Oct 10, 2013know if a file from a student version of autocad 2014 can be used to laser cut or will there be issues of some sort?

AutoCAD 2010 :: 2D Drawings For Laser Cutting / Laser Cuts To Each Grip
Jul 3, 2012I need to send 2D drawings for laser cutting. Opti is the laser software..My issue is that the laser cuts to each grip and gives the cut metal a serrated looking edge.
Removing/simpliying the lines into fewer (microscopic!) segements or being able to adjusts the number of grips.
AutoCAD 2013 :: 2014 (Student Version) - Can't Make Status Bar Work
Jun 20, 2013I've just downloaded AutoCAD 2014 Student Version, and I can't seem to make my status bar on the bottom work. It's pretty annoying, as I couldn't manage to find the solution yet, did the access path to it changed compared to previous versions?
It's just blank grey (where OSNAP, DUCS, and other fun stuff's icons should be).

Dec 13, 2011I would like to import logos in to my cad drawings that i send out for laser cutting. Is there an easy (easier) way to produce a laser ready dxf of complex logos?
I have done a couple in teh past and faught with it the entire way.
AutoCad :: Drawing For Laser Cutting Machine
Jun 22, 2011I need to cut some flat veneer using a laser machine, like making a jigsaw puzzle. The laser operator needs a drawing in the .dwg format.I will be drawing a 2d shape using a photograph in the background to copy.
I need to make the shape cut up into sections so I can assign a different bitmap to each section, at least for the design part of it. Since I'm more familiar with Max it'd be easier to do the design work there and export the file.
What I need is to make 2 or more closed spline objects that share adjacent lines so that each section has a surface that can accept an individual bitmap.
AutoCAD LT :: Cannot Save Previous Files To Upgraded Version From Previous Student Version
May 13, 2013I cannot save my previous files created on a student version to an upgraded 2014 version. I tried changing the save as path in the options menu, but no luck. I am able to open the file in the upgraded version but it states that it will open as a student version. Also I cannot copy and paste anything from the student version to the upgraded one. Not sure why.

Mar 6, 2012Currently, I am using Inventor to produce inventor DWG drawings for our supplies to read using autocad and trueview etc. One of our suppliers is a laser cutting firm and they need us to produce a seperate DXF file from our inventor drawings (for the flat patterns). As this has to be done manualy and is potentially error prone (as drawings can be automaticallyt updated where as DXF's requre a seperate 'save as' we had hoped to be able to just send the Inventor DWG for them to extract the geometry of the blank using their copy of AutoCad. I noticed that when opening an inventor DWG in autocad, the 'model' contains no geometry and it is placed on a seperate tab called sheet 1 (or whatever the sheet was called in inventor).
Is there any way that this data can be extracted from the DWG so that they may manipulate the geometry?
I have attached an Inventor DWG for reference.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Student Version Freezing And Not Responding?
May 16, 2012I have just loaded the student version of AutoCAD 2012 onto my brand new HP Pavilion Notebook which has 8 GB of memory - Processor AMD A8-3530MX with HP Graphics 1.90 GHz - running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I have created a file in Adobe Illustrator which I converted to a vector image and exported it to AutoCAD. I have loaded the image and have cleaned it up. I am now trying to re-scale it and my session keeps freezing. When I look at the task manager I see that the program is not responding. I have ended the task many times now!

Jun 20, 2012I need to save from Illustrator in .dwg format, for laser cutting. However the scale shown in Illustrator is not the same scale in the .dwg when they look at it at the laser cutting firm.
btw when I export in .dwg format the setting for scale is set at 1 centimeter = 1 unit. I don't know what they mean by unit however.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Content Center Does Not Open When Logged In As Student In 2013?
Oct 11, 2012We have Inventor 2013 installed in our Cad Lab in our High School... when logged in as the administrative account that the program was installed under, content center opens and works fine, however when logged in as a student (any student, they have individual network accounts), when you click to access content center to insert something, nothing happens, no error messages, nothing. I have tried re-installing content center under a student account, giving the student account admin rites, changing paths to content center, giving the student full access to the entire C drive, nothing seems to work... Windows 7 SP1 32 bit environment.

Mar 6, 2014I'm currently working on a design in 3ds Max 2013 Student Edition. When I first found out about 3d modelling, the creativity peaked my interest greatly and since Mesh became available in Second Life and Inworldz, I have since been self teaching myself from Max tutorials.
2 years ago approximately, I downloaded the 3ds Max 2013 from the Autodesk site and upon installing it, the program crashed at 96% faithfully everytime. When I asked how to resolve this, I was told to download the trial version and put the code to authenticate the software, it then went from 30 day trial to student edition.
I have since been using 3ds Max 2013 updating the FBX converter to work with Second Life and Inworldz making low poly designs.
Now my current design has 3587 polys and 6,239 vertices, when I move close to my design and select edge, then insert vertex, 3ds Max says it encountered an error and gives me the option to save my scene or cancel to close Max. 100% of the time, if I say save scene, my scene is automatically corrupt and I have to go to a previous save.
No I am not entitled to install the PU's (Patch Updates) since its a student edition and I don't have the money to purchase 3ds Max 2013.

Oct 27, 2012I have an issue with the student version of Maya 2013. This issue is reproducible in my environment when I try to align an edge to a snap point pressing the V key and move the edge with the move tool. May 2013 hang then and I have to close it ending the task in the task manager.Many times I deleted the Maya folder in my documents folder in order to start from the scratch, but it hangs again if I try the procedure i described above. Some times it take more time until Maya hang, some times after a few moves.I have installed Maya 2013 many times from the scratch, deleting before all the directories in the different locations (as described in an Autodesk paper).I have to run Maya 2013 while I need to export my files with an exporter which just work in the 32bit version of Maya.

Installed Maya on three different hard disks (one is a SSD)but no difference.Below my hardware:

Jul 23, 2012I migrated to 2013 last week (from 2012). I have a welded part which consists of only two items: a hub and a plate. I brought in that welded piece into another file which is going to take care of the machining. I machined one side without any issues. The second side refuses to machine the back of the plate. It does everything else but will not cut into the back of the plate.
Please find attached the part I am trying to machine 60077B which is made of 60077F which in turn is made of 50176 & 50204. The final thickness of the plate is supposed to be 1" currently it holds its ground at 1.063".
AutoCAD 2013 :: Print On Standard 8.5 X 11 Paper But It Keeps Cutting Off
Dec 14, 2012im trying to do is print on standard 8.5" X 11" paper but for some reason it keeps cutting off the top and the bottom. ive tried changing the plotter settings around but to no avail. its like theres a certain amount that it refuses to pring on the bottom. no matter what, the is always a .5" gap at the bottom. i can get it to print to the very edge of the top. just having issues with the bottom. ive also tried using plot calibration and all of that is fine

I have a sketch of the damage on the chute block. I created the chute block as a solid and then drew the damaged area extents using plines. This created non-planar plines. Is there a way to get this to work that will allow me to see the volume of the concrete damage? Aug 1, 2011I have downloaded an eps file, which I need to cut. I use a graphtec ce5000-60 cutter, and a plugin called cutting master 2 in order to use coreldraw.
when i select application launcher and choose cut / plot, it opens cutting master. when i do this, it only shows the 2 outer lines of the logo i need to cut. I have attached a screenshot so you can see exactly what I mean. I have tried lots of things to recitfy this, but as a complete beginner with this software, I really dont have a clue.

Sep 25, 2012I've read about the new option in Text Editor to be able strike through text in Multiline Text, but when I upgraded to 2013 I did not have the option.
Explains what the strike through text style is but not how to add it to my Text Editor ribbon. My understanding is that it should be a button in the Formatting Pallet under the Underline button, mine just shows Background Mask there. When I expand the formatting pallet I don't show a strikethrough option there either.
