I have two different assemblies, one has a normal batter slope to a table drain or embankment and the other is a kerb and channel. Refer attached.
When you apply these two assemblies in a joining regions, I get both assemblies at the same point, which causes the corridor surfaces to incorrectly triangulate.
I'm trying to use assemblies when creating a corridor. The Tool Pallette is emply but I can drag the assembiles in from the Catalog. I've also created an assembly using the ASC. Neither work when I try to use them. The error message is attached.
I'm using a network installation and I do not have the option of changing it to a DVD installation.
Is it possible to create jon between point feature and polygon feature which is not attribute based, but only geometry based.When point is inside polygon can I create automatic join between point and polygon so I can use joined attribute data table.
I know i can create "object data records" links between enclosed text and polyline but i want to do same thing using SDF format points and polygons. Can it be done without converting point feature label to text and polygon to polyline and then creating automatic links and then again converting polylines with object data to SDF format.
I have all of my data in an Oracle database (Gas Enterprise Model). I need to join the pipe (Line) with the meter (point) in order to have the attributes of both for a report.
A query on geometry in Oracle definitely did not work and doing an overlay analysis in Map3D strips the attribute data when I create a buffer. There is nothing to join on for the tables, A Network analysis will not work because the lines are for services and don't have their connected distribution.
While i am using Join Command, I Could not able to select all polylines and also could not able to make those are join together (which those are touching at one point).
How to do the above funtion?
How to join 2 alignments which are continuing a same road? Is it even possible ?
I have tried to explode them into polylines > join the polylines and then reconstruct the alignment again but it crashes on everything longer than 15 miles

arc was defined with line's end points and radius, so I'm positive that this drawing is continuous.

I am working in an Inventor Assembly .iam, I have about 250 fasteners (screws) that are constrained to a flat washer and lock washer. I would like to put them in as a single unit (sub assembly if you will) and then promote or explode them in the top level so that my bom has 250 screws, 250 washers, and 250 lock washers all at the same level, not associated to one another except thru the constraints that were entered in the original assembly. I have tried Promote but that doesn't work because it removes the washers from the original file and I end up with only 1 instance of the assembly. Am I approaching this incorrectly? Is there a better way? I run across this scenario with different components quite often.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIf you have created a sub assembly and inserted it into an upper level assemby, is there a way to bust up the sub assembly at that level?
The issue arising is the individual components need to be called out on the upper level, but in the drawing are all showing up as the same balloon.
How to get these crop circles where two pipes join, from time to time? (See attached inside red rectangle.) The pipes are connected at the same elevation in a straight run, but we need a vertical bend there, and hence the Null Structure.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've attached a screenshot of some "webbing" I have going on between regions in my corridor. As you can see on the left, there's the start of a left turn pocket lane, which is why I have two different assemblies. This is just one instance, but this is happening along my entire corridor. I've given up on trying to resolve and have made gaps in my corridor. But me being an engineer, gaps bother me and would rather figure out a solution. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with point codes?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a proposed road with a varying curb line. There is a minimum 5 foot tree lawn between the back of curb and sidewalk. I have used a lane transition and attached it to an alignment to get the curb to follow. Also used the urban sidewalk with buffer widths.
How do I connect the back of curb to the sidewalk and keep the sidewalk in the same offset from the baseline. In the attachment, I have used a zero inside boulevard width and slide the sidewalk over from the curb line in my assembly. Will this work?
I have Civil 3d UKIE. Since the installation of service pack 2 the British std kerb appears on the screen as 2circles approximately 2 meters apart.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to construct a complex corridor of urban highway. To simplify corridor i've made assemblies for each side of the road (see picture). This solves problem of countless number of regions (and assemblies) that I'll need to set if assemblies are for whole profile.
The problem with seperate assemblies for each side of the road is that I cannot connect them using Median subassembly because Marked point and Median are in different assemblies.
It sounds like the transition should happen automatically (although some tweaking may be required).
But for some reason, I'm NOT getting a transition.
I had one assembly for the entire length and the designer wanted to have the curb stop at 0+40 and from 0+40 to the end, he wanted NO CURB--just an EOP.
So I copied the assembly, modified the copy so that there was no longer a curb and attached the shoulder (that was previously connected to the curb) to the EOP.
So the codes should all be same. I just attached a dwg file (created/saved in 2012) with my two assemblies in it.

When I click on Tool Pallets, I get the Metric Subassemblies Pallet, even though my drawing units are in feet and the Properties Pallet that comes up is in feet. How do I bring up the Imperial Subassemblies Pallet?

How I can put the above mentioned Sub-Assemblies in a CUT condition? They all default to a Fill condition (Attachment Point at Top of Wall). I need it to have the attachment point at the Bottom of wall. I cannot seem to find where to do this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two assemblies that represent road cross section at two points along a corridor. I want the corridor to transition smoothly between the two cross section so that if I look at a section halfway between the two assemblies it will have an intermediate width. Doing this with a simple transition assembly doesn't seem to be the most efficient approach since my offset or target actually changes as one moves up the corridor. Is there a way to generate a polyline or some other type of entity that could be used as a target?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a database of points I am trying to import, and the point data for each point includes a hyperlink. I've created a set of custom User-Defined Property Classifications for all the data types in the point database, and I've created a point file format to use to import the points.
It's a database of existing curb ramps, the data includes things like widths, slopes, some text, and a hyperlink to the Google Streetview at each ramp. I've created a custom point label that will show the data I need to see at each ramp.
All goes great except that the import fails because of the hyperlinks. I've tested it by removing the hyperlinks from a small test portion of the data set, and the test points are then successfully imported. I suppose I can delete the hyperlinks from the entire database, but if there is a way to include the hyperlinks in the point import I would prefer that.

In uploading the Point input data into the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 software program, is it possible for me to add more Point Attribute items after Point Number, X, Y, Z? I need to have the chemical results/data attached to the (sampling) Point that has the Point #, X, Y, Z - like Point Number, X, Y, Z, Arsenic, Lead, Mercury in the input .txt (or .csv) file.

"The join option only results in a corner join regardless of whether you select anchor points to join or the entire path. However, for overlapping anchor points, if you want the option to select a smooth or corner join, then use Ctrl+Shift+Alt+J (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Option+J (Mac OS)."
1. We all understand that designing highways is not simple and I don't know in your country but in my area almost all the bridges come at an angle from the alignment/corridor. Now, how can you do that in Civil 3D ?
2. Can you insert an entire shape, let's say a culvert into the design / corridor and be able to show it in the 3d view preciselly like it will be in real ? what about showing it in profiles or sections ?
I have an offset assembly and I have forced the skew of the second alignment. (Is a simple basic lane + a linkslopebetweenpoints and a markedpoint placed at the left extreme of a basic road assembly)
As you can see, there are errors at the area in which we have the greater angle between cross sections. What are the limits of this C3D feature ? Above more that "x" degrees of cross sections directions difference C3D are going to fail ?
If I create / import a sub-assembly, where is it stored? Meaning is it embedded in one of the cuix files? What happens when my computer is upgraded? Or acad is re-installed?
What if I need a one-off sub-assembly--meaning that I'll only need it for THIS project? I don't want it in my pallette permanently in that case. Can I delete it from the pallette after I've added it to the Assembly?
I have a corridor with multiple assemblies along a 4 mile stretch of road. In certain locations the corridor is not not modeling the sidewalk. I checked all the targets and everything is good.

I have a super-e road assembly as shown that is running into the intersection of a future road stub. I can not figure out how to get the sidewalk to grade out in the intersection transition I have created for the curb return. Any way to get through this situation?

When I use generic subassemblies or subassemblies I have created in SAC there aren't labels such as slope or offset/elevation. At this point I am stuck creating labels in each of my section views and this can become very tedious.
