My text does not appear just a box around where the text is when I attempt to print it out in both paper and model space. The text appears in model space but doesn't print (just the box around it).

The reason this came up is because yesterday I printed a half size set on our new plotter using twice the paper I needed. Each sheet printed on half of a 36”x12” sheet of paper (print is 18”x12”). I was throwing away 18” per print. What would be awesome is to be able to get another print onto that wasted 18”.

This only happens on one person's prints. All layers are thawed/on. Yet when he prints, there's a random line going across the drawing at 45 degrees. This happens if he prints from paperspace or modelspace. The line shows up right from the print preview. Since it only happens on his computer

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly simple 3D model in ACAD ARCH 2011. I am rendering it to a viewport on a layout that contains the company border / title block. If I render the model (presentation quality) to model space and send that to the printer (color laser) the print comes out in about 60 seconds or less. However, if I render the same image and quality to the viewport on the layout and send that to the printer, it takes between 10 and 15 minutes for the image to print. The layout is simple - just line workd border and title block. The images are identicla when finally printed.
Why does it take SOOOO much longer to print when with a layout as opposed to not with a layout? The rendering to screen takes the smae amount of time either way - it's just the printing procvess that is bogged down by using a layout.
Autocad Architecture 2012 crashed during hatch. Upon recovery, all my text was replaced with boxes. I suspect there is a system variable which was changed as part of the recovery process, but I can't find it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBy default, the PDF print drivers we use (Bluebeam, PDF 995) set True Type text handling to be "as graphics" rather than "as text" (see below), which makes for some ugly text. I know I can make this change and save as a .PC3 file, but all our page setups for sheets & templates in the office all reference these default drivers, so it would be preferable to change the way the default driver works if possible. Is the default plotter configuration editable?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI xref’d a plan into a compiled drawing and added notes in the compiled drawing’s model space. The xref’d plan contains an image. When adding the notes in the compiled drawing, I turn the layer off on the xref that contains the image so that I can see the text clearer. When I turn the image layer on, the notes are there, but 2 things are happening: (1) I cannot select the xref for some reason, and (2) the text disappears in the viewport when I switch to paper space.
I am using Autocad Architecture 2009.
I know that there was a command that would convert single line text to multi-line text but I can not find it. It use to be tt2mt or something like that.
I can not find this command in the help either. Did they get rid of this command like zoom center?

How to use wildcards to aid in replacing text. i have a series of drawings with a few hundred door tags that I need to add an alpha character to the end. I'm on ACA 2008.

I have a dwg template that has a Multileader Style that uses Annotative text. When I changed a viewport to a different scale....from 1"=1' to 3/4" =1', the text is not appearing to scale. It's very large. The Mtext changed to the correct scale but not the Multileader text. Where do I need to make a change?

I have changed the color of the text and I have applied a lineweight to the table but the text is way too light. I spent a bunch of time putting info into tables and it looks like total crap and I cant seem to change it. What is up with this?

Annotative dims and text. I have multiple view ports ranging from 1/8 to 1-1/2 inch scale in one paper space. I have noted items (in model) and need them to appear in the different scaled VP's. However, too much is showing up. All scales in all vp's are active, not just the scale of the vp.
When I want to establish a new annotative text style, and I'm in the Text Styles dialog box, in the "Size" box, why will it not let me enter a Paper Text Height of 3/32"??? Every time I try it defaults to either 1/16" or 1/8". I have checked the Annotative box.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I set the background mask to "yes" for text or dims it does mask out the xref as long as I set the cursor on the text / dim. When I move the cursor off the text / dim, the xref reappears, so when I print, the text is illegible due to the background walls etc.

Whenever you try to make modifications in the file, it has this error "ERROR: Could not draw text!" in the command line - HUNDREDS of times. (As a matter of fact, it maxes out the amount of lines that the command history will remember.)
Mainly this occurs with ACA objects like walls and doors; does not do it for lines. It will also do this if you "undo" a command involving an ACA object. It also does this if you run an audit on the drawing. THUS, making the drawing very slow.
We have tried to copy out the objects and paste them into our clean template, but it follows along with it.
Is there something that I can delete or remove from the drawing? I need to get this fixed as we are just at 50% and 95% on the files, so I will need to be able to use them for a while. Projects are too big to redraw the files.
I am trying to dimension a room in AutoCAD 2014, drawing in Architectual mode using the default template. I attached a screenshot of what I am seeing, the red lines are my dimensions but they show up with no text and I cannot figure out how to get the text to display.

I know that with AutoCAD 2008 using Express Tools, you could do this easily by exploding the text. How can I explode text using AutoCAD 2013, so that it will export as vectors in the DWG file?

the structural drawing that im xrefing in will be overlayed over my floorplans, then printed at the 1/4"=1'-0"
I need the structural base drawing to keep the 10" text height because some times i have to print off the entire structural plan separate.
I can set up anno text to appear for instance at 1/8" scale, but cannot get it to change for every scale, and for it to remain centered on the original position at each change in scale. I know it's something to do with how I set it up but cannot find it in "Help".
