AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Converting Decimal Degrees To Point ID
May 15, 2012
Is there a way to convert decimal degrees to a point id? I have tried inputting the decimal degrees in as point but land no where close to the coordinate it should.
How do I get the export parcel ananlysis to show degrees minutes and seconds instead of the default decimal degreees. My direction settings are set to DMS, but I can't see where to change arc deltas...
I've got a cut./fill plan with red and green surface spot level labels (derived via a grid) but wonder if there is a way to make the decimal point coincident with the with "X" marker.
I have a dxf file from a client created using autocad. What these coordinates mean -40 558.37E and -46 244.43 N. These are UTM? I need to convert to decimal degrees. How do I do this?
Is there any way to change the format of Lat/Long in a C3D point list display from degrees, minutes, seconds to decimal degrees? I have looked pretty hard, but can't find anything. The geodetic calculator only does one item at a time, I think. Any plug-ins out there? I suppose this could be on a wish list as well.
I am using R2012.and have ended up manipulating point values in Excel-not a quick way of going about it.
I did, a couple of months ago, a part with a rule containing some input boxes. It worked without a bug and set it as a specific template, on Inventor 2012.
I tried to reuse it as a template without changing its rule on Inventor 2013. When the input box pops out and ask the value it needs, if I type "0.2" it says that "string's conversion "0.2" in a 'double' type isn't valid". But if I type "0,2" I have absolutely no problems.
I have a short macro to add the compliment angle to all the bend angles on an Inventor 2014 drawing. I want it to always show one decimal point on the compliment angle, but if that would be '0' then it doesn't show it. I.e. in the attached picture I want it to be 58.0 (122.0) DOWN.
Sub Test() Dim oDoc As DrawingDocument Set oDoc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument Dim oView As DrawingView Set oView = oDoc.ActiveSheet.DrawingViews(1) Dim oNewDimStyle As DimensionStyle Set oNewDimStyle = oDoc.StylesManager.DimensionStyles.Item("RASOR")
I use the rotate tool to design gauges, like clocks, a lot. I hold the ALT button and click on the center of my drawing and then a window pops up to enter in what degree I want my object to be. Currently the decimal point only allows for hundredths, ex. 45.25 degrees. Is there any way to change this to thousandths or even higher, ex. 45.25125? I've attached a screenshot to show you what I mean.
Im trying to create a line that starts a one point then it moves 90 degrees one direction then 90Deg in another direction so i get like a maze effect. When i use the line tool and draw a line holding down i think SHIFT to make it 90deg when i let go to finish the line and then try and draw on the end of the line i cannot! It just gives me a grab handle for the end of the line but i want to continue drawing the line adding to it so to speak.
I have used stringer connect in the past and it seemed that my traverse shots (which went to four decimal places 0.0000) that were in my raw file were converted to a fbk file and it held the decimal places. Now when I use it, the program rounds my shots to three decimal places (0.000) which changes the locations just slightly. I don't think I changed any settings deliberately. How can I get my four decimal places back?
How to change the number of decimal places of the elevation of points?
as the points are labeled with their elevations, I couldn’t find how the number of the decimal places of the elevation be chosen. In this case, I wanted to let the number of the decimal places to be zero.
How to set the number of the decimal places to be zero or 1, for example? how to sepcify it height (size)?
The defaul label style for the Elevation of points is set to 3 decimal places. We are trying to change the elevation display to 2 decimal places. We have tried the directions in the following discussion: [URL].......
Which is:
Toolspace
->Settings -->Drawing name --->Edit Drawing Settings ---->Ambient Settings ----->Elevation ------>Precision -> We modify from 3 to 2 decimal places.
It does not modify the display settings.
Also:
Toolspace
->Settings -->Drawing --->Point ---->Label Styles ----->(right-click) Edit label styles ------>Layout ------->Text -------->Contents --------->click on the "..." (three points) button
(Open "Text Component Editor - Contents"
--------->Select Point Elevation in the driop down list. ---------->Precision: Set to 0.01 ------------>Ok, Apply, etc...
i have a simple fence line type with "x"s....if i draw the line straight up or to the right it looks perfect. but if i draw it anywhere to the left then the Xs are off centered.
I'm using civil 3d 2008 and trying to lable my pavement radius with Line and Curve Label but the delta setting is only in decimal, how do i get it to read degrees, minutes and seconds.
Civil 3d 2012..I used 3d orbit, it crashed. My points, point groups and newly updated description keys are gone.I have looked at all my backup files etc, and they do not want to display.
Im still new to Civil 3D and i would like to know how to connect inported points using 3D polylines. I imported my points from Excel in a PNEZD format. How do i get the 3d poly line to snap to my points so I can Connect them? someone mentioned using a feature line to connect the points but im not sure how or what that would do.
I have a database of points I am trying to import, and the point data for each point includes a hyperlink. I've created a set of custom User-Defined Property Classifications for all the data types in the point database, and I've created a point file format to use to import the points.
It's a database of existing curb ramps, the data includes things like widths, slopes, some text, and a hyperlink to the Google Streetview at each ramp. I've created a custom point label that will show the data I need to see at each ramp.
All goes great except that the import fails because of the hyperlinks. I've tested it by removing the hyperlinks from a small test portion of the data set, and the test points are then successfully imported. I suppose I can delete the hyperlinks from the entire database, but if there is a way to include the hyperlinks in the point import I would prefer that.
In uploading the Point input data into the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 software program, is it possible for me to add more Point Attribute items after Point Number, X, Y, Z? I need to have the chemical results/data attached to the (sampling) Point that has the Point #, X, Y, Z - like Point Number, X, Y, Z, Arsenic, Lead, Mercury in the input .txt (or .csv) file.
How to set a default point style for point groups? Whenever I import survey points, I always put them into their own point group, so I can display each day's worth of survey data differently. For some reason, the point style always defaults to a certain style (our control point symbol). I'd like it to default to Basic, so I don't have to change this every time. Is it a template drawing setting somewhere?
First time importing into 2012-have csv file that I imported. Coordinates land in right spot. Local system-No transformations/State Plane zones attached. When I look at them with tracking everything is okay. When I export the points they are the same I imported.
I am trying to get point 1234 to show a label that says Point #1234 and then in a grading plan have that same point show up as a spot elevation. I have tried making two point groups "Point #" and "Spot Grades" which include the same points in them with two different label styles for each group, however the point seems to only want to take one label style at a time.
I'm in the process of creating 3D points (as an overlay) on some laser scanned data (using RiScan, it's just 3d dimensional data, with a northing, easting and RL) and unfortunately the only export option is to export to .dxf... Which is fine but when I export, the information has the point ID as the layer name.
I am aiming at getting this data into another program to analyse and it needs the point ID or name to be my annotation, as opposed to the layer.
So what I need is a way of converting the names of each individual points layer, to the point ID.
Question 1: Is it possible to change a Survey COGO point to a regular COGO point so you can edit the datum?
If not:
Question 2: Is it possible to transfer the survey database from one office to another so the end office can make datum changes to the survey COGO points. Will the link between the file and the database still apply?
Anytime i have to go backwards it is such a hassle. In this case i need to convert it to 2010 with no aec objects.
I have etransmit to 2010 exploded aec, but the wipeouts become 3d faces. I feel i spend way more time then it should take. Are there any third party softwares?
