The AutoCAD C3D fails to apply the precision for all elevations in one go!I wanted to let the precision to be zero for all the contour lines in ONE go but sound not to work!Only the picked elevation responds to the selected precisions, the others are not affected!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have adjusted my North Elevation (using View Graphics) exactly the way I’d like it to look in elevation, and would now like to apply those same visibility adjustments to my other elevations. Is there a way I can save that view as a template and apply to other elevations, or do I instead need to create a view template, make all the adjustments to that template, then apply the template to the elevations?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working in AutoCivil 3D 2014. I have created a curve table for a plat of an allotment with the precision for the curve length set to "Normal Rounding". My problem is that we have to show data for the individual lot frontage as well as the total length of the right-of-way curve length. So the individual lot frontages must add up to the total right-of-way length.
If they don't, I have to make an adjustment to one of the lengths. If I change the precision of the tag syle, there is no change in the table. I have attached a screen shot to show my results. The left picture shows a "span" style with the tag and curve length with the precision "truncated". On the right, is what is in the table. I would like to keep the table dynamic and not have to explode it. I think my problem lies in the table and the only way this can work is if I can override the one length in the table. But I have not been able to do that yet.
Unable to change line label precision (both bearing and distance).
The goal is N10d10'10"E, 100.00'
Civil 3D 2012 is giving N10d10'10.00", 100.000'
I am using a template with the distance precision set to 2.
The drawing setting->Ambient settings distance precision are set to 2.
The feature settings distance precison is set to 2.
How can I make better the second labeling precision in Civil 3D? It's only has four digits precision for the seconds. I did change the ambient settings (Lat Long precision to 8) but haven't got the result.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy parcel inverse reports from the Toolbox Report Manager are still coming in with the bearings having decimal seconds to 3 places (N 0-00-00.000 E). I have already changed the variable for angle precision to zero in the "General_Formating_JScript" xsl file but it's still not coming out correctly. Is there any other file that holds an additional angle or bearing precision setting?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to determine if it's possible to take a 09 LDD Companion drawing in which the elevations for many points have been moved AND/OR rotated (to align with roadway), and not only convert these to C3D, but also have them transferred along with the move/rotate information. We're talking about a mile long stretch of roadway and the project is 6 years old (i.e. no C3D when it was originally done).
The problem is that there are a ton of ground shots that need only be shown to 0.1 precision but are shown to 0.01 precision. LDD was not able to assign an elevation precision to groups of points, only all cogo points together, which meant we had to explode certain groups of "soft shot" points once they had been inserted at the desired precision.
If there's no way to do what I'm asking, it's no big deal for this case since the higher precision can be easily rounded to the lower by the viewer (better than the other way around). But as I am the only one on C3D and have been for the past 2 and a half years, we will likely face this monster again several times over with other drafters' projects and I'd like to have a best practice in place if we need to go the other way (extracting 0.01 precision from 0.1 precision).

How and where can I adjust the station precision of the view frame start and end station. I am choosing snap to nearest foot station but I am getting 1+00.00. I would like 1+00 in the label. I am setting to start end to the layout name and mapping that to the current drawing field in SSM and do not have precision control there either.

I'm trying to edit my label style so that the bearing has no decimal places and the distance has two. I thought it would be similar to editing the contour label precision but it doesn't seem to be that way.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn C3D 2012, when I needed to know what elevation a surface contour was at, I simply hovered my mouse near the point in question and a small window would tell me what elevation my mouse was hovering at. Now, in 2013 I am trying to do the same thing but the little window only has the name of the surface and no elevations. So, how am I supposed to know surface elevations on the fly? Is there some setting to turn that back on?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to project a surface/grading (or something of that nature) across my berm and have it intersect with the inside bank. This is better explained if you see the attached image. In the plan view you see 4 featurelines. Outside TOE, outside TOB, inside TOB then inside TOE. I need to project the outside TOE across the berm (shown in the section view) then create a new featureline where the line and inside slope of the berm intersect. Note that all the elevation shots vary as does the widths across the berm. What's the best way to do this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have two different point groups that I am using in my drawing. One is from a survey done a few years ago and the other is from one that I did just the other day.
I don't have a problem inserting the points or whatnot, but the issue I am having is that when I click "Datum" to adjust the elevations of my new point group (to make my benchmark 100.00'), Civil 3D alters all of my points; including the ones from the older survey. Is a way to adjust elevations to only one set of points.
I have a survey figure that no matter what will not come in with the correct elevations, its a spline (continous) curve that the elevations get blow up on.
Only thing I can think of is the when it starts to interpolate the curve it cant get the elevations correct, this only happens in the curved area, once it goes tangent everything goes back to normal.

We are running Civil3d 2012. When converting a line or 3d poly to feature line, or just creating one it adds elevation points where it crosses surface breaklines even if you do not assign elevations. We want the feature to just have 2 elevations. The beginning and end. Is this a bug? Or is there another setting somewhere?

I have a BC and EC elevation, but the vertices along the CL are at different elevations, which were the original elevation of the poly line before being transformed into a 3D polyline. Is there an easy way to make the full line follow the slope from BC to EC other than manually shifting the vertices?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI graded a commercial site with mostly feature lines. I added points where I needed them to get everything to work. After modifying my surface, I suddenly have zero elevations randomly throughout my site. They don't make any sense why they appear. Some are just added to my drawing and others are existing points that were changed to zero. I can go to a back up drawing from a few hours ago and redo some grading, but I would like to know if there is a way to just erase zero elevations from the surface. I remember LDD was able to create surfaces ignoring elevations below a set elevation.

Why are the elevations locked? I want to set them.
Is there a way to lighten up the colors of my surface slope analysis that the rainbow gives me? My drawing will be going into a report and the colors are too bold. Pastels are a bit too bold.
