View 6 Replies View RelatedWhy does Exporting to DXF (any version other than 2013) fail, every single time?
First, we always get this error during the save. The save appears to finish OK in spite of the error.
But when you try to open the DXF using DWG Trueview, we get this error.
If we export out to 2013 DXF, the resulting file can be opened, but this doesn't do us much good.

i'm exporting a surface from 2013 to be used in 2010 for presentation. works great but the contour interval is not the same as the surface i'm exporting. working in 5/25 contours...xml import comes in with 2/10 contours. looked for a setting but can't seem to find.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use the "Export to pdf" function as opposed to plotting as a pdf because the "Export" function seems to make a much smaller file size. However, when I "Export to pdf" some of my layers are not showing up in the created pdf.
The pdf created when I plot to pdf looks fine. I am using the "current layout" and "current" page setup options in the "Export to pdf", so it is using the same plotting options as plot to pdf, but the "Export" function is not displaying some layers.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to export blocks INSIDE of another dwg?
Background info:
At my company, we have a series of template .dwgs that get copied every time a new project is created. We update the template files as we create new blocks, styles, etc...
When I'm working in a specific project and create a useful block, it would be nice to export that into the template file without having to open the template drawing and insert/redefine it.
Is there some way a person can export the pressure network in c3d 2014 to a 3d model (3ds,revit,IMX)? IThis can be done with the sewer network but no joy on the pressure network. I would really like to use Infrastructure modeller to assist in the design of our project.
I really like the new tool for pressure networks, but the fact that I cant export a 3d model.
I have tried the "export to dwg" command and when on "simple" drawings behaves properly.
on some others though (dwg's with shortcuts/alignments/surfaces/corridors/xrefs in any combination) will not export any file. Are there limitations to it tha I should be aware of?

I had this working in C3D2011 but after having severe issued with it in 2014 I went back and tested in 2012 & 2013 where it failed as well.
If I collect all supported styles using C3D 2014 & SincpacC3D's Export Styles command and export them to a newly created Database, when trying to open that new drawing it will crash C3D with no CER. Trying to run Recover on it results in a few screen flashes and back to the original drawing/screen and no opening of that new file. However, if I limit the selected styles to Export to just label styles, the drawing opens but I get this warning:
But wait, C3D2014 IS the latest version! What the heck is going on inside that code? I cannot show the full code, but the gist of it is that creating and saving a new DWG file is pretty straight forward. As soon as I add in the StyleBase.ExportTo(exportIds, outDb, dupHandler); the file becomes highly unstable.
Again, this worked well at one time, but it sure is not now and I cannot find any reason for it to be creating these bad drawings.
The title says it all. I need to get my pipe network into Cadworx in all its 3d glory. What types of formats they accept for importing? (Civil 3D 2013)

I've lined up an image myself in Civil 3D over a topographical survey but now I want to export the image as a geo-referenced image so it can be brought into Mapinfo and Tuflow in the right place, coordinate-wise.
My question is - is it possible, and how do you do it!
Months back I did this project with multiple surfaces and exported them to Google Earth with no problem. Today, I'm trying to update a surface with some changes. After the changes, I tried to re-export it to Google Earth, but for some reason it's coming in really small. I have my units and zones set to what they have always been. The surface is highlighted in yellow, but it should take up roughly the size of the red circle.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHere is the problem; corridor and its surface, etc are designed but there is no "obvious" way to get coordinates in order to layout the road in the field. There is the option to get COGO points from corridor via "create COGO POINTS" / "CREATE GROUND DATA" but this option refers only to points based on baseline in any station of the corridor and not in any station i would like to.

Do i need a patch to make this work? I am a C3D newbie and am struggling wit h user interface, but know that map export command line looks like it is supposed to work.
I have a Civil 3D project with piping networks, grading etc. The servicing and grading plans are on layout tabs (5 of each 10 in total). When I would go export layout Civil 3D would go into not responding mode and crash. This caused quit a bit of stress as we had to get the drawings out to meet a deadline.
After investigating this issue, we identified that we had save our layer states in the layer manager. Delete the viewport on the layout tabs, draw a new viewport and then reinstate the layer states for each layout. This resolved, the crashing issue.

I'm in a situation where i have to export a civil3d 2013 drawing to autocad 2000, but i don't want to send everything in the drawing, just the final drawing from model space. is there a way to not need export the drawing and then delete the objects i don't want to send? It seems like a simple task but i work with some people that can't handle simple things like that, so aside from trying to find new co-workers, what can i do?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been working on trying to find the best way to export a variety of different Civil3d objects into 3ds max. The one object type that seems to continue to evade me are pipe networks. Any good way to export these to 3ds max? I don't care about having them dynamically linked so much as rendering the part materials in model as they show up in Civil3d.

My Engineer has a Hec-ras file that he has been working on and I need to change some of the sections. I don't want to re-export all of my sections to a .goe file and lose the work he has already carried out.
Is there any way of exporting the necessary sample line information into a CSV file, as I believe this will be the best way to make the changes to the hec-ras data without losing the work which has already been carried out.
Using the export to DEM functionality for surfaces?
My understanding is that it is supposed to use USGS dem format, but I'm having trouble getting the resulting dem to show up intact in ArcGis. The extents are off and it chopped off the northern half of the site...?
I think this is a Coordinate System issue, but can't figure out where I can change anything...
two screenshots attached. one shows surface in CAD, the other in GIS.
It seems that the object was created by the Geotechnical modules. It cannot be exported to AutoCAD. I tried to use the command "Export or Explode", all object will be disappeared e.g. borehole onto the profile, geologies contour line onto the profile… after clicked the commands.
