I am trying to import a LandXML surface into my project. However, when I click the "LandXML" button in the "Import" tab, absolutely nothing happens. The command _AeccLandXMLIn appears in the command line, but there is no dialog box and no further action from Civil3D. How I can get this to work?
I ran into a similar problem with the normal "Open File" dialog box, and had to run a FILEDIA command to turn that dialog box back on. Is there a command like that to turn on and off the Import LandXML dialog box?
when I import PNEZD format .csv using import wizard the coordinates get transformed. all points are shifted about 20' in northing and 5 feet in easting. I have to use the import wizard w/ survey database in order to process linework codes.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to export my SSA pipes using XML and import them back into C3D 2012. Everything looks ok, but my HGL and EGL lines do not appear when I turn them on in my pipe style. Is there a way to get these lines on in my C3D profile without hand drawing them in?
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow to use SSA 2011 standalone version (We're still using 2011 C3D here). I already have my catchments, flow paths, and impervious areas drawn with polylines in separate C3D DWGs. The SSA User Manual says that I can import elements from DWGs and that's what I'm trying to do. But SSA keeps saying that it's unable to read the DWG files. I closed C3D, so they are not open elsewhere. I've restarted SSA multiple times. I've tried to import 4 different DWGs so far and the only one that works is the "topo" drawing with the ground contours. It says it can't read the other ones.
My goal here is to use SSA to make a SWMM model of a storm sewer line. In the past, I've input the data to SWMM manually after calculating it with C3D. I was hoping that SSA would automate alot of that work for me. Should I pursue this effort or just punt now and go back to doing it manually before my project budget is blown?
I created a fbk with trimble business center. The fbk is all coordinates. C3D 2012 implys this fbk is all control points.
Is there a way to import a fbk so that c3d reads the points as non-control points?
Is there a way to change the points attributes to non-control?
Is there a toggle in C3D so I can edit multiple points before regenerating the network?

I'm using C3D 2014. I created a pipe network, exported it to Hydraflow Storm Sewer, perfermed an analysis, and have HGL/flow data. When trying to import the .STM file, nothing happens. Here's what it does:
1) Import .STM into a Blank/New Drawing -> Creates a pipe network with correct IE, Size, and HGL/Flow Data
2) Import .STM into design drawing -> Choose to Update Network -> No change in network (IE, HGL, etc.)
3) Import .STM into design drawing -> Choose to Create a New Network -> Does not create a new network
I've tried closing C3D, and checking, still no change.
I have the attributes and units I want mapped between the shp file and the import wizard but everthing still imports with default values. (like pipe size or elevation.)
The only thing that is correct is the location. I see a few people have reported this but there aren't any solutions.
I am trying to import a DGM file into Civil 3D.I do this by adding a DGM file to a surface through prospector>surfaces>surface>definition>dgm files,
however the problem I am having is that it defaults to DEM file types which through research I have found out is our american counterparts version of the DGM.
Isn't there a way to import or insert a geo-referenced pdf (Geo PDF) into Civil 3D using the Planning and Analysis tools?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter analyzing a storm system in SSA or Storm Sewers I’m exporting it to a .stm file. When importing to CAD it recognizes the existing pipe network and asks to update it which works but it adds two horizontal purple lines in the profile which are attached to one of the pipes in the profile. If you erase the purple lines it erases the pipe with it.
Things I tried already with no success:
-Erase profile and re-create it
-Erase alignment and re-create it
-Erase all pipes before import (so it would import as new, not update)
-Try LandXML for export/import (this wouldn’t update pipes, it just brought in a whole new network and messed up all the styles/parts)
Here is what it looks like:

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got an SVG file, it was generated by a program which generates such things, its completely valid according to the W3C validator. If I try to open it or import it into Corel X5, X5 crashes. I send off a WER to Corel hopefully (it says it sends it but one never knows for sure.)
My system Win XP (32 bit, SP3), 3.5GB of RAM, 500+GB free hard drive space..Corel X5 - I am pretty sure it has SP2 applied it calls it self 10.2.0.661 in the About menu.
Is there any way to copy a project from Final Cut Pro (fcp) and open in VideoStudio? I have someone who has done hundreds of hours of work on a video and I'd like to take over the project... but he used FCP.
I know I can have him produce a the video and then open it back up as a video, but I'm hoping to avoid the loss inherent in such a move.
Certain pdf files will not import even though they look as if they are when I chose to merge. Same thing when I try to open. These very same files can be imported (placed) into Indesign. I have checked layers and there is only one (the visible current one which shows a pdf in the layer properties. It just is not visible though.

The screen blacks out and when it turns back on, I get a notification saying "Display Driver AMD successfully recovered from an error".. and the Mudbox window remains black. What's more, when this happens, Maya crashes too!
Some more system specs: (more in attachment)

AMD ATi Radeon HD5870 with CrossFireX (tried disabling Crossfire, but problem persists)
Does it might be an issue with my graphics card driver? I don't want to upgrade the driver unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary. I'd be glad to even toss out 2012 and get back to 2011 if that's stable..

View 8 Replies View RelatedIn Civil 3D 2014 while import .las or .asc file using point cloud I keep getting an error in processing data message.
I have in the past brought in the data successfully (2012, though not often)?
Datum and projection are correct, the data goings in to ArcGIS(had GIS group five the file a try).
The error message in not any more specific than "there was an error processing data"
I'm having an issue within the DGNIMPORT command related to a mapping setup that only partially maps..
I'm using the DGNIMPORT command in a nearly empty civil3D drawing. I created a mapping setup to map over the levels to layers, the line styles to linetypes and the line weights. The levels successfully become layers, the lineweights are mapped appropriately... but the Linetypes are NOT.
I've attached two screen shots to illustrate the issue. The first shows the window with my mapping setup.
The second shows the 'preview' for the setup (Microstation Linestyles 1,6,7 are sent to continuous instead of to the 3 line types I created for the mapping process...)
I need to import .dgn elevation data (DEM?) into Civil 3D. When I attempt MAPIMPORT, DGNIMPORT, DGNATTACH, or from the "Insert" ribbon selecting "Import" and .dgn as the file type, Civil 3D will not respond and has to be closed and reopened.
The information likely includes surface and/or breakline information. Please see the attached (change file format from .txt to .dgn).
And if Civil 3D 2013 simply cannot import this information, does the Infrastructure Design Suite/Civil3D 2014 can?
I executed Edit in Storm Sewers to work on the Pipe Network in Civil 3D. I made some changes in Storm Sewers, now I want to Import back to Civil 3D.
Nothing is happening in Civil 3D when I try to Import with either of the choices, picking Overwrite or to Create a new pipe network. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
I have attached the drawing file and the STM file.

If I create / import a sub-assembly, where is it stored? Meaning is it embedded in one of the cuix files? What happens when my computer is upgraded? Or acad is re-installed?
What if I need a one-off sub-assembly--meaning that I'll only need it for THIS project? I don't want it in my pallette permanently in that case. Can I delete it from the pallette after I've added it to the Assembly?
is it possible to import scales from one drawing to another?

It would be nice if I could have these parameters selected by default instead of having to check them both with every shp file I import. Is this possible?
