How do i export a .iam to STEP or STP or IGES without the three being expordted? i dont want the costumers to be able to see the anything in the three but 1 file (base1 or something).
What i do today is, i make a new part and derive the .iam file and then export it to step but this is getting hard to do when you have many .iam files.
Is there a way to define the export tolerance of a step file? Now the tolerance is always set to 0.01mm but i need a tolerance of 0.001 to go further in another CAD / CAM System.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn my company we work with quite large assemblies, a small project im working on now, contains 527 documents with a total of 3088 occurrenses. Our customers often request STEP files which is a real pain for us to create.
Usually we have to start exporting the assembly at closing time and let the computer work over night, and the product is often a file in the 200mb range, which is too heavy to handle via e-mail, and also takes a lot of time to import to other CAD software.
Using the Task Scheduler is not an option since our file server isnt compatible and refuses to let go of files unless they are checked out manually.
I am trying to export step files from Inventor 2012 into Surfcam. Any files that were created in Inventor translate over as solids. Files that I have imported from step files, recognized features, modified and exported again come into Surfcam as Nurb surfaces. I also tried using Inventor 2013 with the same results.
I've never experienced this problem with earlier versions of Inventor.
it's possible to have a standard text filled in the "Authorization" and "Organization", so that I don't have to enter the same text each time I want to export a STEP file.

I have always used step files to save back to previous releases but i cant seem to get them to open in 2012, I get the attached message
I cant see any version options when saving the sat or stp file, also dwg export, import doesnt work either
I can see other people are still able to do this, is there a setting somewhere?
I have recently upgraded to 2013 FDS and now when I try to import Acad files (sometimes up to 2000 solids) it takes virtually a full day to import one file. When I had 2011 I could import these files much faster.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created various snapshots of a series of photos and I'm ready to export. Is there a way to export all the snapshots at once, in a single export step? Up to now, I've been doing this step by step, exporting one version of the image, than going to the next snapshot and exporting again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recorded a set of actions that I am automating for a few images. At the end I recorded the export and close steps (I records Save For Web - PNG 24 settings). The issue is that the script overrides each image once it's saved. How can I run the image editing part of the script, and then insure that each file is being exported seperatly with a different name? Should I have not recorded the export part of the script?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm exporting to PDF from DP7 using the commercial print settings. There is one layer of text on top of another of color bars. Where the edge of the top layer of text ends there is a step made in the color bars that shouldn't be there (see attached). I tried grouping first but the step is worse.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHow can I use multiple export presets in a single step. After I am done editing, I like to export my RAW images as JPG in 4-5 different resolutions and sizes. Currently, this means having to use the export dialog for each preset. Can I do this in a single step by grouping the presets or something?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a strange one here. Installed 10 seats of Inventor 2013 on Win 7x64, all but 2 cannot export an AutoCAD DWG. When you go to export the file, clicking on Options does nothing. On the one I have tried a repair install, this did no0t work, I then did an uninstall/reinstall, this fixed it. On the second machine, I was hoping I could get away with copying the dwg export .nin file. This has not worked

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had resized the File>Open dialog in Inventor. I had resized it so that it was quite large so I realized pretty quickly when I opened another file, that the window size had rest to its original size.
What I found was that if I export a parts list to excel, then go to File>Open, for some reason the size of my file>open dialog is cleared.
We have a minor issue with STEP translations. We keep our templates on the network, and they have a lot of customized settings. Everything is fine until we try to translate a STEP file, then Inventor wants to use the templates on the "C" drive (the ones that came with the software).Â
Is there a setting I can use to make Inventor use the templates on the network? I've got my "Files" setting in the "Options" pointing to the templates on the network, but Inventor still uses the ones on the "C" drive.Â
Basically, my school has the 2012 version of Inventor while I have 2013, and I was wondering if I can still use STEP files in an assembly, and also in my drawing sheets.
