Jun 15, 2011Often when I attempt to insert a sheet list from the project navigator to a sheet, nothing happens. The sheet index will not insert. Why does this happen? Better yet, how can I fix it?

Apr 27, 2011We installed ACA 2012 a few weeks ago on computers running Windows Vista Business 64-bit. On one of our machines, the Detail Component Manager was working fine and now when we go to insert an object the insertion fails with a *cancel* appearing on the command line.
I have checked all of the file paths and folder permissions and everything is fine. Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client & Extended is installed as along with Microsoft.Net Framework 3.5 SP1.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Sheet Name Field Can Be Broken Into 2 Or 3 Lines?
Aug 24, 2011I have a question about sheet name field, can it be broken into 2 or 3 lines?
Our office has huge text size for drawing name, which can not be changed to a smaller one (you know the politic craps about standards).
So I wonder if there is a way to break the Sheetname field to 2,3 or 4 lines to accommodate this. So far the field is set to have one single line at best. It was good for "floor plan" but not good for "floor plan and etc, etc...."

Dec 21, 2011From Project Navigator, I R-click the Project in the SHEET tab. This is not "lit up" to choose.
I am in my cover sheet, paper space, with 51 sheets in the set.
I tried to use the Sheet Set Manager, but I have the same problem.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Project Fields In Title Block Sheet Template
Jun 26, 2012I've created a sheet template that includes Fields to populate the sheet with the Project Name and location among others like scale, etc. When I create the new sheet in the project navigator most of the fields populate with the correct information based on the parameters set in the project. However, it consistantly does not populate the Project name and location. When I click the field and ensure that the attribute is set correctly then it renders the correct information. The problem is this ends up being a manual operation yet it still reads as a smart tag. Why do these not populate automatically?
Here's my process:
Create dwt for sheet file and include xref of title block.
Create a block with attributes that link to AEC Project, CurrentSheetTitle, etc. and insert into dwt.
In project navigator I create new sheet and select my template.
Information does not populate.
But when I view the block and close (no edits) it then links.
AutoCAD Architecture :: 2011 Crashes On All Computers Connected To Project When Plot Sheet Is Opened
Nov 15, 2010One to Five people has the same project loaded into their Project Navigator.
One of the people opens a plot sheet while using the Project Navigator.
ALL computers with that project loaded experience an Autocad 2011 Crash.
-No Error Message appears.
-Autocad shuts down completely with no warning.
-Simultaneously!
This only occurs with DWG files located under the Sheets Tab of the project navigator.
It is not Project specific. This has occured for different users in our office with different projects open. However Autocad only crashes for the users with the specific project accessing the plot sheet loaded.
We recently made the switch from 2009 to 2011. So far this is only a problem for projects where the plotsheets were created in 2009. We can't go back to 2009 to plot since the walls etc have now adapted to 2011.

I managed to use a field for the total count (YY) however I need to link the XX to the another drawing. I have researched and failed miserably.

Aug 5, 2013I am using Inventor 2010 (I know this is my first problem, but you have to use what you're given!) and I need to use the sheet number in a calculation that will display the result in a text box. =((<SHEET NUMBER>-1)8)=1 displays a result of ((11-1)8)+1. I suspect that the sheet number is being brought in as text instead of a number. I tried adding atoi to the equation to convert the sheet number to an integer, but it did not work.Is there an alternate source for the sheet number that will return a number? Is my syntax wrong?

Aug 9, 2012When editing the properties for the title block on each sheet of my drawing, I've become rather annoyed with the default column width of the Value column. It always opens to the same width no matter how many times I change it. Every time I edit something in the title block, I have to resize this column to see everything I'm editing.
Any way to change the default width it opens at?

Mar 2, 2012I have placed a field directly into my paper space ( not in a block ) to show the current date. This is a company requirement so when the drawing is printed, it shows the date of printing. The field just shows the date that the field was inserted and doesnt update. If i replace it, i get todays date but it stays on the date.
How to get this to always show the current date?

Apr 26, 2012I want to insert a text into a block that contains a field. The field I want to look up the value of an attribute that is also contained in the block. Now when I have this complete and then change the block attribute the fields do not update to the new value of the attribute. An example file is attached.
Now I am open to creating the block in a different way, so any way to make this concept work? I want everything to be contained in the block.
I already tried to work around my problem by making 2 separate attributes, where the 2nd attribute contains the field that looks up the value of the 1st attribute - this did not work. Another thing I tried was after the block was made, I edit the 2nd attribute by inserting the field and this worked fine - the down side is that the field is not the default of the attribute (so the block must already be present in the drawing model space and that instance must be copied to make more).

Aug 13, 2013I'm trying to get an excel sheet to open and count cells based on the text inside a selected column then compare it to cad. The column says "red" or "green" and I want to compare it to a count of red and green hatches in cad.
I managed to get them to be counted in cad but I'm not sure how to get the excel part to work.
Note: I posted an earlier post thinking to count the actually color in the excel cells rather than the words but that ended up being quite complicated.

May 14, 2010How can I move a detail view to another sheet in a drawing in 2009? I have only been able to copy the detail and it's parent view to the 2nd sheet and then suppress the parent view on the 2nd sheet so that only the detail view is visible.
However, when I go back to the first sheet and try to suppress or delete the detail view, it also deletes / suppresses the detail circle from the parent view.
