I am using Civil3D 2010. I am trying to export the offset/elevation data from my cross sections to a text file or excel file so i can paste the info into another program. so far i've been labeling the offset/elevation info on the section and typing it into excel by hand.
View 9 Replies View RelatedHow to insert a linked excel table into my drawing, however I have not figured out how to add rows to the table, the option is greyed out. I can insert rows above and below the (inserted) table but not anywhere in the middle.
I've tried everything I can think of, even removing all the formatting in the .xls spreadsheet to no avail. The cells are unlocked, I can manipulate the data, but not being able to insert rows is really hindering the efficiency of using a data linked table.
I am just wondering whether FIELD category can access the OBJECT DATA Table ?

I want to copy just two pieces of information from a pipe network into a table. I would just generate an automatic pipe table, but those are not editable. Any quick way to copy and paste the pipe lengths and names in a network into a "regular" table?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI need to produce a better standard table for our company, but need to know how it would be possible to display only either the START STAKE VALUE/ STATION or END STAKE VALUE/STATION in the appropriate column. If I can achieve this i would not need to details for straight segments as indicated in the details column.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been provided with Surveyed Utility Locates along an Existing Roadway. These are provided to show conflicts between the New Storm Sewer System and Existing Utilities such as Water, Sewer, Gas, Elec, etc. The survey however is incomplete as it was prepared a few years ago and the Storm Sewer has just been designed. Yes, I can create points and provide them to the County Surveying department. However, before this is done, I must provide an easily-understood format of the new survey locations to the County Project Management.
To provide a Point Table which references the Surveyed Points' location in reference to the roadway stationing (Alignment). I have attached what the point table is to look like.
I am unable to find the desired data reference in the currently provided data field selection. Am I just missing it or is this a "Wish List" item?
I want to edit some values in the data table of a shape file (*.shp) with AutoCAD Map 3d 2013. Every time I alter a value in data table it takes about 30 seconds until AutoCAD Map saves (?) the value. I have to wait 30 second until I can continue working. Why is this so slow?
The shape file has 7000 lines and is stored on a local drive.
I have a master shape file that contains parcel ID, owner, tax info., etc. I have another file ( access 2003 -open to better file format suggestions-) which contains parcel ID and a "yes" or " no" entry for whether or not the parcel needs a new water meter. All I want to do is add the water meter information into the other shape file. This would create one shape file with one table with all the information that I need.
Ultimately I will use the information to do a map query and find out spatially where i need new water meters.
Right now i have the master shape file connected though the “Connect to Data” feature. I also have the new data added to the drawing though the Data sources------>attach under the “Map Explorer” Task pane. I attached access file (ver. 2003 .mdb) which has two columns “Parcel ID” and “Meter”.
I right click on the shape file under the display manager and select”Create a Join;” however my water meter table is not listed as an option. Will this not work?
Plan B - I tried to Create and connect to the access file as an ODBC connection. Followed this guy’s directions to a T [URL]. But when i populate my table under the fdo connection the column headings exist ( “parcel ID” and “Meter”) but the actual data is missing. Am I missing something important?
Note: I am running c3d 2012 on a Win 7 64 Bit machine. I also removed office 32 bit apps and installed 64 bit apps to see if that would solve the problem. No go.
So I just upgraded to MEP 2013 last week and am in a bad situation where when I keep making my data link tables to a range on an excel table the file name's full address is not staying when I go to insert the table.
(ex. D:/Documents/JB Plans/NK.xlsm is just NK.xlsm when I try to insert the table)
Does some defaulting or setting that I haven't found involving this issue?
I am repeatedly running into the same problem of a data linked table losing its formatting upon closing and opening the file.
Each time this happens, I am forced to enter the properties tab and return the height of the text and the height of the cell to the size that it had originally been. Is there an option that I have not seen? What is continuously causing this error?

The PLS I work under inquired if the pipe and structure tables provided in our construction plans are able to be exported to excel. The only way I know how is to use the reports manage. The problem is, the provided Pipes reports don't contain all the data we are looking for. How do I modify, or create a new, Pipe report? It seems like it should be really easy to export the data to excel..
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to embedd data in a table so that a user can select from a group of data within one cell?
I use this technique quite often in Excel. One cell in a table can have various values: A, B, C, or D. While another cell can have a different set of values to choose from: BLUE, RED, ORANGE, or PURPLE. The user can pull down an arrow (similar to a dynamic block) and choose from a set list of values.

I should add I also tried the "Incremental Stationing Reporting" from the Profiles Report... However it doesn't recognize the profiles I've created? I get the "No FG profiles in....." even though there are?

I can export the parcels to xml and Terramodel will import them, but it seems to import them as lines. The Surveyor wants points to be able to do a map check in Terra Model and program the data collector. I am not seeing a create points from parcel function anywhere from 2004 to 2012.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI imported survey data from a file into the drawing and created a surface from the points and figures. No problem. Engineer wanted to change the datum from assumed to known. At this point all figures have been copied to a new layer flattened and changed to 2D polylines in order to hatch. Then the figures reimported. I raised all the points with the edit datum and raised the figures with edit survey figures. Surface was adjusted and tweaked. Everything was fine. I open the drawing and all the figures are back at assumed datum and the points are on the right datum. Now when I tweak the surface it uses the bogus elevations from the figures. How can I get my figures to save the adjusted elevations?

Is there a way to force the table and table text height to stay constant despite the scale? I can do it for Point Label Styles with an Expression. But in 2011 there is no way to build an expression for a table style.
I want to create tables in the drawing where the points are and then plot them from a drawing they're Xrefed in to. The tables are too small but zooming in doesn't make them any bigger because the scale of the viewport changes and they adjust.
