When opening the layers dialogue box in AutoCAD 2013 the display does not appear to load correctly, I have had this problem before when executing this command and loaded up the old layer manager, I can't remember what the command is for load this.

It happens when you turn on layer manager to adjust each layer settings such as name, line type or color and etc.
Problem is that each layer row disappears and each time it happens, only solution I know is to restart the computer. See the attached image.
I have a client experiencing a layer manager dialog box issue - the layer names are disappearing... This is not happening all the time - and in different files.

All of a sudden this morning clicking Layer Properties Manager gives my acadlt07 a fatal error. (unhandled e06d7363h Exception at 75509673h).
I thought it might be the file I was working on but it is happening with any file open.
Every time I start AutoCAD MEP 2013 I get a Resource Manager Error and then AutoCAD usually crashes. Specifically I get the message
Cannot find the resource string number 21517 in resource AecXBase70.
It lists about a dozen different string numbers.
using autoCAD 2009 everytime I open up the Layer Properties Manager, it causes a Fatal Error and autoCAD to shut down, this is a first and need need to know how to solve this problem or at least a diagnose.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMost our our plans sets have several (10+) plan sheets, all with the same reference drawings and layer states (properties) setup. Currently, if we need to change a particular color of a single layer, we need to open up all of the plans sheets individually and change the color (or import a layer state). This takes a lot of time.
We are looking for a third party program where we can run a batch program to update the layer states of several similar drawings automatically, without opening each individual drawing.
As I recall, in previous versions of AutoCAD, when I am in the Layer Properties Manager and I click on an xref under the Xref heading, the only layers shown were the ones in that xref, not all.
That is what is happening now. I cannot seem to find any setting under the settings for the Layer Properties Manager that would change this.
On Layer Manager can't see VP Color and VP Linetype see picture.

I have been having this issues as of recently, and i am now no longer able to use my "Layer Properties Manager"
Every time that i try to open the "LPM" it gives me an error that says
I have never seen this error before but its making it very miserable for me to have to seperate my work in layers without the use of the "LPM"
I have already un-installed & re-installed twice frankly i don't have anymore time to do this because i have deadlines i need to meet and its becoming a very big pain.
Why is it, when I restore a layer state to a blank drawing, it cannot load the linetypes saved to those layers? I get an error that says Linetypes not loaded and then wind up with a full set of layers all with CONTINUOUS linetype.
If I bring in a block from a toolpalette that has a new linetype and layer, it will create them for me just by inserting the block. Am I missing something??
I have received a drawing with a a layer's print icon grayed out in the layer manager. I can print anything from that layer and I do not know how to switch on printing for that layer. What must I do and what does the grayed printer icon mean?

But the text is almost illegible in the title bar. The title bar is black, the text is black with some cloudy grey background. It is impossible to read. As you look across the top of the layer manager I can see all the headings of each column beginning with "Name", "Status", "On" and so forth. The last column heading I see is "Description" but I need to go even further to the right to get to the column I need to be at but can't get there. I have many layers of data being FDO / SDF and Native Autocad Layers in the Display Manager which controls the DRAW ORDER. I also have 2-3 XREF's attached which when inserted create a separate layer in the Layer Properties. I am trying to separate these XREF layers from the Map base layer and have a new layer created in the DISPLAY MANAGER for each of the xref''s. I right click in the display manager and go DATA>ADD DRAWING DATA>DRAWING LAYER and select the Xref layers. They successfully get inserted into the DISPLAY MANAGER but when checking them on/off, it doesn't control its display. It appears they are still on the MAP BASE.

I'm currently using AutoCAD LT 2012 and when I create a new layer and set it as current in the layer manager, regardless of what color I set the new layer to, the new layer's color remains the same as the previous one in the properties box even though the colors of the layers are always set to "by layer."

However, when I create a symbol style and try to edit it by double-clicking, I get a *Cancel* on the command line and nothing happends. When I pressing the "Style" button on the Display Manager tab in the Task Pane, same thing.I suspect that I missed a step - or several - along the way of importing the SHP file.
