I cannot find a function in 2011 Civil 3d to export an alignment as an. RXL file onto the computer. I know that I can export an RXL directly into a Survey Controller via Trimble Link.

I´m using the Autocad Civil 3D 2013 and this just happens in one specific file.
I am able to export to SDF but I get nothing when trying to go the two shp formats available. was a "parcel", but i exploded to polyline.
Do i need a patch to make this work? I am a C3D newbie and am struggling wit h user interface, but know that map export command line looks like it is supposed to work.
I want to export my slope - table - legend to an excel or txt file.

I am trying to export polylines as a shape file. When I use the mapexport command, it asks me to save the file but the dialog box does not open after I name and save the shape file. How do i get this dialog box to open so I can use the map export command? I have Civil 3D 2014.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently encountered a problem when exporting C3D to V8 dgn. The proxy graphics are set to 1, and I'm using a 3D seed file. Once the file is exported, the dgn file size is no larger than the seed file, and I am being told that the file is completely blank. I've run a recovery, audit - everything I can think of the correct this. I even had a co-worker try and generate a dgn from the same file with the same result.

I need to export 3dpolylines from C3D 2013 to an ERSI SHP file.
Using the mapexport command I’m able to do this, however, the lines in the shp file don’t retain the layer name and colours that are in the C3D file.
Do I need assign ‘object data’ (or something similar) to the 3D polylines before exporting the shp file.
i need to export 7 million points from a tin surface to text file with only NEZ in comma delimited format for Surfer 9 software. right now i have the civil 3d surface. but the export to csv stock reporting tool sucks. why the hell do you open the file and why leave an empty row between data points? so it's not usable.
also i have 12gb ram at work and it can't export surface points to autocad format ran out of memory. this is with surface display showing points and just the "dot" style so it's autocad points after export. i was originally planning on using "dataextraction" command in autocad to export to csv. worked on a small batch of file. so i think may work for the bigger file. but i would never know because i can't even get the points into autocad.
also yeah i would love to simplify the surface but it's so buggy that you asked it to remove 80% of the points it only remove 100k points at most out of 7 million. so not usable.
last resort is i can program something in vb.net but not much motivation on doing so.
Is it possible to export a TIN file so a GIS user can use it with some Carlson software? He's having trouble using .XML's or DEM's. If I could find where ACAD stores the .TIN file for my surface, I'd just send that to him.

I have created the new Point UDP's and also Created a new Point File Format. Here lies the Problem, when I go to the Insert Tab in the Ribbon and pick import from XML. It gives me no choices to select a Point File Format? It just imports the file with just PNEZD data only, and not my additional Attributes.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI have looked everywhere for instructions on how to export a premiere pro project and sequence, and associated media, to final cut pro on another computer. Exporting the xml does not include the media files. Therefore when my editor opens up the xml file it fails. I have a feeling I need to use Media Encoder to export the media associated with the project. Yet I cannot find any guides or instructions for how to undertake this. My editor is using FCP 7 on another computer in another place, so I need to export 8 sequences/projects *with their media* to him via the internet (dropbox) so that he can do a final edit on his machine. I would even be happy just to be able to export a working AAF since that option also hasn't worked for us.

So I want to export a folder from LR onto one of my external hard drives however when I click to export my only choice is Desktop. I can open that "tree" as far as it goes but it NEVER shows Computer so I can select which external hard drive to export files to as a backup.
When I go to explorer from the start menu I can see all my files in Explorer including Computer with my external drive just not in LR.
I have restarted my computer, I have tried two different hard drive thinking it just might not recognize one of the drives but that isn't it either.
I have had this problem in the past and haven't been able to figure why sometimes I see my Computer and other times all I see is Desktop as an export option.
I can't find the location of the videos I export/render on my computer. How to change the location of where to save them. I used premiere elements before I used premiere pro. The interface changed on pro and I'm falling way behind on projects.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWe have a total of three machine at our office that are running 64-bit Windows 7 with Civil 3D 2013. Two of the three machines have problems with drawings that include AECC_Contours. When you try and start a polyline or line the mouse will begin to jump and lag. As you move the cursor off of the AECC_Contours the mouse returns to normal operation. I have looked around throughout forms and have yet to find anything that relates to this. Also I have disable Aero within Windows, thinking that may have been the issue. All three machines are running the same version of Civil 3D with the latest service pack.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI received a dwg file from my architect through e-mail. When I open it in Autocad LT 2004, a window pops up stating, "Drawing file is not valid." I forwarded the e-mail on to my boss with the same file and it opens perfectly on his version of Autocad LT 2004.
The only difference between our computers is that he is running Windows 7 and I am running Windows XP. The architect is running Windows 7.
I am currently using AutoCAD LT 2009 on my home computer. My client also has the same AutoCAD at a different geographic location. When I generate a drawing file at home and send it to my client’s computer via email the drawing appearance changes. It appears as though the .dwg file is corrupt in some manner. My dimensions are not in order the font has changed in scale and in type. Most of the text is just inadvertently scattered about.

one computer opens the drawing and the surface analysis by slopes shows perfectly, the othe computer opens same drawing and it shows no slope analysis but everything else. They can even change the style and analysis and can view slope arrows, elevations, etc.
We have a shared computer that a few co-workers all use C3D on. We each copied some clients standards to various C drive locations including some C:<user> folders. One user suddenly expierenced very slow opening of C3D (noted it kinda would stick at one of the Aecc...loading file) and once it opened, could not open a C3D file (alignment, profile, corridor type dwg). A small file with only text and no C3D files would open.
Other users could open these C3D files on the computer using their login, no slowness.
I realize this is vague and near impossible to pinpoint. I wonder if a Uninstall/Reinstall is a likely solution. This may require copying standard files again (a real pain).
How to Return Borrowed License From a Different Computer.
I ordered a new computer with C3D 2013 installed. I also had C3D on my old computer and had borrowed a license from our company’s server until the end of July. C3D has since been uninstalled from the old computer without first having the license returned. Now I don’t have a license for my new computer.
Is there some way of releasing the borrowed license from the old computer? If I reload C3D back on the old computer will it recognize the old borrowed license and allow me to release it?
I just became a part of the Student Community here, and downloaded Inventor Pro. I actually had some problems right off the bat: some kb971153 file was missing, so I had to find a hotfix from MS and install it before it would let me install Inventor.
Anyway, I opened up Inventor, and found that within seconds of loading up a new .ipt file, my computer would freeze. I can confirm that ctrl+alt+del, mashing several other buttons in frustration, and thinking of creative ways to use four-letter words to describe the situation don't work. As far as I can tell, .dwg files work just fine, it's just the .ipt ones that are kick my blood pressure up a notch.
If I remember correctly, the hotfix had to do with individual licensing or something, so it shouldn't be the cause right? Everything else on the computer works just fine; if I downloaded the wrong fix or something, I figure I'd see some problems with the computer overall. So I'm lost. Maybe it has to do with the stuff the .ipt file is trying to load or access but, either way, it's causing me to have to turn my computer via power button, something I'd rather avoid.
I'm trying to decide whether it is worth keeping up with the C3D releases every year. One thing I wanted to try was to see if 2014 worked any better on the key things I need, but I don't want to stuff up my 2013 installation. know if I can do a separate install safely?

I have a few problems with my autoCAD 2010 version on my new computer.When I make a few hatches, there is a possibility that my entire computer freezes and the only way out is a hard shut down of my computer.
The same problem also appeared when I tried to open a drawing direct in autoCAD or when I search the file to make an exref into the drawing.
Is it possible to export created surface from civil to revit architecture? If yes , How? And if its not possible - maybe i can somehow import cogo points to revit?

I currently have code to read each cell in a sheet, but unfortunately some of the Excel sheets have in excess of 5000 cells and it is taking too long to read. So I am switching to another method.
The program will check dates of TXT files and XLS file to make sure TXT files are current (if not, open and recreate TXT files).Then read the TXT files (much faster).
Where I am getting stuck is 2 places -
Get the names of each sheet in the excel file (not always a known name)
Save each sheet as separate TXT file.
