I have this error in my iLogic code for inserting sketch symbols. "Public Member 'ActiveSheet' on type 'Drawing View' not found"
I have declared everything in the code. I dont understand what it cant find.
I am looking to generate ipart members for each ipart as I activate it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDuring some discussion with other uses of Inventor I was ask if I knew about a problem relating to Changing a member size in Frame Generator and the iProperties maintain the old members properties.
The basic problem is as follows:-You start with a simple frame, create all of the members save and then added to a drawing. The members frame come from the content centre which have been copied into a Custom Library to enable addition parameters to be added along with addition iproperties being automated such as DESCRIPTION.
Once the frame and associated members have been created and then save, if a user wants to change the size of the member inventor has to create a new part file and then inserts into the frame generator frame. However, I have found that if you review the iProperties of the new file the DESCRIPTION is the same as the one that was replace, however it was strange to see that the STOCKNUMBER and PART NUMBER was updated correctly. It seems to be only a problem with the DESCRIPTION property.
I'm trying to play around with iLogic for creating dynamically dimensioned subassemblies. I've created my dimensioning rules that link to the parts I wish to change dimensions on.
Parameter("Bridge Spine:1", "BridgeLength")=Length
And I've tested this in the SubAssembly I've created and all appears fine. However when I go to insert the sub assembly into the main assembly I get the following error:
Parameter: The component named "Bridge Spine:1" was not found.
I've noticed that the new sub assembly has created new parts with the extension -01 on the end of each part (As expected) It appears that this link is being lost in the rule for the new sub assembly. i.e the rule is looking for Bridge Spine:1 instead of Bridge Spine-01:1
In Inventor 2013 it was easily to switch in a drawing view between different iPart members. Through Edit view => Tab Model State and then it was possible to switch between different iPart members. So it was easy to make a copy in the Vault from only the dwg (from a iPart member) and then change the iPart member. Now in Inventor 2014 it is not possible anymore.

[WARNING] Frame Generator: Errors occurred while attempting to change frame member(s).
[WARNING] Problems occurred during changing Frame Member(s)
[ERROR] A change could not be completed. The reason for the failure is unknown. Please retry.
The structure that i'm trying to change, was created in IV 2012 SP1, and now I'm editing it in IV 2013.
All the pieces of this project were converted to the new version, and the only big difference from 2012 in this case i think that is the materials library, that I created a new one and set on project as default.
The strange, is that if I enter frame by frame and go to iProperties>Physicals, there i can change the material normally (but with a big wate of time ofc).
I´m having som problems to publish a part in to the Content Center. It´s the first time I´m doing this.
The part is made with parameters and is a little bit more complex than a bolt.
The problem is that I got this message: "There are external dependencies found in the document. Please remove the dependencies then proceed with this comand."

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created a bin/vat/tub using sheet metal. I started with a contour flange. I then copied the sketch and pasted into a new sketch off the flange for a contour roll feature. Then a flange, roll, flange, roll, flange and roll. My trouble starts at the last flange. I'm trying to construct the flange exactly as I have created the features before. I set the distance, select the profile (it shows the flange on the screen), hit apply and that's when my message shows up. "Non-tangent curves found in path: flat pattern cannot be correctly created. Edit sketch and add constraints to the curves. The sketch is fully constrained according to the lower right hand corner and the auto constrain button.

This child part is already in vault. I tried to delete the child from Vault and I thought that I would just re-generate it. But, when I try to delete the file from Vault, I am given a restriction, but no explanation.
What can I do to get this back in sync with vault?
This is using Vault 2010.
Is there a way to get the "view type" of a view using iLogic? for example;
-detail view
-section view
-exploded view

This code creates custom iProperties if the iProperty isn't found. I'd like to add another iProperty called "Resaw" with a Yes/No property type. Is there a way of doing this the way I have things started here?
I am using ilogic in Inventor 2011 to update my iproperties when I save a .dwg file. I am having problems with some custom iProperties I have created that are of the type 'number' and are initially set to 0 (zero). After the iLogic rule has run and the user has entered a numeric value the type of the custom iproperty has changed to 'text'.
The ilogic code I am using is:

I am using Vault 2011 and would like to map this property to a numeric property so I can perform <= and >= searches.
I'm trying to use iLogic Design Copy to copy an assembly and all its associated parts to another directory. The assembly contains content center parts. Inventor warns me that the destination file of one of the CC parts (and 18 others) will be overwritten. When I go ahead and copy anyway, the copying process stops at that specific CC part. The Design Copy Progress dialog box states there is an error copying that CC part. When I close the Design Copy Progress dialog box, Inventor crashes.
The error copying the CC part: I'm allowed to use content center parts in iLogic Design Copied stuff, right? I searched some related topics and I'm under the impression that Inventor keeps the CC parts in its own directory and shouldn't be trying to overwrite them.
My computer would crash and reboot. I downloaded and installed the partner certified driver for my video card. (nvidia quadro fx 3450/4000 sdi) This solved the crashing problem, but now every time I open inventor i receive an ilogic activation error. I have reset my ribbon and that did not work.

Just wondering whether there is a way to integrate iLogic error message into VB.NET code.
For example, if use following sentence to read the data from spread sheet.
LengthFloat=GoExcel.CellValue("tank_data.xls", "Gauges", "llg_arm_lgth")
if there is no such cell of "llg_arm_lgth", the error message appears as in attached file.
Right now I want to use "try...catch... end try" in the iLogic code. I can duplicate the first line of the warning message using VB.NET code, but I can not reach the second line. Does the iLogic expose this error message through some function? or which VB.NET code does this job?
I got this error popping up every time I open an iLogic edit rule and all my snippets are gone. Now it has started doing it on a different computer in our office. The error dialog box is in the image below. T

However, I have one iLogic routine that is giving me an error whenever I run it. Selecting continue allows it run as expected. Basically, it is to remind designers to set the material type to other than “Default”.

I have a text parameter "ARM_TYPE" that kicks out a numaric parameter "ARM_ANGLE" through an ilogic rule. My problem is i need to have the rule kickout an error when (ARM_TYPE= "none"). I can do this by changing the "ARM_ANGLE" parameter from a Numaric to Text format (see below). The problem here is that "ARM_ANGLE" is used in several more ilogic rule calculations generating other parameter values which also need to kick out an "error"

Using Inventor 2012 and using ilogic rule or VB codes to auto Save Copy AS DWG?
My old code error out when debugging. The exact error is on this code line:
DWGAddIn.SaveCopyAs(oDocument, oContext, oOptions, oDataMedium)
Autodesk has agreed that this code does not work on Inventor 2012 and that the development is working on it. This code is part of the Snippets built in Inventor iLogic Rule Browser.
The goal of this project is to take a base part file, save new copies as needed, then modify the copies. They're rings for storage tanks that share the same tank diameter but differ in height and thickness. I have a SaveAsCopy rule in my template ring part that I run externally from my main assembly after passing down the new file names to the part rule. Since I'm testing a lot, I'm always deleting the parts from the assembly, then clearing out the new copies from my folder and running the rule again. Eventually after 1-5 times inventor starts giving me an error.

The two other posts on here that deal with that error say it involves enumerating an array that is being changed and looking for an entry that is gone. I have a feeling it has to do with a left over variable (but this is all in iLogic rules so they get cleared at the end of the rule?), temporary files or remnant file references. It works again if I close the assembly and open it back up. Inventor 2013 SP 1.1

I have an error that started appearing in my VBA programs since we upgraded to AutoCAD 2012. This problem never occured in our previous releases. The program is supposed to loop through all entities in paperspace and check for entities that are a acBlockReference object.
Below is a simplified version of my program. I get an Element Not Found error on the line noted. Again, this has never happened in any of our previous versions of AutoCAD. Just started with 2012.
