We are planning on upgrading our CAD workstations. At the moment we are having problems (crashing) running Autocad 2014 and Plant 3D in 2014 version. Unfortunately our graphic cards (Quadro 4000) are not listed in the list with certified drivers, so getting any support on this subject is not possible. So currently we are still running AC2013 and it works fine.
For our new workstations we want to be sure all our hardware will be fully compatible (for that reason we only buy 1 first). If I look into the certified drivers list; [URL]....... I can mostly see older cards. When will newer cards/drivers be tested? We would like to re-use our quadro4000 or buy quadro K4000 or K2000. (Actually we were never impressed by the quadro4000, the quadro2000 would probably have been almost just as good at a much lower price.)
When preparing an assembly for export to a Revit family, all features need to be recognized as Revit features. I have a part which consists of a sweep with a 3D path, 2 planar sketches projected to a 3D surface to be precise. To make matters worse, it's a sweep whose end meets it's own beginning (the intent of this specific model is to just satisfy a shape, not necessarily reflect the way it's going to be produced). To date I have not found a way to have this sweep feature recognized as a Revit feature, be it as a single feature or multiple. I am running Inventor Professional 2014 on Windows 8 64-bit.
an (A)dobe (C)ertified (E)xpert in Photoshop CS or Illustrator CS? If so, how hard are the tests? What do they involve? I checked Adobe's website, but they had a severe case of "more information and pages" than they really needed;
This seems rather prestigous for a Web Developer/Graphic Artist. I think I'd like to have it since it's a simple 1 test per program, whereas Macromedia certifications take approximately 1-3 classes per program certification, and even then, Flash has a "Flash Designer Certification" and "Flash Developer Certification".
I just got the 64 bit version of CS5 after using the 32 bit version, and at first the OpenGL stuff was working, but then all of a sudden it stopped. The 32 bit version recognizes my graphics card and lets me use OpenGL, but the 64 bit version doesn't.
I have Windows 7 64 bit and an Intel HD Graphics Family
Can you get certified on any version of photoshop or do you have to start at Photoshop 1.0? Once you're certified does your certificate "expire" ? Do you have to retake a test? If so how often?
I just installed Corel 13 to my new computer, but it isn't recognizing the text in any of the files from my previous computer. Granted, the files on my previous computer were in an older version of Corel, but that shouldn't be an issue. I can add text to a new document, but even when importing a pdf, the text in the file disappears.
If you drag to select the area where the text should be, it recognizes that something is there. However, you can't see anything or do anything with it. I ran the repair on the installation CD, but I am still having the same problem.
We use Acad map 3d 2012 & civil 3d 2012. We also use Arcgis10.2 and have not seen this problem until one of our contractors (using map 3d 2013) sent us his drawings. When we bring in the map 2013 drawing Arcgis does not recognize the projection assigned to the drawing and our data ends up thousands of kilometres off in the distance. Am I missing something...it always works fine for 2012 drawings.
The spell check works, almost. when I type a word that spell check does not recognize, I get the red underline, but when I choose to add it to dictionary, no dice. if I ignore, close the editor and reopen, the red underline is there.
Our company is looking for training in Autodesk Civil 3d. We contacted a local re-seller, but unfortunately their quote was higher than our company can absorb at this time with the economy. Is there a public list that has certified trainers in different market areas? We are located about 40 minutes North of the Philadelphia area.
I have a project in wich rooms functionality is compromised. I don't know why the room tool doesn't recognise a simple room delimited by walls whose property divides rooms is set to yes. If I place a rectangle of rooms delimiters the room tool works properly instead. If I start a new project the tool works properly.
I am wondering why RPC content in Revit Architecture 2013 is not exporting, or linking when I open up the project in 3Ds Max Desing 2013. I have tried FBX, and linking that, as well as linking an .RVT file, =either "imported" the RPC objects.
Why doesn't 3Ds Max Design support these objects and is there any way to get them into 3Ds Max.
Is it possible to create a View Title Family which have objects which stretch? I know I single line can, but I need to have more that moves to match our graphics standards.
I am very new to Revit (3 days) but am having an issue with the graphics display. When I start a new project from any of the preinstalled templates, the shaded views (with or without edges) do not show any shading and only display HLR. When I create a new family, or open a project from the tutorial downloads, the shading works. Is there a project setting that I am missing? Creating a render of the view shows proper shading/materials, just in the design phase it does not show.
Any way to disconnect the line spacing in the revision schedule from the text height? We have a client titleblock we're trying to match and Revit's "hard-coded" connection between text height and line spacing is continually flagged as "non-standard".
I was recently provided an upgraded workstations, among other things featuring 32gb of ram. Although the new machine dramatically increased rendering power, Revit doesn't run noticeably faster and only makes use of 4gb max of memory, the same as the previous machine with 16gb total RAM. Is there any way of allocating more RAM and/or processor power to revit? A fair bit of searching didn't reveal anything.
I am trying to figure out why the light fixtures are giving me these thick heavy black lines. The same fixtures in the arch floor plan are close to what I want (see arch1). However in mech1.jpg there isnt a way I can find to make the lights more like arch1.jpg. I dont want to use an architectural view template on a mechanical plan, which seems to be my only temporary solution. This is not an issue of Thin Lines (TL) setting and I have tried object styles and VG, although I must not be looking in the right area. How I can control this?
When I try to create a filter, I cannot get the Filter Rule to work. Under Filter by there is an option to select More Parameters which then directs you to Project parameters. When I select a parameter, it does not show up in the 'Filter by' box so I can create the rule. I have used this feature in 2011, but I cannot seem to make it work in 2012.
I am trying to use an Opacity Map in a Revit 2013 material. However, it seems to modify all materials of that category rather than the specific material (ie: Chrome, Polished) - same thing happens even if I duplicate and rename a material. I am trying to create a perforated metal screen panel for a curtain wall and an opcity map seemed the logical strategy
A coworker believes an elevation tag can be placed in plan view A, but can be moved in plan view B without relocating it in plan view A. My experience...move an elevation tag in one view and it will be relocated in all views. Is there a way to have two different locations but reference the same elevation?
How can we convert the file (Revit rfa files) thumbnail preview to jpg/png or any graphics image? We need this because we have huge number of rfa file and it will be converted to jpg/png etc. format. We have attached a sanp shot for your reference. We need the every item into individual image wise.
I am just getting back to autocad after using vectorworks for a few years. In vectorworks I was creating smart walls and plugging in windows, doors ect.
Are intelligent objects only used in Revit? Are people still offsetting wall lines and creating their own windows and doors and cutting out openings in Autocad theses days?
When creating custom materials and utilizing them within your Revit project, are the image files embedded within the RVT file and thereby increasing file size? I was needing to know before we load down the project file (.rvt) with many custom materials. Hopefully it is just a pointer to a separate material file.
2013 Revit ribbon bar is missing commands..Tried to install the update to fix the ribbon bar - however when I open the update folder on my computer it states
"The update release could not be installed because the expected Autodesk product could not be located on your computer. Make sure that you are using the correct Update Release for the product."
The update file that I am trying to use is called "Autodesk_Revit_2013-x86_Update2.exe".
