AutoCAD Civil 3D :: How To Generate (old-style) Map-check Information On A Polyline

I am creating exhibit drawings and legal descriptions for right-of-way and easement acquisitions. I'm using parcels to create the various objects for the exhibit drawings: parcels allow me to label the acquisition, area, and lines and curves. The parcel property gives me a 'mapcheck' description that I use to generate my legal description. All good.
How are people generating this sort of information for polylines? I will have polylines from my POB to my TPOB that I need to describe. I have artificially closed these polylines to create parcels from them so I can glean the information that I need, but that feels like a work-around.
I was wondering if there is a way that AutoCAD can automatically generate a polyline (or something similar) that would illustrate the desired direction for a route from linked database information. My taxation/assessment/water department would like a map showing the routes a water meter reader should take according to linked data on parcel rollnumbers. They want an arrow on a line showing a route that should be follwed for each zone/metered area.
I was wondering if you could generate a 3D poly line from a surface which I have sliced. I am trying to establish retaining wall heights in a cutting on an embankment. I have generated the slope using 2 3D polylines offset and edgesurfed between them. I then put my proposed footpath at the desired location. When I needed to slice the mesh I had to convert it to a surface. It worked but I now do not have any nodes that I can connect vertical lines to in order for me to design wall heights etc.
Is there a way to generate a 3D poly from the sliced edge of a surface.
I am wondering if it is possible to do a style update (or style update check) upon open of a drawing?
The example would be that I have stuff made from way back that the colors/dimension sytles ect dont match the current standard and upon opening a file where they are not current, it would either prompt to update immediatly OR update automatically with no prompting (preferred method).
I am doing a massive amount of updates from old files recently and to save myself 1 - 3 clicks per drawing would be wonderful.
Is there a way to search for a text style in a civil style? I have a text style that our company is trying to get rid of and I would very much like to not have to go through our 72 company styles.

If I manually change it to a child style and then check the values, they are the same as what I'm trying to set them to. If you use a "parent" style then these both work. Am I doing something wrong or this another limitation?

I have generated a TIN surface and change the style to "Slope". I want to create a legend for the surface, but the legend has no content, only the header.
I'm need to make a Map Check report on C3D2011, but I don't know how to do it. Since C3D everything have to be setup before it can be use, so my questions are: How do I setup map check? Or What do I need to do get map check report?
I have a lack of expierence in using visibility checks. I created road profile , now i would like to check the visibility of it. Cuz my profile have hills , and the car driver must see other objects in the road . His sight in front should be 400 meters , eyes height 1 meter and the target in 400 distance should be seen by 1 meter tall.
How do I generate a table that shows cut and fill quantities for comparing two surfaces similar to that what shows up in the panorama window. I am not working on a road project with an alignment.
I am trying to generate my quantities by creating sections with template to do the cut and fill, however after i create the corridor and the corridor surface which should use the bottom of the curb, instead it is using the top of the curb. How can i change it so that it uses the bottom of the curb. It is a road crossection which i used from toolpalette, CIVIL3D 2012
I work in Rail Development and I am trying to create an assembly that will automatically generate a rail/tie shape and label Top of Rail Elevations, Track name and number, and offset distance. I have been copying/pasting a block onto each track in every cross section. This takes way too long! I have attached an image of what I want the assembly to look like in the cross section.
Before now, I have been typing in all of that information, when there are 9 tracks and 77 cross sections.
Althout I have created the widening on my aliment and used a designer critery on my corridor, I can't achieve that the corridor use the widenig on the curves.
I need that the corridor generate the widening on the curves, I can't stake the corridor without widening.
If they have addressed the issue of being able to generate feature lines as a continuous linetype, like when you turn on linetype generation in a polyline? I can't find it anywhere and I would have thought this should have been addressed by now! Real basic need for plan creation!
I do a lot of visualization work I need a corridor top surface split by material FAST. before I used Corridor Solids but I don't have the extension in 2013. So I export to CivilView, so far so good, then attempt to roundtrip the mesh back in Civil3D and that is where things fall apart.
Export to DWG is not split by material
Export to 3DS results in a blank screen
Export to FBX comes in missing large chunks of mesh out of scale and in the wrong location
How to customize the reports that Civil 3d can generate to my firms needs. I have figured out how to change the appearance and precisions to the most of the numbers, but i still can not figure out a lot. Currently i am working on the output of the Parcel Map Check Report. If you look at the attachment i have an Image of what i have been asked to generate and an excel file of what i have been able to generate. I need to figure out how to remove the "," from the coordinates and how to rearrange/ change font of the way some things come out.
i am trying to do a print out of our lots within our proposed plat & need to do indivial closure reports for each lot. when i try an run a report i get Error - Invalid execute file.ive added new .dll files that I got off the net but they do not work either. which are located at C3D 2011/enu/Data/Reports/Net.
Is there a way to retrieve superelevation values from Alignment properties to show on, for example curve tables?. I would like to display the super information along with curve geometry information.
I created a corridor utilizing a profile, assembly and alignment. Worked well. I then created a surface from that corridor. The surface type should be displaying contours, but I do not see any. What am I doing wrong? The corridor display shows it covering the area that it should cover.
I did this once before and I had trouble with it that time as well. I remember the fix had something to do with adding code data from the corridor to the surface. I used a "+" button, but now have no idea where I did this at.
My Engineer has a Hec-ras file that he has been working on and I need to change some of the sections. I don't want to re-export all of my sections to a .goe file and lose the work he has already carried out.
Is there any way of exporting the necessary sample line information into a CSV file, as I believe this will be the best way to make the changes to the hec-ras data without losing the work which has already been carried out.
I have a corridor drawing with my corridor and have sample lines ever 25 feet. I would like to generate my sections in a seperate drawing. Is this possible?
(I am trying to keep different pieces to my project in different drawings.)
