Our company is looking for training in Autodesk Civil 3d. We contacted a local re-seller, but unfortunately their quote was higher than our company can absorb at this time with the economy. Is there a public list that has certified trainers in different market areas? We are located about 40 minutes North of the Philadelphia area.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have several variables I want to be able to set and then use throughout my project.
First, and seems simplest, would be to just Public Shared the variables. Set them as required, call them when needed.
Second would be to create an object and assign the variables as properties to that object. It would take more programming to do this option. The beauty of this would be that I could store the values from drawing session to drawing session and would not have to ask the user for the values every time he starts my program. Can this be a custom dictionary object? Is that how you would design it?
Unless there is a way to make my Public Shared variables hold their values when the drawing is closed. Static doesn't seem to work here, but I could be missing something.
While I tried to start a loop on a selection set object as below,
foreach (AcadObject SelDrawingObject1 in GenSelSSetObj)
I get an error as below,
foreach statement cannot operate on variables of type 'Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common.AcadObject' because 'Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common.AcadObject' does not contain a public definition for 'GetEnumerator'
changes required to fix this.
We are planning on upgrading our CAD workstations. At the moment we are having problems (crashing) running Autocad 2014 and Plant 3D in 2014 version. Unfortunately our graphic cards (Quadro 4000) are not listed in the list with certified drivers, so getting any support on this subject is not possible. So currently we are still running AC2013 and it works fine.
For our new workstations we want to be sure all our hardware will be fully compatible (for that reason we only buy 1 first). If I look into the certified drivers list; [URL]....... I can mostly see older cards. When will newer cards/drivers be tested? We would like to re-use our quadro4000 or buy quadro K4000 or K2000. (Actually we were never impressed by the quadro4000, the quadro2000 would probably have been almost just as good at a much lower price.)
Trying to calculate a catchment area to allow me to size some culverts using Civil 3D 2012 Sp#1.
" The specified location results in a Catchment with no area."
After sitting for 15 miutes I keep getting the above message. The surface is huge and there is an obvious catchment area (or I think it is obvious). The surface was generated from contours and cover an area of approx. 8Km x6.5Km but the catchment ares should be around 15-20% of that area.
I tried another one upstream about a Km and it worked fine. So the one I am doing now should encompass the upstream area as well as from that point downstream to the Discharge Point.
I'm working on a windfarm access road (5m wide with widening at bends to 8m) and I need to identify the areas of widening.
I've got the centreline alignment and created the 2.5m offsets to each side. I have also created widening on the insides of the bends using the widening tools and used a linear taper at entry and exit. I now need to hatch up the portions where the road has been widened to demonstrate compliance with the specification and the only easy way I can see is to export to autocad and use the hatch tools (not tried to hatch between alignments).
Whilst this works it isn't dynamic so if the alignment is adjusted the widening alignments are also moved but the hatching remains.

I have a bunch of polylines I want to display the areas for. I am using mtext and fields. However the fields format part always defaults to a less than desirable format. Is there a way to set the formatting how I want it for the entire file? Or is there a better way of labeling than fields?

I have a 100 acre park that I am doing earthworks. I have 1 proposed and 1 existing surface. The park is now broke into 5 different areas and I need to get cut and fill for each area. Is there a way to do a volume report for a particular area? I could define the area with a polyline. Or do I need to copy the proposed surface and start chopping up into 5 areas?

We know that we will be able to get the top 15 feet with heavy equipment but will be drilling and blasting anything greater than 15 feet of cut. This is a different pay item, with greater cost so we need to quantify it.
I've got a composite surface that graphically shows me the elevation bands so I can see the areas that are greater than 15 feet but I'm not sure how to quantify the volumes.
Currently using C3D 2012 with the volume dashboard extension. Have 2013 installed just haven't jumped over yet.
Need to identify areas of 100sf or less within slopes exceeding 40%. Is there a simple way to identify this within C3D?

This seems rather prestigous for a Web Developer/Graphic Artist. I think I'd like to have it since it's a simple 1 test per program, whereas Macromedia certifications take approximately 1-3 classes per program certification, and even then, Flash has a "Flash Designer Certification" and "Flash Developer Certification".
Can you get certified on any version of photoshop or do you have to start at Photoshop 1.0? Once you're certified does your certificate "expire" ? Do you have to retake a test? If so how often?

Windows control the drivers, not Nvidia. The certified driver for this version is 8.
What is the difference between rooms and areas? Why create an area schedule off 'areas' as opposed to using 'room' areas? Can you create a schedule off room areas?

The next time I add contours, I have to uncheck the same boxes, and check the "Swapping edges" box. I can set the default Mid-ordinate distance, etc. but I can't find anywhere in the settings that I can preset the check boxes for minimizing flat areas.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIn the image below I have an aerial photo of an Island. I need to make it so as water areas are black and land areas are white (not greyscale) almost like a silhouette. My first plan was to draw round the island with a black paint brush and then use the "bucket fill" with a suitable threshold to fill all of the areas up to the black outline with black, however this doesn't work as the bucket fill either breaks through the black line or when I reduce the threshold, doesn't color the water areas solidly.

I store all my photos in the directories under the public pictures folder, (C:Users Public Pictures) rather than in my pictures folder in my documents. I do this so that all the users on the system can get to the pictures.
I'm having problems getting Paint Shop Pro to recognize the folder correctly. I have added the c:users public pictures folder to the organizer using the Browse More Folders action and it shows up. However, the Smart Collections don't see any of the files in the folders under this dir.
My overall goal here is to be able to use the timeline feature on all my photos at once, so I want to get all of the photos into the All Pictures smart collection.
I'm trying to automate the process of scanning a bunch old public domain magazines. When I try to create an Action to automate the process of the following mouse clicks:
File > Import > WIA Support
Click START button on WIA Support screen
Choose which device I want to use [flatbed scanner] > Click OK
Choose Custom Settings > Click PREVIEW
the Action stops at the very first step above (File > Import > WIA Support).
Maybe Actions aren't the best way to go about automating this entire process. If there is a better way this can be done how do I go about it? I want the macro / Action to stop at the last step above because I often need to adjust the portion of the page that I actually want scanned so I need to do the final step manually (actually scanning the page once I'm satisfied with the preview).

When I pick a feature line, the property dialog would show Feature line, and list the information.
Now for some reason, I get aecc_feature_line and the property dialog shows a different list of information.
How do I get back to the Feature line list.
