I created a dog leg laundry door and window and finally got it to work but when I open the door the window pane moves with the door, also the window does not show up in the plan view. The cut plan is set at 1400 and the window sill is at 1200.

I use ACA 2012 for residential design - I have a wall style, 2x4 stud w/ 1.5" airspace and 3.5" brick (modified from the stock styles) - but whenever I insert a window, it makes it as wide as the wall (9") when it should be only the depth of the stud wall (2x4 or 2x6) - How can I fix this?

I'm doing a floor plan and I want to change one door to a double door. I changed the style and it changed all the doors. So I did a search and saw something about doing a style override in the "Edit Object Display." So, I checked all the "Object Override" boxes in there. Buuut...when I right click on that door and do "Edit Door Style" it still changes ALL the doors in the drawing to double doors.
ACA 2012: Is it possible to add a column to my door and window schedules that automatically shows the area of the door/window(or area of Glazing) and then have a total area column at the bottom of the column?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAll my layers are turned on, when in an existing drawing my schedules do not appear when I use the tool to create them. When I open a new drawing draw a wall and a couple doors, the schedule inserts when I use the annotate tool. I am only using a basic floor plan at the moment, no xrefs or anything else, simple walls and doors and inserted from the program. I did use tags for the doors and windows which worked fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn my xref drawing I changed the linetype of a swing to be hidden. After changing it in the xref and saving I go to my plot file and the swing is still continuous. Visretain is set to 1. The swing changes on all other drawing files except one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMostly I create door/window assemblies from an elevation sketch. I make sure that the DW tool on the tool palette has all the attributes I want for the new DW. Problem is that most times the attributes do not travel across to the new DW. I have a double hinged frameless door that I want as an override assignment.
And although the infill panel style has been defined in the DW style, when I use the infill panel override assignment, the double door style is not available from the drop down box. I have copied and assigned the DW to a new style, saved - closed - opened the drawing, but the double door style is still not available in the drop down box.
I am having a nagging problem related to window and door cleanups in walls. Certain walls seem to lose the opening for a window or door. Sometimes, disconnecting a wall from another at a T or L insection clears the problem, but when they meet again, the all openings in that wall disappear. It looks fine in plan view, but 3d aspects of the wall are affected. This problem is also inconsistant. Quite frustrating. I've a attached a series of jpegs that illustrate a current issue.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been successfully able (after reading through the Users Manual) to create a new door style and a new property set definition applied to that door style. I was able to insert the new door style in a drawing and the Extended Data tab on the Properties pallet on the right side of the screen showed all the propwer data, except for one field.
I used two parameters from the Project Properies Definitions in my "custom" property set but only one of them (Number) seems to be working as expected to contain my Project ID Number within my door style. The Division ID parameter, however, does not contain anything within my door style except "NA", even though I placed a value in the Division ID field in the Project Navigator Tool Pallet.
"NA" is what shows up in the field on the Extended Data portion of the Properties pallet for the selected door instance.
As an aside, I found writting this post to be very time consuming because I had to keep refering back to the various ACA screens and pallets to be sure of using the correct names for everything to avoid confusion. Hopefully I have succeeded!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI working on a deadline with little sleep, but I cannot believe it is this hard to get an overhead door to look right. All I want is a 1" thick frame, the same depth as the wall AND the door slab to be INSIDE the frame like a real overhead door.
The attached PDF shows the standard OH door on the left with the stupid door centered in the frame. The door on the right is one I created by inserting a cased opening in the wall, then manually drawing a rectangle and dashed line for the OH swing. All I am interested in is getting this right in plan at this point. Using Architecture 64 bit.
I have ACAD Arch 2012 and I am trying to associate my door tags with my door schedule and visa versa. I get as far as creating the Door Schedule with all the doors on it and quantified just the way you would want to see it; however, the "Mark" remains "A" for every door. I discovered that I can change the Mark on the extended properties of each door, but I believe there should be a better (and more linked) way to accomplish this. Since the program already recognizes how many doors there are of a specific style it should be able to put sequential "marks" to each door, for example "A", "B", "C", etc.

View 6 Replies View Relatedwhen i export (or explode) my plan every window, doors etc... split in more "under-blocks", and that's ok. but i have a problem with the windows: after the explode command, one of the blocks inside (the one that shows the opening side) "jump" in the 0,0,0 coordinates point, but all the others remain in the right position.
PS: i think the problem is not in the window-block, because i tried it in another old file, and it works. and the autocad option are also always the same.
I'm attempting to create a wall style that has 2 components, a framed wall and a brick veneer. What I would like to do is have this wall react a certain way when I insert a window. Basically, I don't want the window to cut into the brick veneer, only the framing.
I have attached my attempt so far, and I have not figured out how to get the window to only cut the framed portion.
Is there a way to create a window that slides into a pocket in a wall the way a pocket door does?
(I'd define a pocket door style for it but I'd like it to appear as a window for tags and schedules.)
I want to create a space style similar to BOMA with editable boundaries to use for LEED Daylighting calculations. I figured out how to make a new property set definitions, new space style, etc., but I can't get the boundaries to read as the LEED boundaries. I want the Base area to remain as is, but I want NET to be Daylit, Useable to be Sidelit, and Gross to be Toplit.
I could do the workaround and just use the OOTB BOMA style, but then others editing will have to constantly translate which means what as we edit the drawings. When you look at the display display Properties for the space style, the boundaries and hatches read as net, useable, etc. I can't figure out where to redefine those and when you right click the space and Edit Boundary, I need to be able to display the correct properties, not the BOMA properties.
I am trying to create a window block that stretches both mullions horizontally and vertically. I figured out how to get both to stretch horizontally but when I try to stretch vertically I get a really funky skew thing happening.

I have been able to layout the location of both, but when I highlight to erase around the nodes, it just erases only those. I used the extension object snap to layout the location of both. put nodes on the ends, and centers, of both objects.

Just moving over from Drawing Express to AutoCAD LT and I am looking for a command that will allow me to number windows and doors easily. Currently I have a command in drawing express that increases the door number each time I paste it to allow easy door/window numbering with a prefix. We tend not to create window or door schedule from these we just need to be able to number them quickly without editing the text manually each time.

I created a Dr & Wdw Assembly w/ 3 French doors w/ 3 Transoms above. It looks great. However, the door panels in Plan view are closed. Yet the in the properties dialog box it says they're each 90 degrees open. I can change the number, but the door remains closed. What needs to be tweaked?
I made a door tag, tagged all 128 doors and during a check set noticed that the text in the tag is the wrong font. I opened the tag and changed the font, saved and regenerated the drawing. The font in the current door tags did not change. To be sure I changed the correct tag I added a new tag and the font is correct. Why do the current tags not update? Do I need to do something? I do not want to go back and redo all 128 door tags.

The right is my 2nd floor RCP, in which I cannot get the door jambs (orange lines) to turn off. Cut Planes are set identically in the two dwgs. I thought the Display Configuration settings were identical in the 2 dwgs, but clearly they're not.
