View 1 RepliesI have a layer named XYZ, that contains ARC, LINE and POLYLINE. I want to get a list of all linetypes from every ARC, LINE and PLINE. If I open the properties, if I select only the ARC, under linetype I'm getting *Varies*. Instead of*varies*, I would like to have a list of all linetypes (ARC, LINE and PLINE).
Is it possible? WOuld it also be possible to do the same for linescale or weight?
I created a macro to insert layers with a click of the button. I was wonder how I get my macro to add the linetype to it. Also would like a separate macro to make the layer not to plot.
Here is the Macro I'm using: ^C^C-layer;new;A-ANNO-AREA-IDEN;color;6;A-ANNO-AREA-IDEN;;
On Layer Manager can't see VP Color and VP Linetype see picture.
View 9 Replies View Relatedfor no apparent reason I am suddenly unable to change the layer that a object is assigned to. Normally I select a line, then go to the layers pull down menu and click on the desired new layer. Automatically the line changes color to the selected layer.
When I follow this procedure now, the layer name changes in the pull down menu as if the change has been made, but the line remains the old color. Checking in Properties for this line, it shows that it has been changed to the new layer as well, however, when I reselect the line, the Properties changes back to show that it is still assigned to the old layer (color: By Layer is selected).
How can I copy a linetype definition from a drawing to the linetype definition file?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to change my ground conductor from solid green to a dashed line (green is OK) on a set of drawings, but all the dashed linetypes I can find don't show up well at the scale that I've drawn the circuits. I can make them look OK by changing the linetype scale in the properties manager window, but there are a boatload of these lines in eight viewports; finding them all would be a major pain. They are all on a single layer, though, but in the layer properties manager I do not see a way to change the linetype scale for the layer. I could use the properties manager to make the change if I could select everything on the layer. Is there a way to do that?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have loaded an insulation linetype and I needed to make the ltscale of that line .194 in the linetype manager so that it would fit in my 3.5" walls.I would like my insulation linetype to always be drawn at .194 ltscale. All of my other lines/linetypes I would like to stay at 1.00
When I changed the linetype scale of the insulation to .194 every other ltscale went with it. Is it possible to change one ltscale independently of all your other linetypes?
I am autocad 2010 user. I have drawing files from consultants with custom linetypes. I have deleted the. shx file but need to change line type. How do I select the relevant lines to convert to normal line type?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently running AutoCAD 2013 LT on a Windows 7 64 bit system. I was recently running this same software on a 32 bit system computer and everything was running properly. After the upgrade, I have noticed a linetype issue that I cannot seem to get a handle on.
We use a "insul" linetype on building sections that should come out looking like an architectural insulation pattern. After upgrading to the new computer, this linetype only reads as dots, nothing else. I have gone to other comnputers in the office that are displaying this linetype properly and have copied their acadlt.lin as well as acadltiso.lin files over to my computer and it has not solved the problem.
Below are linetypes that we created for our use. We have tried to create others but we dont know what the parameters are
Height of text, spacing of line between text, center of text...
*RS-485,RS-485 ----485----485----485----485----485----485--
A,.5,-.2,["485",STANDARD,S=.2,R=1.0,X=-0.1,Y=-.1],-.6
*RS-422,RS-422 ----422----422----422----422----422----422--
A,.5,-.2,["422",STANDARD,S=.2,R=1.0,X=-0.1,Y=-.1],-.6
*RS-232,RS-232 ----232----232----232----232----232----232--
[Code] .......
The linetype set in the active standard for section line is totally ignored when creating a section view. We have our line type set to 'Long Dash Dot' as per the BS8888 standard but it changes it to a 'Long Dash Short Dash' line. We use the same linetype on the centerline layer with no problem. Why does this not work??

Is there a way to start a custom line type so that is starts and ends with "O". Right now, the default "FENCELINE1" has circles in it, but it starts and ends with a line.
Here's their code for the line:
*FENCELINE1,Fenceline circle ----0-----0----0-----0----0-----0--
A,.25,-.1,[CIRC1,ltypeshp.shx,x=-.1,s=.1],-.1,1
I already tried just putting the O's at the ends, and that didn't do it.
Below is a picture of what I'm looking to get. The top one is the FENCELINE1, the bottom one is just circles and lines, but that's how I want the linetype to look when they place it... so first click would have a circle, second click would have a circle, and the circles "in" the line would spread out evenly.
Just so you know... this is for guardrail inside a where house where it has the circle pillars on each end with circular pillars in the middle (every 8', but the spacing isn't crucial).
I have a very particular client insisting I recreate a specific lineteype. The previous technician used AutoCAD Architecture 2012 to create a shape within the linetype. I have recreated the shape, with my AutoCAD 2014, but am struggling with creating the linetype 100%, and getting into other files.

2013 has a linetype called "proposed tile" and another one called "existing tile." 2012 doesn't have either. Is there any way I can could get those two files so I could load those two linetypes into 2012?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem between my template in inch and the one in mm.
Its the linetype scale that is wrong in the mm one, when i draw in the inch one, everything is fine but when i draw in the mm one, i have to set the ltscale to like 25 to see them at the same scale that they are in the inch one.
My guest is its because i've create my template for the mm one base on the inch one and i just change the unit type to mm. Is there a setting i could change that will arrange this?

I need to do three things in a LISP routine for around 200 drawings. First, I need rename lots of old layer to new standard layer name, like change layer name "CL-RAILWAY-0" to new layer name "CL-0".
Secondly, I need translate some layer to standard layer, like all the things on layer "CL-WATER-160" to layer "CL-0"
Last, change some linetype, like change linetype"CENTER" to "CENTERLINE". I can do all those things by "CHECKSTANDARD" manually, but I really need someway faster and easier.
how to write a lisp that when i activate it, it will change all the objects in the drawings to be change to "Layer 0" and all linetypes "Dashed" change to be "hidden"...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like converting all objects that has forced linetype to be on a linetype layer.
So if there are objects that have forced linetypes - dashed/hidden/phantom, etc., those entities would be moved to a linetype layer based on their forced linetype. The entities would all be changed to color bylayer, linetype bylayer.
So if there is a rectangle that is sitting on an EQUIPMENT layer, the routine would put that rectangle on a new layer called DASHED and change its forced linetype to BYLAYER.
Lastly, once that's done, the next and final step is to locate a the existing layers with matching linetype - say, OBJECTS with DASHED as a linetype, and merging it to that layer.
All block containing Circle, Spline or Ellipse have Linetype Reset when they are scaled in a drawing who contain more that 1 ViewPort. (tested with CAD 2010 -> 2014)

i am having trouble with the excessive styles that shows whenever i copy and paste then the problems occur after that most often. copy paste problems, fatal errors, and my computer hangs most of the time.
Is there any way with a click of a button by using LISP, it will change all the selected object to be changed to a pre-set layer...
Example, after i select a certain entities in a drawing, with LISP, it will change all the object to layer "0"?
Additionally, u also need it to change all selected entities that are in "dashed" linetype to be change to "hidden" linetype..
It appears that the Layer Filters functionality is broken again with 2013. Unchecking the "Apply layer filter to layer toolbar" disables the function of layer filters in the tool palette.

I will use this as a part of script to change multiple block.
I need a lisp can change all elements in block to layer 0 except layer defpoint but still keep linetype, color as it is.
