View 3 Replies View RelatedI have in this moment a drawing displaying a layout with 2 Viewports. One of the them has only the View Cube even that the Navigation Bar under the User interface is checked out -greyout anyways as you can see in the Word Document-
In the other viewport, even that the it is active, I do not have neither the View Cube or the Navigation Bar. How is possible to recover these tools and display them in the active Viewport in the Layout that I am currently on.
I am attaching a Word Document that shows better the problem that I am having now.
I can not run purge or recover on the attached drawing file or it will crash autocad. When I run audit it says no errors are found. I don't have access to older versions of ACAD to test this on and the file is dated back in 2008 but not sure which version of ACAD it was created in.
This is the only copy of the file. I've opened it and added some linework and saved it as a newer drawing only to have the same results. The attached file is the unaltered version. I have one other file that I'm having the same issue with as well.
I have a part file with work plane on it (visibility option is checked). When I put it on assembly file, the work plane is disappeared. The part file is on attachment.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just finished working on a file for a client and saved it to the compressed zip folder that it was sent to me without decompressing.
Photoshop seemed to save to the folder without problems but when I went to go to open it again, my work was gone and all that was there was the original file. Did PS save my work someplace else and not tell me, or was it not saving at all despite not giving me any permissions errors?
I have a problem. When I use parametric dimensions in my existing drawing the dimension lines and arrows are there but the numbers are invisible. I can't see them. I have searched over much of the dimension style manager dialogue box and I can't find a setting that would change this (but I could have missed something). When I open a new drawing and draw a rectangle and add parametric dimensions they are visible and there doesn't seem to be a problem. What the hell is going on? (I have not used paramentric dimensions until just recently.) I am first going to the top view, with the z axis perpendicular to the page, before adding the parametric dimensions (in case that makes a difference).
I previously had a problem wherein an entire drawing I had drawn suddenly became invisible, except when the pointer was in certain places and then it was temporarily visible. But that problem was solved when I just shut down the program and computer and then restarted it all.
My right click customization, which would bring up properties as an option, or could unlock a viewport by selecting it and right clicking. and can also select an x-ref to open, or edit in place, and modify attributes, etc.....has disappeared.
All I get now are basic pan/zoom commands, action recorder, clipboard, etc.....I checked my options, nothing has changed in my right click customization field, but for some reason, it's just not working. Any way to get that back?
After just installing 2013, I decided to change the screen appearance and move the command line into its traditional area at the bottom - I over dragged and it disappeared off the screen. I have tried CTRL+9 and using the Ribbon Commands and nothing seems to work.
I have looked at the Preferences and cannot find anything to indicate the commandline or how to customize with the exception of colour and text colour!! Where it has gone and how do I get it back?
I don't know what I did but all the sudden my ribbons are gone, and after a day of research I found that I can type in RIBBON and it will appear. The only problem is I cannot find a solution docking the ribbon horizontally as it was when my program was installed.
is there a 1800 # for questions or just discussion groups?
I installed LT 2013 in November and recently have noticed that the ribbon is masked or overwritten by the banner of my web browser. This only happens when the browser is open and full-sized. If I close or downsize the browser the problem goes away.
If I hover the cursor over the ribbon area the various tools appear, sometimes individually sometimes the entire panel, but never the entire ribbon.
I am using the Windows version of LT with FusionWare on a Mac Pro. Since I only use the Windows platform for Autocad I can't say whether or not this would happen in other programs.
I'm using Autocad 2013, and the Open File Dialog Box has disappeared. Every time I try to open a drawing, it defaults to the command line. I have the same error with Image Attach. It's only my user. Other Users on the computer do not have this issue. Settings to change it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRestore my Model and Layout Tabs at the bottom of the Drawing area. I went to Options/Display Tab, and under the pannel of "Layouts elements" the box of "Display Layout and Model Tabs" is checked, yet, I can't witness this diplayed. Even if I have to toggle something to make it hidden and displayed, where is the place for that? See the pictures of my settings and the Drawing area.

View 4 Replies View Relatedtoday I encountered a very disturbing problem while using AutoCad 2014. I was preparing a complex 3d model and suddenly parts started to vanish on a certain zoom. It was very irritating but the biggest prolem is that after turning it off and on again, those parts are completely missing from the model (without saving).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI added a .PAT file to the 'support file search path' in order to use a custom hatch pattern. (Im using AutoCAD LT 2012)
In the process it has deleted all of the predifined hatch patterns and the custom one did not work either. So now I have ZERO hatch patterns.
How do I get the predefined hatches back?
When copying a symbol (control c) then pasting (control v) I can move the symbol to another location and left click to drop it. Many times when I do this the symbol disappears and you can't see it. If I re (regen) the the entire model disappears. I can close out the drawing then open it back up the drawing has been restored and the symbol will be at the location that I had placed it at. With the same drawing, I don't have these problems with 2012.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is the use of "regular" AutoCAD 2013 as compared to 2013 Mechanical. The question is; our office is divided between Designers that use the regular AutoCAD edition and our Engineers that would like to use Mechanical (rather than the regular CAD). Are there any conflicts resulting from sharing drawings between the two editions on AutoCAD (regular & Mechanical)?
If so, what would be the optimal method for these two departments to collaborate?
I was working on my .idw and my autodesk inventor 2012 fatal errored on me. Well when I re-opened the program and drawing all my work was gone. Does inventor have a back up file like autocad. I know autocad had 2 back up files (.sv$ and .bak). Does inventor have anything like that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I spent 4 days working on a profile last week. And this morning I opened it up and accidentally erased the alignment, saved and closed the drawing (I must have thought it was in another drawing, and I wasn't paying attention).
Now the profile is gone and I'm wondering if I can open up a drawing that was saved before I did this mix up. I checked my autosave path, but the path doesn't exist. So I don't know where it's be autosaving to.
Our server went done and our IT people are trying to recover lost cad files.
We have tried in AutoCAD the recover command with no success.
How we can recover these files or recommend a software to recover these files?
If I were to work on a file and proceed to close it and then re-open it with the intent of undoing or recovering information, is there anyway to do this?
It may be useful for me and others to know if there is a way round in case this does happen.
I am wondering why RPC content in Revit Architecture 2013 is not exporting, or linking when I open up the project in 3Ds Max Desing 2013. I have tried FBX, and linking that, as well as linking an .RVT file, =either "imported" the RPC objects.
Why doesn't 3Ds Max Design support these objects and is there any way to get them into 3Ds Max.
Needed to purge items in a drawing to recover a drawing in order to repair corruption within it it. I purged and audited the drawing in question and then created a block or the drawing elements which I imported to a new drawing sheet. That's great, all is well but.....obviously (now) the only layers, dimscale, etc. items I normally use in my template sheet are gone and only the items remaining after the purge are the ones that were in my original drawing.
How can I, or can I replace my normal full layer list, dim settings, blocks, etc?
I must be missing something on how Linetypes Work. I created a folder where I store all my shape files for linetypes, and added it as both a support file search path and a working support file search path. I tried to provide as much information as I could with the images below. When I try to bring in a linetype I constantly get a bad definition error. proper way to store and implement Linotype standards.

I have drawn my model and am trying to put it into viewports. I have followed the tutorials provided to the letter, but when I create the viewport nothing shows up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2012 to 2013 and we have an excel file that keeps track of all our drawings. In the file there is a hyperlink to open the file in AutoCAD (click the Drawing Name). It has worked fine till we upgraded to 2013. Is there a setting or security issue I need to address to be able to open the Hyperlinks?
