Apr 2, 2013On one of our computers, when we right click on a tab and select NEW LAYOUT it crashes Autocad. We have Autocad Architecture 2013.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Export Layout Crashes
Oct 11, 2013I have a Civil 3D project with piping networks, grading etc. The servicing and grading plans are on layout tabs (5 of each 10 in total). When I would go export layout Civil 3D would go into not responding mode and crash. This caused quit a bit of stress as we had to get the drawings out to meet a deadline.
After investigating this issue, we identified that we had save our layer states in the layer manager. Delete the viewport on the layout tabs, draw a new viewport and then reinstate the layer states for each layout. This resolved, the crashing issue.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Layout Will Only Allow 3 Viewports
Jun 20, 2011My drawing will only allow 3 viewports in each paperspace layout created. When I try to add or copy more than 3 viewports previous viewports created will go blank and cannot be activated anymore. I have never had this issue before, is there a setting that can fix this problem? I am running AutoCAD Architecture 2010

Mar 16, 2011When I make a new Layout a new Page Setup called *Layout1* is created and assigned to the new Layout. Our plotter is assigned as the plot device, and a dashed rectangle showing printable area appears near the borders of the white sheet area represented in the Layout.
If I choose to Modify the layout, and I change the Paper size, the dashed rectangle disappears, and now I don't know how to position and size a title block to ensure that it stays within the printable area. What controls the presence of the dashed print area rectangle?

Jul 27, 2009Until recently I have had the 'thumbnails' that pop-up when you 'rest' the cursor over the lay-out tab show a preview of the contents. It is still doing this however it has somehow gotten so that it only shows about a quarter of the page and it will not update to show what my previous view of that paper space page was.

Sep 29, 2011I have been trying to add beams to a layout of columns and some of them (not all) are behaving oddly. Instead of the beam trimming square at the side of the columns, the column and beam are joining with a mitered connection. The same is happening with some of the intersecting beams...a 45 degree miter on each beam.
There must be some setting that I have inadvertantly changed but I cannot find what it is. Changing trimming parameters in the Properties panel that seem like they should be involved, has no effect. And neither does cycling, via the Control key, the connection parameter when the beams are placed.
AutoCAD Architecture :: ExportPDF Layout Extents Crop
Jun 25, 2013When I use the exportpdf command from within a layout, the resulting PDF is off-center. In the autocad layout, it appears centered within the layout, but when exported it's shifted down and to the left by about half an inch. I can resolve this by changing my page setup from plotting LAYOUT to WINDOW and creating my own extents, however I would like to understand why exportpdf isn't handling layout extents correctly.
When I plot to pdf using Adobe PDF as my plot device, I get the correct layout extents, but when I use the exportpdf command, the layout extents are not correct.

Sep 9, 2013When I import a layout from template it takes about 5-10 min of ACA not responding before it will actually import the layout from my template file. It will do this on any new file the first time and then it will work just fine after that. This was happening with ACA 2013 and now with 2014.

Oct 18, 2010Using ACA 2011 and Win7 here... and I've noticed that the apparent intersection osnap does not want to work at all while working in a layout if the geometry I'm trying to snap to is also drawn in the layout.
If the geometry is in model space that osnap will work fine both in model space (through the viewport) and from outside the viewport.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Unable To Edit In Viewport (layout Tabs)
Oct 2, 2012We have an intern that has somehow made it impossible for her to edit inside viewports(switching to model space) on her layouts. None of us has seen this before and do not know how to reverse what she has done. This happens with any drawing she opens. She can edit when in the model space tab, but when she goes to one of the layout tabs and double clicks on the viewport she cannot edit. The viewports are not locked.
We have had several people look at it and cannot find what command or setting she changed. She does not have admin rights so I do not think she could have run a script. She is not familiar with AutoCAD Architecture, her experience has been limited to Revit.

Oct 19, 2012I have an HP workstation Z220 with OS Windows 7 64 bit. I have installed my printer HP Laserjet Pro CM1415nf using the original CD Drivers and have also installed AutoCAD Architecture 2011 and 2013.
When trying to print from both AutoCAD versions to the printer, the application crashes and I need to close the program. When I try to print to a different printer everything is ok. I have checked for updated drivers of the printer and downloaded from HP site by the problem is still there.

Aug 20, 2010I have just started working with Architecture 2011, so perhaps there is some strange issue at work here, but I haven't come across it previous releases. Whenever I switch from model tab (in 2D wireframe) to a layout tab and then back to model space, the visual style automatically switches itself to "Wireframe" or "3D Parallel Project", instead staying 2D Wireframe. It is highly annoying as I have to hit the 2D Wireframe button on the Visual Style Menu everytime a switch. This also occurs everytime a hit the Save button. It won't stay put in the visual style that it should.

Aug 13, 2012I work with a national company that creates criteria drawings for new projects. They recently changed to the 2012 version but they save it down to 2007. There has not been an issue with opening files with my 2009 version until recently. All of the computers in our office are unable to open these new files, although they claim nothing has changed. My CAD will pop up a fatal error and shut down whenever I attempt to open the new files. I downloaded the 2013 trial version and saved the file down to the older version, but that does not work either. Newer versions do not seem to be affected by the files, just my 2009 version. I tried creating a new file in 2013 and saved down to 2007 format. When I try to open it 2009 there is no issue. besides purchasing a new version of AutoCAD?

Nov 15, 2010One to Five people has the same project loaded into their Project Navigator.
One of the people opens a plot sheet while using the Project Navigator.
ALL computers with that project loaded experience an Autocad 2011 Crash.
-No Error Message appears.
-Autocad shuts down completely with no warning.
-Simultaneously!
This only occurs with DWG files located under the Sheets Tab of the project navigator.
It is not Project specific. This has occured for different users in our office with different projects open. However Autocad only crashes for the users with the specific project accessing the plot sheet loaded.
We recently made the switch from 2009 to 2011. So far this is only a problem for projects where the plotsheets were created in 2009. We can't go back to 2009 to plot since the walls etc have now adapted to 2011.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Content In Layout Shows Beneath Model Space Content
Nov 25, 2013I'm doing an evacuation plan of an office building. The drawing itself is in the model space, obviously. The fire extinguishers and escape routes are added in layout.
The problem is that everything that I add in the layout ends up beneath the drawing in model space. I.e. the walls of the building are shown in front of the fire extinguishers which makes my evac.plan look like poop.AutoCad Architecture 2013.

Sep 21, 2012I updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file: AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.

Jan 23, 2013I like the Export To Model feature except it's useless in its current state. Here's why: it exports the paperspace view of the layout to a new modelspace drawing...but at the wrong scale. It basically just takes a picture of the paperspace view and recreates that in a new modelspace file, ugh. The modelspace scale should be maintained and the paperspace viewport scale(s) maintained.
In other words it should set up a new drawing with the viewport(s), paperspace layout tab and model space drawing(s) intact and recreated in a new file.

Sep 9, 2011Understanding the "tabOrder" for layouts. I would like to rename my layouts "P1", "P2", "P3".... based on the taborder.
Also, I would like to copy a layout (the last layout tab) and place it at a given point (like the third tab). Once I can copy it and place it, I'll be able to rename the layout tabs using taborder.

Mar 14, 2012I'm sure this has been talked here before, but i cant find that variable, option or whatever it is that controls if a layout appears according to the ctb selected or with the colors and configuration your using on your drawing.I mean, you have a drawing with many layers of different colors, if your layout is set to use "monochrome", you can only see it with white/black lines.
