through the APIs - that would turn off the CER when Inventor crashes? I have seen solutions that disable CER for AutoCAD [URL], but I need to be able to do this in Inventor.
Using CS5. I am unable to open two files supplied by our client. These two files pre-date CS6, and were made by a branch of our client in Germany. We are in North America. There are many layers of bureaucracy between us and the actual creators in Germany, so communication is impossible.
Â
An attempt at opening the files results in the error, "Could not complete your request because the specified color book cannot be found".However, in this case it is NOT POSSIBLE to "work with the file creator", and it is NOT POSSIBLE to use a different version of PS with the correct books.
Â
I have Color Manager, and I have cluttered up my CS5 installation with every likely-looking color book from Manager in the hopes that one of them would be the right one, but to no avail.So. What do I do? Surely by now Adobe has created some sort of utilty that allows PS to simply tell you WHICH color book is missing so you will know which one to go and get? No?
I've created a template that I use for customer proofs. It has the boilerplate text and three text boxes that I click in and type the "Customer's Name", "Description", and the "Date".
Is there any way of having a text box auto fill with "Today's Date" and the "File Name" with full path in a new text box that I'ld like to add?
I have tried to export some simple 2D sketches I created in Inventor into a DWG format used in AutoCAD (which I will eventually turn into a DXF file). However, AutoCADÂ shows a blank dark screen when I open the DWG file. Is there something that I am missing during the export process?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a student version of AIP 2012 and am having a problem exporting to .STL file types.Â
When using a "Standard(mm).ipt" and designing the part in mm, upon export it shrinks the dimensions down.Â
For example, the width of my sketch is 193mm, upon inspection on a different computer with VCarve Pro and CUT3D were 19mm.Â
I don't want to dimension the parts as to make the problems in export to the right size because I think that defeats the universal aspects of autodesk.
I'm trying to export my iam file to a 3D DWG file. When I do, I get the following error:
Runtime Error!

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I am trying to export and save numerous Inventor Assembly Models, to send to various customers to import into their models. I have been saving them as .stp files, but they are very large files after exporting, and I'd like to know if there is a way to decrease the exported file size. I could zip them after I create them, but I was hoping there was an easier way or different format than .stp. I could also suppress numerous internal componants, but I would rather not have to go through that task either. In the end, they would really only require the outer shell, with any externally viewed holes still present.

I can open inventor and open idw file in VB.net. But could not reach to Parts List.. I checked Inventor2010ObjectModel and sawDrawingdocument>DrawingBOM but could not get success.
We usually create our assemblies and parts by modeling up solid bodies in one part file and using the make components command to create the individual parts and assemblies. I would like to either use properties or parameters in the initial part file to put in project information and have it carry over into the individual parts after using make components. That way the drafter has to put the information into one file and not 100+ when all the part files are made. I would love to do it with text type parameters but unfortunately haven't been able to do this since you can't export them (unless I am missing something). The end goal is to be able to put a parts list on a shop drawing grabbing the assembly but pulling custom information from the parts and trying to minimize the amount of work the user has to do by going in each part and adding the information.Â

What is the best export/import format for sending 3D files. I need some neutral format files, possibly Solidworks but I am not sure. Also any export settings to make sure I get decent quality files.
Nothing like getting a surface model when you want solid model.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen a customer asks for a logo, what do you do? What do you need to know to make it?
Do you give them a template such as:
Company Name:
Colors:
Etc:
Basically, what do you need to know to make somone a logo (or design in general) and how do you get that information? After you get the information how to you continue with the project?
Every time I make a custom line (I used a dotted line a lot), once I close down Xara, the brush is no longer in my library and I have to create it all over again from scratch. Why is it not saving automatically to my library so that I don't have to keep creating the same custom line over and over again?

appart from just sending the command as a text.
I recently needed to reinstall windows xp. I have saved everything I needed to reinstall all my software. My photoshop CS2 is the only problem I've had. Since it was an upgrade my installation pkge is looking for a previous version. I have the serial number, original reciept, confirmation number, case number and all other materials needed including a challeng code given to me 2 years ago when I upgraded. After 3 hours and being kicked from Customer Service to Tech support over and over with a hold time of 15 minutes in between each one I was finally fed up. Each person tried the same thing. Ctrl/Shift/Dbl Click which does not work. They agree my serial number is correct, they can see my purchase from the order number on my original reciept, but not one could give me a straight answer. They all kept asking the same questions over and over but none made sense. Honestly I don't think there was a language issue either. The last one actually said I should upgrade to CS4..... how could I upgrade that if I can't even upgrade to CS2 on my computer. I have totally lost respect for the Adobe system of support. I have 3 Adobe programs and I am waiting for the day I need support on those. If anyone has any suggestions for me I'd love to hear them. They would not give me any help other than to say I must have a previous version loaded before I can load an upgrade.....NO kidding! But even though I paid and they see I paid for an upgrade in the past....they cannot come to the conclusion that the previous version would no longer be loaded on my computer.....I've upgraded...the previous one is gone. My only hope is to get ahold of a previous cracked version so I can run my paid program through with the previous installed..... that risks my computer getting malicious files on it...which is why I did the clean install in the first place......

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get my first 3d print of a model and am having problems getting it into a format that the printing service can use. I've read up and attempted stlout, 3dprint, and export commands to no avail. I get the message that the objects need to be 3dsolids or watertight meshes.
After reading all the hype on 3d printing and being very excited about it, I"ve got to say that I'm a bit overwhelmed with the steps it appears one has to take to get an architectural model to print.
The model is made with aca 2012.
I hightlite the table in the viewport than right click to get the menu . Then export it and bring up the export dialog box. It keeps saving the file as a bitmap and not a csv file. I did get it to work once when I exported it the first time as a csv file. Now the second time trying to export it , it is coming up as a bitmap file. What am I doing wrong.

Also, If I make a layout, I put my Firm Logo and information in the layout. If I send this to another firm, which isnt using Autocad, they than can only see the model area, so If I can export it into 1 file, in the model area, they cann see the whole thing.
