AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Remove Object From Selection Set
Oct 23, 2012
How can I remove an object I just selected from a selection set? I can't find the setting that allows this. Is it some combination of items check under the selection modes in the options menu?
I've got a bunch of tags with a dedicated "tag mode" style, and if I select them individually I can add them to a table, no problem. However, if I try to do a mass selection of a swath of labeled lines or arcs i get the option to convert all non-tag labels to tag lables (I don't want that) OR don't add those labels not in tag mode (presumably keepin those that are). The problem I have is if I select the latter it deselcts everything. Am I missing something or does this not function as it implies (or at least how I wish it would)?
I've created a lisp that draws the boltholes of a pipe flanges, using the correct number of holes, at the correct diameter at the correct bolt-hole diameter and then rotates. Everything works seamlessly, when i do just one flange. But I've discovered that fewuently there will be mulitple times when a user will have to perform the command.
So the idea I had was to do the following:
Select all circles with (setq CirclesFirst (ssget "X" (list (cons 0 "CIRCLE"))))
Go through the code to create the new circles.
Select all circles with (setq Circles (ssget "X" (list (cons 0 "CIRCLE"))))
Remove selection set "CirclesFirst" from "Circles".
But what for some reason (command "_.select" Circles "R" CirclesFirst "") does not work.
When I select an object and pan to make another selection the first object "deselects". The object(s) will stay selected until I pan and as soon as I start to pan the grips go away and the object(s) is deselected.
I have been using autocad for a while and have always been able to use "R" to remove objects from a selection set. All of a sudden now when I want to use that command it activates the "Redraw" command instead of letting me remove objects from my set.
I presently have code that will select objects on screen based on particular stored object handles. The code then prompts the user to add additional selections once these handle selections are made. No problem. The problem lies with attempting to deselect the objects that were selected via object handles. I should say highlighted because that is what the present code is doing. It is highlighting the objects on screen. The code I am using follows:
Dim ids(1) As ObjectId ids(0) = ObjectIdFromHandle(myDocDB, "1D6") ids(1) = ObjectIdFromHandle(myDocDB, "1DE") Autodesk.AutoCAD.Internal.Utils.SelectObjects(ids) ' Get the Pickfirst selection
The only way I know to remove the segment of this 3d object in between the orange lines is to slice on each orange line and select to keep both sides which is pretty tedious since I will need to do this every 3 feet over a 170 foot span....is there another easier way to do multiple mortar joints on a 3d object like this?
I have a drawing that is 720X596 px and I have used the rectangular tool and select - invert, cut out a 222X444 px part that I need to save as a jpeg. However, I can not figure out how to either : delete the 720X596 drawing to leave the 222X444 drawing: or, select the 222X444 drawing to save it.
I have this obect (see attached IPT) with a piece that is cut off from the main object but I can't figure out how to remove it (the piece in the top left in front view).
I am working on a drawings with nested xrefs and am experiencing major delays when selecting objects using crossing windows. It is as if the computer thinks I am selelecting the xref even though the curser doesn't touch any visible exref entities. Basically, I click to start the window and the curser freezes for 10 to 20 seconds. I am experiencing the same problem with other commands (intermittenly) such as move, line, and offset. The exrefs are on a separate locked layer and have been moved to the back of the drawing.
Having problem with object selection when covered by other objects ie lines, arcs etc on a solid model---autocad 2011---did not seem to be a problem in 2006 version, but wondering if switching layers on and off is the only way?
I have a Unwrap UVW modifier applied to an editable poly object. I used point to point seams to create the seams I wanted. There are a few seams I would like to change, how do I remove a certain selection of the seams that I want to remove?

I'm trying to plot a 3D object but can't remove the hidden lines. On typing "hide" they are removed and appear removed in the plot preview but they still appear in the hard copy.
I cant seem to get the clean command to do anything, it asks whether i want
[Imprint/seParate solids/Shell/cLean/Check/Undo/eXit] so i type "L" it says select object i click the solid it says [Imprint/seParate solids/Shell/cLean/Check/Undo/eXit] again...
I'm using AutoCAD 2013 for Mac, and it works perfectly fine and normal. However, everything I draw, weather its a line, a shape or different objects crossing each other, will have some kind of tag next to it, telling what kind of corner or intersection it is. It's very informative, but they are simply too larger on my display, I hardly get to see what I'm drawing. So frankly I'd love to know how to remove them.
I cannot get the advanced select objects tools to work.
I type:
select <enter>
wp <enter>
Make my polygon, and then I'm stuck in a single item select mode. If I hit enter, they all unselect and I can't do anything. Typing a command (like "m") does nothing.
Typing m <enter>, and then doing the selection yields the same result. At the end of my selection process and I hit <enter>, it sits in the single object selection mode (the little box cursor). Hitting <enter> here again makes the selection dissapear and I'm back to square one.
every time I select something a small box pops up in my way with the object's properties. I can't figure out how it became turned on, and don't know how to get rid of it.
I have a pice of code that select MText in my drawing. It looks that it select the MText in ALL my drawing and I am interested to choose the MText that is in the Model Space only.
The piece of code that I have is:
'Adding a Selection set in the drawing Set objSS = ThisDrawing.SelectionSets.Add("TestSelectionSetOperator") 'Using 4 filters to store in objSS -Selection Set- MText which is located in the Layer Text_MSpace ReDim intCodes(3): ReDim varCodeValues(3)
[Code] .....
How to add a criteria to choose the MText that is in ONLY in my model space?.
Just a regular photo of a person on front and people and objects on the background. I tried different techniques but can't figure out how to make selection with all smallest details intact.
I am running Inventor 2013 Professional 64 bit. When I print to an Adobe PDF I have selected "Remove object line weights". The problem I am experiencing is that the result is the same whether it is checked or not. The result I would expect is that the object line weights won't display on the pdf.
When selecting an object in 2013, entering the command and trying to select the object without moving the mouse will not select the object on the first pick. You must select the object a second time before the object is selected and highlighted.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Hover over desired object
2) Enter command on keyboard (M, E, CO, etc...
3) Do not move the mouse and attempt to select the object
Nothing is selected or highlighted
4) Attempt to select the object a second time
Object is now selected and highlighted
The same thing occurs if you attempt to create a selection window or crossing window immediately after entering a command without moving the mouse and clicking the first point.
This does not occur in vanilla 2012. I do have Raster Design installed with 2013, so not sure if the issue stems from the add-on or not.
I can use SolidSelection.Item for 3D object's handles and but I can't take 3D object's volumes with SolidSelection.
Then I can put object 's handles(1EE) to a collection. Can I use SolidSelection to keep my 3D volumes values? All sub-structure of my program works with SolidSelection Object.
Volume Codes;
For Each tEnt In ThisDrawing.ModelSpace If TypeOf tEnt Is Acad3DSolid Then Dim tEntSolid As Acad3DSolid Set tEntSolid = tEnt tmpVols1.Add (tEntSolid.Handle & "/" & tEntSolid.Volume) End If Next
I can't match with returned result of these codes and SolidSelection.item(i)
For Each tEnt In ThisDrawing.ModelSpace If TypeOf tEnt Is Acad3DSolid Then Dim tEntSolid As Acad3DSolid Set tEntSolid = tEnt tmpVols1.Add (tEntSolid.Handle & "/" & tEntSolid.Volume) [code]......
When I use the Fuzzy select tool or the select by colour tool, how can I remove the selection area around the parts that I don't want selected. For example. I have red car on a white background which I want to cut and paste to a black background. I select the white background, but although it selects all the white, it also selects other small areas on the car which are a similar colour. If the threshold is lowered too much when I use these select tools then I get a very small white border around the object when I paste it on to a dark surface. So instead of selecting using the default (15) or even less, I have to ramp it up so as the selection is closer to object and does not show the white jagged line. I thought that I could use the other selection tools with the "remove from selected" option selected, but each time I place a rectangle around the selected area that I want ot deselect, it does away with the entire selection area. I just cannot get it sussed.
Is there a way of distorting a selection to remove the 'keystone' effect which has made a rectangular page into a trapezium. (Photograped at a slight angle, I want it square for OCR.)
