I am looking for the location of the setting that controls the background of paperspace. Not the printable area, but the background. See image below.

I have a mac. I am trying to change the background color in paperspace from the eye straining white to a neutral grey. Everywhere I search I am told that the answer is in options>display and then change it to what ever you want. However, mac has preferences instead of options and no display tab. And in all the tabs i do have, there is no obvious alternative.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe default file location for the template .dwt file in my AutoCAD options keeps resetting to None (see attaached, red arrow). It should be the same location as the line below it (see attached, green arrow). I have reset it a few times now, but it keeps reverting back to None. Do you know why this is happening and/or how I can fix it so the setting will stay?

We were updating the wall finish schedule in our template. Now using the template, if we create a new room, it's number is 3. Where is the setting that controls what the next available room number is?

We need to have a customized interface come up when Autocad is opened by students.I have read that you can do this with profiles and workspaces and also with loading a acad.lsp file.
In the past we have just copied the Windows admin profile used to customize AutoCad to the default profile. In AutoCad 2013 that does not seem to grab everything. It doesn't seem to be the best way to do what we need.
We will also be moving to Windows 7 soon which will also cause an issue.I want to find the best way to do this with out having to deal with the Windows profile.
I have layer property manager anchored to the left side of my screen. Where are the layer controls. e.g. "New Layer" control?

And my drawings and designs were done on C3D 2011 AutoCAD, but the problem now is when i open my drawings with C3d 2013 all the text that has background in it shows black in a paper space but on model space is owk, is there a way of resolving this without goiung through all the text settings.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOur office recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2005 to the new version AutoCAD Architecture 2013. I’m having difficulty finding the layer override toolbar for the lines. I have found that I can change the color and/or line type of an line in the properties dialog box but in AutoCAD 2005 there was a toolbar specifically assigned for the color, line type and line weight of a line. Dose that toolbar still exist in 2013 or do they control this in another location.
View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen it comes to viewports in paperspace in 2013, due to the nature of my work i have several layout drawings all drawn on top of each other and all with ther own txt and dims etc, which again is all on top of each other making it impossible to work in model space, for this reason i work in paperspace within a viewport but now i have upgraded to 2013 while i am in mid command e.g. dimension and zoom into first point then zoom back out and in again to second point, by this time i have been kicked out of the viewport and just in paperspace so cant complete the command, doesnt always happen?

I would like my main screen to have the plan view and the second monitor to have an isometric veiw (or whatever I need at the time) of the same drawing. Is there a way to have the same drawing opened up in another window, in one session of Autocad 2013. One on the main screen and one on the secondary.
We have just loaded AutoCAD 2013 from previously using Version 2012, and I am experiencing a very distubing phenomenon. While manipulating the commands in any vieport window in Model Space, the program automatically 'jumps' into Paper Space causing an interruption in work-flow, and losing any command which was in progress during the time. For example, if a number of objects were copied with the intention of placing them elsewhere within the same or another paper space window in 'model space' , the program would jump to paper space and the items would be lost, with the necessity of selecting them all over again. This can happen several times in a row.

View 8 Replies View RelatedA few times out of each day when I plot all of my viewports will be moved of the printable area into the gray area below in paperspace.
I cannot figure this out as I have used a few different profiles from different machines and still have the same issue.
My group and I are getting an infrequent but annoying problem with Model Documentation (MD) generated views in paperspace layout tabs. We all on autocad 2013, with sp1.1 installed on x64 machines.
We are seeing objects/ blocks showing in the MD views (viewbase created) in the layout that are no longer in model space. One common factor in this is that these objects seem to always be externally referenced (xref) files that have been either unloaded or completely detached (both cases purges preformed afterwards to wipe any remaining blocks made no difference). In this latest case the ghost objects show up twice (we needed 2 of the same xref) at what appears to be the correct old coordinates.
We have no work around for this and when this occurs we either have to revert to an older version from vault or create a new dwg, port all information over and recreate all views. The interesting thing about this problem is that if we revert to an older version from vault, the ghosts do not reappear/ reoccur at the same commands they appeared at previously.
Inventor uses a gradient-fill gray background for the 3D views. This has many annoyances, such as parts of the image disappear at certain rotations because they render to the same color as the background. More seriously, when I want to print the orthogonal 3D view, I get the gray background on the printout, which looks profoundly ugly, and obscures some of the critical information I want to see.
Is there a way to either (a) change the background to something other than gray-gradient? (I'd settle for something like light-blue-gradient, for example) and (b) tell the print command to not print the gray background (but if I change it to solid white, this would solve the problem)
I have imported a number of raster images into a drawing and wish to turn the "blank" bits transparent. I can set them all to "Background transparency = YES" in the Properties bar, but as far as I can see I need to go through each one individually to set the relevant transparency color, since as soon as I select more than one tile the "Transparency color" tab disappears.
Is there a way to do a multiple select as the "blank" color is the same for all the tiles? I'm planning to use a lot of tiles and this will be incredibly laborious and inefficient otherwise. I am using Map 3D 2011.
Where is the setting for the sample line label background mask? I have some sample lines that will be plotted on top of an aerial photo, and the black box background looks terrible. I'd like to turn it off. I found the contour label background fine and I switched those to False without much of a problem, but I can't seem to locate the ones for the sample lines.

After setting all render properties and turning on sky and illuminations my view on object switch from isometric to perspective view.
Is there any way to change it to isometric view so the point of view do not change position at the time of changing, because I find out the way to return it to isometric but then the point of view that was placed inside of room is moved outside and I can't render object that was inside.
Also I can't set white background as it is on the first image. Second image is my attempt that is made inside of the room.
