I have a lack of expierence in using visibility checks. I created road profile , now i would like to check the visibility of it. Cuz my profile have hills , and the car driver must see other objects in the road . His sight in front should be 400 meters , eyes height 1 meter and the target in 400 distance should be seen by 1 meter tall.

I can record a movie of the drive along my alignment using the action recorder but I would like to record to a file that can be played in a windows media player.
Is this even possible?
I'm need to make a Map Check report on C3D2011, but I don't know how to do it. Since C3D everything have to be setup before it can be use, so my questions are: How do I setup map check? Or What do I need to do get map check report?

How to customize the reports that Civil 3d can generate to my firms needs. I have figured out how to change the appearance and precisions to the most of the numbers, but i still can not figure out a lot. Currently i am working on the output of the Parcel Map Check Report. If you look at the attachment i have an Image of what i have been asked to generate and an excel file of what i have been able to generate. I need to figure out how to remove the "," from the coordinates and how to rearrange/ change font of the way some things come out.

How can i check the elevations of 2 alignments that cross (junction)?
The localization team in Israel has added a utility that marks the junction on the profile view with a red flag and 2 marker lines, one for the existing ground and one for the elevation of the crossing alignments. The flag is not a civil3d entity, it's not dynamic and needs to be reset after each change.
Any better way of checking the elevations? (including adding a block or anything to the profile to show the other alignment name and elevation).
I am wondering if there is a way to modify the Map Check Report to include Acreage Calculations like it used to. I am only given the square feet and need both. I know I can calculate it easily, but it would be nice if it were there by default.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am creating exhibit drawings and legal descriptions for right-of-way and easement acquisitions. I'm using parcels to create the various objects for the exhibit drawings: parcels allow me to label the acquisition, area, and lines and curves. The parcel property gives me a 'mapcheck' description that I use to generate my legal description. All good.
How are people generating this sort of information for polylines? I will have polylines from my POB to my TPOB that I need to describe. I have artificially closed these polylines to create parcels from them so I can glean the information that I need, but that feels like a work-around.

When I run the Map Check report in C3D 2010, the Delta angle on curves displays to a tenth of a second, no matter what I do with settings. It should display to the whole second.

It is essentially the code as provided with C3D2009, modified to reduce the amount of paper required to print them out. There are some other optimizations (allow sorting by columns is one), but this was mostly done a few years ago and I do not recall everything I may have done. Projects included for C3D versions 2010-2012.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm doing a road project. i've got profile grades of existing left and right ditches. in some sections we're redoing the ditches so i've got proposed left and right ditch profiles. what i want to show is where i've got proposed ditch grades, i don't want to show existing ditch grades.
The new ditches happen intermittently on the road so i would need to be able to turn off the existing ditches at various places. is this possible without exploding my existing ditch grades?
I'm just looking for some basic information about geo-markers and am having a hard time finding anything. What exactly is the geo-marker, and what is it used for? Is it important to have referenced? I know how to set the coordinates and to turn the visibility off. I'm just wanting info about what the geo-marker is, and it's uses.

I have frozen the layer with the alignment on it in a viewport, but not the layer with the labels. However, when I regen, the labels disappear. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have some model boat plans (scanned images) and would like to convert them to 3D objects. I used a software img2cad for the conversion, and since the conversion is not perfect i have to redraw all the parts. So here are my questions:
1. For the parts i mostly used lines, splines and arc. What is the best way to join them, so later i can edit them to 3d solid object? I used join and it works well, however it creates a small angled edge at the end. (see image or zoom in dwg file).
2. For some of the parts the extrude command works only on the edges of the 2D object creating a hollow 3D object. How do i fill the inside?
3. In near future i would need to assemble all the parts and make the skeleton of the boat. Is there a way to check for object collision (if parts are too big for example to fit where they should)?
I also attached a file with two ribs of the boat as an example.
is there any way to check the entity selected by NonInteractivePickPoint? iwant to get the ownerid if the item selected is a 3d or 2d vertex. How is it written in vb.net?
