I have been trying to simply insert points in a .csv file (PNEZD). The foints are taken SPC systems and elevations are in feet. I am using the imperial english template with no conversions. When i import the points from a file the points come in in the correct position but the elevation is in meters insted of feet!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on an existing Pipe Network. I have a location where I have already placed a pipe and filled in the correct parameters for this pipe. But I realize now that there is a concrete headwall near the end of the pipe. So I was trying to insert the structure at the midpoint of a line I have created for OSNAP reasons so it would create the structure at the specified location. The problem is when I move the structure to create at this location, the "Break Pipe Marker" goes away and only shows when I am at a different location along the pipe. So I wanted to see if there was a command or feature to use to tell the software I want to place this structure at a specified location along this one section of pipe.
I wanted to see what my options were. I know I can grab one end of the pipe and move it to the location and then add the structure and pipe from there. But I did this insertion under different circumstances and it broke the pipe into 2 sections while still keeping the same and adding a (1) after it, which is pretty useful when reading printouts and showing that this is actually one pipe instead of 2 pipes.

I’m having a user profile issue on one computer. I have a user, using windows 7 and AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 on his work station. When using Civil 3D he has two issues: one, he cannot import Dgn’s. I’ve tried everything it just won’t work. Second, he cannot xref or insert PDF’s into a drawing. Now the reason why I say this is a profile issue is because if I log on to his computer (or anyone else log’s on his computer), I can do all those things in Civil 3D, import DGN’s & insert/xref PDF’s. If this user log’s on my computer, he can do all those things in Civil 3D. Import DGN’s & insert/xref PDF’s. Something with his profile on his computer is corrupt and I’m trying to fix it without deleting and creating another user profile.

I use the same label style for multiple objects (surfaces) with different layers (i.e. Concrete, Pavement, etc.) I have the label style set to Layer 0, to take on the layer properties I want the label on. When I insert a label, it defaults to Layer 0, then I have to change it's layer. Is there a way to insert a label on the current layer?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI currently set up out civil 3d to do auto linework, which went really smooth. The first issue is with my points. When I go to Import Survey Data to insert the points and do auto linework, it doesn't insert the points in the right location (nothing is .86 off and easting is 1.36 off on every point). But if i were to insert the points by going to Points and clicking Import, they are right on? second, who do I get symbols to automatically come in when I insert the points? (power poles, hydrants, inlets, etc.).

I have changed the horizontal aligment.
As there is not any auto-update tool (or I dont see) I need to displace the profile 123,46 meters from 1021.27 stattion.
Using C3D 2010 I am unable to drag and drop custom assemblies from the pallette or even insert the assembly dwg file as a block. The program shows me the "egg timer" and nothing happens. The subassembly properties are indicated as .net where originally created at the Assemblies Folder. I would sure like to avoid creating new assemblies from scratch for every project.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere is a line (and two big dots) representing EVERY Assembly insert. And I've been trying to figure out how to hide them.
May be they were there because of some link/point code. But I was unable to find and thing.
In the attached screen shot (taken from a print preview), I've circled one of these dots and pointed at one of the lines. I need to get rid of these.
I remember in LDD you could insert points in an area, Is that possible in civil 3d. I have a small area of an big project that i want to review all the points. This project has 517000 points in it so it takes to long to insert all of the points.

I want to set and Elevation Point (not a PI Point) along a feature line by entering the grade from the previous point. Currently the "Set Elevation Point" command only allows entering an elevations or getting an elevation from the surface. I know I can set an elevation point and then use the "quick elevation editor" to adjust the grade, but I don't want to go through the extra step.
