View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a layer named XYZ, that contains ARC, LINE and POLYLINE. I want to get a list of all linetypes from every ARC, LINE and PLINE. If I open the properties, if I select only the ARC, under linetype I'm getting *Varies*. Instead of*varies*, I would like to have a list of all linetypes (ARC, LINE and PLINE).
Is it possible? WOuld it also be possible to do the same for linescale or weight?
I created a macro to insert layers with a click of the button. I was wonder how I get my macro to add the linetype to it. Also would like a separate macro to make the layer not to plot.
Here is the Macro I'm using: ^C^C-layer;new;A-ANNO-AREA-IDEN;color;6;A-ANNO-AREA-IDEN;;
I remember that there used to be a command I used in an older version of AutoCad, such as "Sort Layer" or similar that would populate all of the layers used in a drawing, which solves the problem of not being able to see all the layers. I believe the default value is not set at a high enough number. What this command is?

Most our our plans sets have several (10+) plan sheets, all with the same reference drawings and layer states (properties) setup. Currently, if we need to change a particular color of a single layer, we need to open up all of the plans sheets individually and change the color (or import a layer state). This takes a lot of time.
We are looking for a third party program where we can run a batch program to update the layer states of several similar drawings automatically, without opening each individual drawing.
As I recall, in previous versions of AutoCAD, when I am in the Layer Properties Manager and I click on an xref under the Xref heading, the only layers shown were the ones in that xref, not all.
That is what is happening now. I cannot seem to find any setting under the settings for the Layer Properties Manager that would change this.
I'm having an issue where the Layer Properties Manager Dialog Box appears to be anchored. Meaning I can't move or resize the dialog box.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently loaded Autocad 2013 and am having trouble with the text showing up in the Layer properties manager dialogue box, all information about the layers is whited out.
Is this a transparency setting?
I am unsure what to change/set to correct this so I can see layer informaion in the dialogue box.
I have been having this issues as of recently, and i am now no longer able to use my "Layer Properties Manager"
Every time that i try to open the "LPM" it gives me an error that says
I have never seen this error before but its making it very miserable for me to have to seperate my work in layers without the use of the "LPM"
I have already un-installed & re-installed twice frankly i don't have anymore time to do this because i have deadlines i need to meet and its becoming a very big pain.
I have a file where the layer manager does not seam to be contorling the bylayer color settings. When I change the color in the layer manager everything seams to work fine. But when I try to creat objects on this layer they we not use the color that I set. They use the original color that the layer was set to. In the ribbon the color default is set to by layer. One interesting thing is that when I pull down the layer menu in the ribbon it will show the old color.
In fact the work around is to change the layer color from this menu and not the layer manager. This is the only drawing I have that exhibits this behavior. Any system variable that would cause this or is this just a coruption of this file. (I ran audit, closed autcad and restarted, verified that all objects are set to manage colors bylayer, default ribbon palets are set to bylayer).
I have too many blocks with specific layers inside.
develope lisp can change all to layer 0 but keep color and linetype as it is.
I will use this as a part of script to change multiple block.
Why is it, when I restore a layer state to a blank drawing, it cannot load the linetypes saved to those layers? I get an error that says Linetypes not loaded and then wind up with a full set of layers all with CONTINUOUS linetype.
If I bring in a block from a toolpalette that has a new linetype and layer, it will create them for me just by inserting the block. Am I missing something??
I have received a drawing with a a layer's print icon grayed out in the layer manager. I can print anything from that layer and I do not know how to switch on printing for that layer. What must I do and what does the grayed printer icon mean?

View 7 Replies View RelatedTrying to change the color of a layer in a viewport (different than the default layer color (i.e. model layer color)). Objects are set to bylayer. Changing the VP color in the layer dialog brings up the color dialog, select a different color, click OK and the VP Color DOESN"T change in the layer dialog. It stays at its previous color. Occurs on several machines.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing where I need to open the layer manager to turn on a layer in a view port but cannot get to that particular column. As you look across the top of the layer manager I can see all the headings of each column beginning with "Name", "Status", "On" and so forth. The last column heading I see is "Description" but I need to go even further to the right to get to the column I need to be at but can't get there. There is no scroll button on the bottom of the layer manager which would allow me to do that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to get the classic layour manger to use the ACA layer manager tools?
In 2008 before the floating layer manager the manager looked as the Classic version does now in AutoCAD ACA 2012 with the tool of "new layer from standard". This tool now only seems to be in the floating layer manager and when I switch to Classic manager the "new layer from standard" is removed from the dialog box.
I want to use the classic dialog but have access to the "new layer from standard" tool
I cannot get the layer color to change in a specific viewport. The property manager shows the new color I have selected, but the color does not change in my viewport.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using AutoCAD LT 2012 and when I create a new layer and set it as current in the layer manager, regardless of what color I set the new layer to, the new layer's color remains the same as the previous one in the properties box even though the colors of the layers are always set to "by layer."
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an XREF that I want the lines to appear has color 253.
I go into layer properties and override the layer colors to 253. Some of the lines in the XREF change to 253. Other lines don't because they are not "By Layer" in the xref file.
Is there a setting in autocad that will override these lines that are not "by-layer"?
I have a layer that's set up to use dashed lines, but in the drawing it comes out as a solid line.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow to create new layer and with line type?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to change my ground conductor from solid green to a dashed line (green is OK) on a set of drawings, but all the dashed linetypes I can find don't show up well at the scale that I've drawn the circuits. I can make them look OK by changing the linetype scale in the properties manager window, but there are a boatload of these lines in eight viewports; finding them all would be a major pain. They are all on a single layer, though, but in the layer properties manager I do not see a way to change the linetype scale for the layer. I could use the properties manager to make the change if I could select everything on the layer. Is there a way to do that?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have loaded an insulation linetype and I needed to make the ltscale of that line .194 in the linetype manager so that it would fit in my 3.5" walls.I would like my insulation linetype to always be drawn at .194 ltscale. All of my other lines/linetypes I would like to stay at 1.00
When I changed the linetype scale of the insulation to .194 every other ltscale went with it. Is it possible to change one ltscale independently of all your other linetypes?
