AutoCAD Inventor :: Duplicate Row Or Column Heading Values Detected - Change The Redundant

Mar 27, 2012

I am trying to create different bend tables for different thickness material.  If I have two radii that are the same for different thicknesses it gives me an error message on the second one that it is a duplicate column heading value.  The values of the bend table are dependent on the thickness of the material.  Why can't I have several different thicknesses with the same radii?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Parts List Column Heading Row Height?

Apr 13, 2010

I have a parts list, with a column, that the description in the column heading is longer than the width of the column. I would prefer not making the column wider, so is there a way to increase the row height of the heading, and wrap the text?

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Script To Change Duplicate Tag Names And Their Values?

Jun 17, 2012

I need to change the value of some tags in a title block on multiple drawings. I tried using Lee Macs attribute changer [URL]. It works fine but not when tags have the same name.

I then looked at this code - [URL]

Idea was to change the tag names then use Lee Macs program. It too fails when there are duplicate tag names. It changes all tags not just the one I want.

In the the title block I have 3 tags with the name "NAME" but only one will have the value I'm looking to change. If I could place an IF statement some where in the above codes (or another code altogether) to instruct that IF the tag name is "NAME" with value "Dennis (BSL)" then change either the tag name or the value to "Daniel"

Im pretty bad at this programming stuff but with so many drawings I need a easier, automated way of doing this.

An easy formula, but is this possible in Inventor (2012 Pro)?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Ipart - Standard Parameter Column Change Depending On Custom Parameter Column

Jan 3, 2013

I am trying to publish to the CC a guide rail. The vendor of the rail gives me the option of entering the desired length of the rail. After that he gives me the option to choose between the length that I entered and a shorter and longer standard length witch can be delivered faster.

I want to do the same thing with my published part, but I cannot make a key parameter to change depending on the entered custom parameter. I want the user to make the next steps when inserting from the CC: 1- select the size of the rail; 2-select the type of the rail; 3- enter the desired length of the rail; 4- choose between the desired length and the 2 recommended lengths (I need these 3 lengths to be shown)

Is this possible?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Change File Name Column In IPart Table?

Jul 25, 2013

We are using Inventor and Vault pro 2013.

I have an iPart in which I want to change the File Name Column from "Member" to "Part Number". These columns are not the same and makes the filenames for the members different when generated.

The challenge is that I already have about 100 members generated and used in different assemblies. I want these to be replaced by the new files and be deleted.

If I change the File Name Column I will get 100 new files (ipart members) that is not used anywhere. The only way I know of to replace the 100 "old" members is to do this in Vault - one by one..

AutoCad :: Duplicate Attributes With Different Values?

Mar 24, 2011

Is there any way to have duplicate attributes in a block but with different values so when I use data extraction both sets of values will be sorted in the proper columns?

This is what I'm trying to achieve:

QTY.....ID.....#...........Description
1.........12.....POSCL....POS CABINET – LEFT
1.........12.....POSWL...POS WALL - LEFT

The block is for a unit that is made up of two fixtures (a cabinet and a wall with a counter top). Our customer uses the same ID for both fixtures and treats it as one unit, whereas our order form lists both the cabinet and the wall separately for production purposes. So both of our fixtures will have the same ID, but will have different product numbers and descriptions. In order for the information to show up in the table properly, I need two instances of an ID, # and Description attribute. If I use a different name for the additional attributes, I will get two extra columns.

The only way to remove the error is by deleting the right part out of the assembly and I can procede. I have read that it has something to do with renaming parts, but I still dont completely understand how I am getting this error. My work flow is the same.

May 10, 2012

Here in my office we have several pc's running Inventor 2012 and we found out that when a network license is unavailable (the number of licenses is exceeded) then Inventor loses some of its configurations on OPTION window. The fields that are erased and put back to default:

- "General" Tab >> "Load VBA on start-up" is set to false;

- "General" Tab >> "Update physical properties on save" is set to false and "Parts and Assemblies" is unchecked;

- "File" Tab >>  "Default VBA project" is set back to default;

- "Contet Center" Tab >> "Location of Libraries" is set to default

- Customized buttons on Ribbonbar loses its icons and we have to recreate them everytime it happens.
