I received a drawing from one of our consultants and somehow can't open any version of it they've sent.Already tried recovery and referencing.I don't which version of Civil 3D they use but my is 2013.
However I can open it in DWG Viewer and Global Mapper.
I have autocad civil 3d 2008 in my pc. From last 2 days I got a different problem i.e. when I am selecting open / save command from File menu graphical file select explorer is not opening just message in the command window . Previously I used to select files using graphical file explorer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have found recently that surfaces that are sampled in profile views are not synchronized when the drawing is opened. This is incredibly frustrating when I'm just opening a file to plot a new copy. If I forget to resynchronize the drawing, the sampled profiles will not plot.
Is there a system variable I might try to toggle?
After a recent crash civil 3d now asks me to type in the full path and file name for a file i want to open after selecting the open option on the menu or toolbar.i know there is a variable that requires re setting but i don't know how.

View 9 Replies View RelatedHaving a small issue with Civil 3D 2013 recently ( I think). The last month or so, it's been automatically running regen when I open a drawing. No problems there, where the problem comes in is if I open an exported drawing (from this computer) or a drawing from someone else computer any polylines in the drawing vanish.
I can just run an undo to get the polylines back, but any time I paste something into the drawing all my polylines vanish again. So my fix at the moment is to undo the regen, and then copy and paste my drawing into a new drawing.
Is this just something corrupted I need to do a reinstall to fix, or is there something I might be missing?
EDIT: Also thought I should point put that I'm using an Nvidia Quadro 600 video card running the latest drivers. I have not installed any patches or hotfixes for Civil 2013
I don't know how I had done this before. When I had a previous version of autocrat I could Open autocrat and it would not Open drawing 1. I'm wanting to know if it is possible to have this feature again in civil 3d. Both in 2012 and 2011 civil 3d.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe just recieved 2014 C3D upgrade from 2012. I opened a 2012 dwg and saved in the 2013 file format. now when i attempt to open the drawing in 2014, C3D freezes while loading the drawing. It can't seem to get past "reading triangles from file". Weird thing is i can open a copy of the original 2012 DWG and work for minutes or hours in 2014 saving many times along the way and if i close the DWG and attemp to re-open, it freezes up everytime. I have done this same procedure with other DWG's and don't have any issues.

This has been happening using C3D 2014:
Sometimes when I start C3D and hit F2 to open the text window it just flashes very quickly and won't stay open. Usually I will run a few other commands and then it will work properly. This only happens when I initially open the program.
When I open the software and try select "open", I have to type in the name of the drawing and path on the command line, it won't allow me to browse for the drawing or show recently used drawings. I can work around this by typing in the path and name, but it is inconvenient. Is there a setting that I need to change?

I would expect the formula editor dialog box but I see nothing ...
If a do click or couble click I have the same peticion "Choose a file for formula".....

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to select the text of an item in the open recent list the recent list will disappear before I can select it. I've discovered that I must carefully move my mouse pointer down the left column that precedes the entries in order to select any of them. Autodesk, could you fix this so that anywhere on each item is selectable and the recent list stays open until the mouse moves off of it?

I can design a network of open ditches and pipes in Storm and Sanitary Analyzes to handle the flows required but when I export them back into Civil 3D the open ditches disappears. How do I add open ditches to the pipe network?

The command _AeccLandXMLIn appears in the command line, but there is no dialog box and no further action from Civil3D. How I can get this to work?
I ran into a similar problem with the normal "Open File" dialog box, and had to run a FILEDIA command to turn that dialog box back on. Is there a command like that to turn on and off the Import LandXML dialog box?
