I need to import .dgn elevation data (DEM?) into Civil 3D. When I attempt MAPIMPORT, DGNIMPORT, DGNATTACH, or from the "Insert" ribbon selecting "Import" and .dgn as the file type, Civil 3D will not respond and has to be closed and reopened.
The information likely includes surface and/or breakline information. Please see the attached (change file format from .txt to .dgn).
And if Civil 3D 2013 simply cannot import this information, does the Infrastructure Design Suite/Civil3D 2014 can?
Attached is a dwg file that refuses to complete the surface triangulation. Can some try this? The maximum triangle length is set to off. I'm out of guesses. If I move the furthest point around it will complete the surface but just not in it's current location. Point number 69
how to import my 2006 ctb files into 2013. I found 2006 file thru options, file, plotter path. Copied to plotter path in 2013. It showed up but did not plot correctly.
I am designing pressure pipe network for water supply line in civil 3d 2013.In that ,I am not able to insert 90 degree bends, change pipe properties know that there is default bends available in civil 3d but I need more fittings and different dia pipe. I asl know that in C:program dataAutodeskenupressure pipe fittings in that all fittings are available and SSL there is .*sqlite file available. But I Don't know to how to import this pipe fittings in civil 3d 2013.
A colleague was working on a drawing yesterday in AutoCAD 2013 when it crashed. Since then the drawing has refused to open in AutoCAD 2013. It also does not open Trueview. It will however open in previous version of AutoCAD. We tried to export it to .dxf as well but they are corrupt. We also tried to attach it to a new drawing as an Xref and as a block, both were met with an instant fatal error and the closure of AutoCAD.
We have tried auditing, purging, resaving, using backs-ups. None of them will open in AutoCAD 2013 any more. The drawing closes without attempting to open with no error messages. It just loads up the default drawing(x).dwg.
Essentially, I've got a bunch of extruded polylines - so, some 3-d shapes - that I'm viewing in a new layout/'viewport' (?), which is set to SW Isometric view in '2D wireframe' viewing style. I've got my lines in different colors, mapped to be all black but different line widths in a custom Plot Style .ctb file.
So, when I change the 'page setup' to "display plot style", everything seems fine. All the lines go black in the viewport, and it seems as though I've configured everything correctly. When I preview an export to .pdf, however - or actually export it - this is lost. The export comes out in color.
I've done exporting using both EXPORTPDF, and PLOT, in both cases making absolutely certain that the .ctb file is being linked correctly (with EXPORTPDF, I've done it both using the 'current' page settings, and also 'override'), and with the PLOT, using the DWG to PDF converter,
I've looked through EXPORTSETTINGS, EXPORT...
On the same computer, with another earlier, simpler file, I have no issues accomplishing what I want. For additional information/to make things more annoying for me, at this stage, the previous file which DID work seemed to conserve layer information, and allowed me to edit individual lines later, if necessary... This colored "I don't care about your plot styles I'm not going B/W" file seems to just be a flat image.
I've compared the two files in two tabs extensively, and can't seem to find ANY other difference, in any of the settings...

PC running Windows 8, Autocad 2014, Adobe Reader XI... Tried both the DWG to PDF and Adobe PDF plugins to export to PDF...
I have LR4, and Windows 7. After installing LR4, I could not import mov files. I rebooted, and no change. I have 8 GB of ram, and a duel core Intel processor. I tried to associate the mov files with LR4, and I tried moving the files, first on the SDram card from my Nikon D7000, then to the local hard drive. The result is the same. I try to import just one mov file, and nothing else, but the result is the same. There is a problem with the file. Each file tht LR can not open, opens fine with media player, or any other player installed on my system.
The AutoCAD C3D fails to apply the precision for all elevations in one go!I wanted to let the precision to be zero for all the contour lines in ONE go but sound not to work!Only the picked elevation responds to the selected precisions, the others are not affected!
I never saw it prior to installing SP2 on 2012... (currently downloading SP2.1 to see if it fixes the issue...)
I have two viewports on the same sheet, one at 1"=30', and one at 1"=100'. Cogo Point symbols/labels will print correctly on one viewport, but not on the other. It seems to be related to whichever one I went into last. If I go into the main viewport at 1"=30', then the Cogo Point labels/symbols in the 1"=100' viewport turn very tiny when issuing "Export to Autocad 2010". If I go into the 1"=100' viewport last, then the Cogo Point labels/symbols in the other viewport blow up into huge gigantic things.
I've NEVER seen this behavior before. It's getting incredibly frustrating, since our client requires a plain AutoCAD 2010 drawing, and the Export feature is flat-out not working anymore. And if I try exploding Cogo Points prior to exporting, then they disappear from the Point Table.
Lightroom 5.0 fails to detect memory card and open import dialog. This has always worked fine in Lightroom 4, 3,and 2. Same cards, same camera, same iMac using OS X 10.8.4. Manual importing works OK, card is detected just fine.
I'm trying to adjust the properties of some block objects in Mspace. When the file contains external references the function fails, when it has none it works perfectly.
Dim modelSpace As BlockTableRecord = DirectCast(M_trans.GetObject(SymbolUtilityServices.GetBlockModelSpaceId(db), OpenMode.ForRead), BlockTableRecord) For Each id As ObjectId In modelSpace Dim ent As Autodesk.AutoCAD.DatabaseServices.Entity = DirectCast(M_trans.GetObject(id, OpenMode.ForWrite), Autodesk.AutoCAD.DatabaseServices.Entity) ent.Color = Color.FromColorIndex(ColorMethod.ByLayer, 256)
Using the above to get all objectid's and filter through them then using:
If TypeOf ent Is BlockReference Then Dim br As BlockReference = DirectCast(ent, BlockReference) Dim btr As BlockTableRecord = DirectCast(M_trans.GetObject(br.BlockTableRecord, OpenMode.ForRead), BlockTableRecord) If Not btr.IsFromExternalReference Then
Last week everything was working fine, this week my render window in vacation. Or something.Hit Render frame or even IPR (doesn't matter what renderer I use) and no render window pops up to chew on the image. I get a progress bar and the .IFF is saved in my project folder, but no render window. No error messages that I can see either, maybe I'm not looking in the right place.
why when i want to import file sketchup by type "IMPORTSKP" in commadline box, i can't import file sketchup into autocad because AutoCad Error Aborting and fatal error, and after that my autocad suddenly closed by it self, so i can't use my auto cad.
when I import PNEZD format .csv using import wizard the coordinates get transformed. all points are shifted about 20' in northing and 5 feet in easting. I have to use the import wizard w/ survey database in order to process linework codes.
I just downloaded AutoCad Architecture 2013 and I am having trouble importing DWG files. When I select the file nothing happens. I had AutoCad 2012 for Mac and it worked fine. I switched to 2013 for PC via Parallels on my iMac because I was told that the PC version was better than Mac.
I am trying to import some .dgn files into Autocad Architecture 2013 but I get a message that reads "This DGN file does not contain any models that can be imported into this drawing". I tried importing the files to Revit Structure 2013 as well without success. I have been able to import the files into Rhino 3d and that seems to work fairly well.
This year we started working with the program AutoCAD at school. To make things easier we need to import the same profile as our teacher. The teacher gave us already the .arg file in our mail. I am working with an Apple computer, a MacBook Pro. Everybody found out how to import the file ( on a Windows ) and how to start working with AutoCAD like we have seen in class. But I am still having problems importing the profile. How to import the profile when using a Mac?
I would like to know how to import locations which i have marked on Google map to AutoCAD, and i know the stratigraphic of those locations and i want to represent it in AutoCAD, I want it in such a way that when i click on that particular location in AutoCAD drawing, the stratigraphic should be shown for that location.
I downloaded the sketchup import plug-in and used it to import a sketchup model, but the model ended up being a different size, is there a way to fix this?
I am having issues with drawings from a consultant. They are sending us DGN files and they do not seem to want to import in the latest AutoCAD Architecture 2013 I have deployed throughout the offce. However, these same drawings have no problem in importing to AutoCAD Architecture 2011. In 2013, I get no activity once I select the file to import. If I click on the screen once, the program dims and the program says it is not responding. But I have no problem with 2011.
I have tried to import a DWG-file to my drawing. But it does not work. The XREF-file just appears as dots on the screen. The DWG-file I try to import has another UCS. Is that the problem?
I can do it the opposite way, import the file with the normal World-UCS into the file the different UCS.
i have a layer which i have exported and saved as layer file. now i want to import this layer file in an already existing file. can i know the process.
