AutoCAD Inventor :: RFA Files From Autodesk Seek?
Jan 18, 2012we get this e-mail from Autodesk extolling the many virtures of Autodesk Seek. I go there and see that most of the files are in RFA format. Can I get these into Inventor by any means? AutoCAD? Inventor Fusion? I do not have Revit.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Insert Ribbon - Seek Search Bar Leaves With Blank Page
Oct 7, 2012I updated to Arch. 13 and some of my content (mainly casework) was not working properly, so I deleted it and decided to just re-download the files. Insert ribbon > Seek search bar leaves me with a blank page. I've tried queries: "casework" "ceiling fan" "furnace" "family" "lighting" and "wall."
I've tried getting through via Revit Architecture as well.
I'm in the middle of a design concept rendering for a client... so this caught me completely off-guard.

May 4, 2012I can't load any glass curtain doors from seek or revitcity. They won't load as a component or door.
I can't place a door into a storefront wall. I get this error saying something like,"cutting surface doesn't not work" I tried to adjust the mullions so that the door would fit, but it still doesn't work.

Jun 27, 2012I'm using Auto Architecture 2013 and the dimensions are always coming in on layer A-Anno-Dims; which is fine for plans. I also use dimensions for reflected ceiling plans as wells as other plan options. I want to set the dimension on the current layer, but no matter where I choose the command (ie command line, ribbon, toolbar, tool palette) it comes in on the same layer. Can I turn this option off? Is there a variable that I can chage?

I know layer translation command is available but every time I have to select what the layers translate to. AutoCAD 2013 :: Grid Snap Auto Off While Selecting?
Jul 26, 2013In 2010, I thought I remember the grid snap would automatically turn off when I was in a command for selecting stuff, then after completing my selection, the grid snap would automatically turn back on. For instance, if I wanted to isolate a layer, with grid snap on and set to 1/2x1/2", the object I would try to select would be in the middle of all the grid points and my curser would just jump around it. I'd have to F9 to turn off grid snap, then turn it back on when I was done selecting.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Auto Layer Translate LISP?
Nov 15, 2013I am trying to figure out if there is a LISP or autocad add-on to start a library of architectural layers to be translated to our layers. So all I would need to do is hit a toolbar button and the LISP/Program would take a layer from archetects prints that I already added to a database that already knows what layer to change that layer to and so if there are different layers in the CAD drawing I can add them to the database so it will be saved for future layer translations. So once we get the database started I am hoping after awhile I wouldn't have to add any layers since they are already in the database to change the layers too.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Preventing Auto-stacking When Entering Mtext - 2014
Oct 10, 2013Recently installed AutoCAD 2014, and I'm currently trying to type the text:
TC1: 2/90 x 35 MGP10 studs with 4/2.8mm dia nails each end
It keeps stacking the 2/90 into the fraction 2 over 90. How can I turn auto-stacking off? I know I managed to turn it off for AutoCAD 2012, but now I can't find the option or system variable.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Disable Auto Sort On Layer Properties Window?
Apr 18, 2013Realitivly new to 2013, upgraded from 2007.
We will alter the Arch Base CAD file layer colors to a muted color for use as our backgorounds. We would sort the Layers by color, so that we could group them together to one base color, so basically layer colors 10-19 would then become 19, 20-29 would be 29, layer colors 30-39 would be 39, etc... If the colors were one of the 9 Base Colors (Red, Yellow, Green...) Red is effectivly the same as color as 10, so then we would make it 19, etc...
In 2007, even thought the sorting was by layer color, the layers rows would remain in the same location until we applied the changes. But in 2013, if we sort by color then alter the color, the layer row will automatically be re-sorted to its proper position in comparison to all other colors. OK I get that, but, if we are altering 40, 50, 60 layer colors, that auto re-sorting is annoying, because then we need to rescroll to our last location to continue.
So, is there a way to turn off the re-sort until we APPLY the colors.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Alignment Data Shortcuts From 2014 In 2013 Are Auto-promoted
Sep 9, 2013 verify if this is the intended forward/backward compatibility between C3D 2014 & 2013.
My project was previously using Data Shortcuts in C3D 2013. I opened the reference (not the source) drawing that uses a bunch of Alignments. During the initial drawing upgrade from 2013 into 2014 I get a message for each Alignment that, "{Alignment Name} was modified in a previous version of the software. Changes in the current were overwritten when the data reference was synchronized.". At this point everything seems fine.
The issue I'm having is that when I re-open that upgraded drawing using 2013 all of those same Alignments become promoted. They are no longer referenced!
AutoCAD 2013 :: If Click Auto-hide On Anchored Palette To Open It - Detaches From The Anchor
Mar 30, 2012Currently using 2013. In 2011 or 2012 when Anchoring Right (or Left) a palette Auto-hide has behavior that seems odd to me. If you click Auto-hide on an anchored palette to open it (and presumably keep it open) it detaches from the anchor. And then when you close it you lose the palette on the anchor. To me this wastes time. I'd like to keep that palette open to work a bit and not have to hassle with it by not having it open, but at the same time don't want to waste time later calling it up and anchoring it again. Is this still happening in 2013?

Dec 19, 2013I have used annotative text and selected yes for match orientation to layout for the text. In the viewport it is rotating automatically with the view, however the boxes around the text do not rotate as well. Is there anyway to automate this?
The Client requires a key plan which has all the pipe data on it. The key plan is oriented in one direction. Then for the plan & profile drawings, the plan is oriented in another direction. I don't want to have two create two sets of text (one for the key plan and one for the plan/profile drawing). How can I use one set of text and make it work in the key plan and for all the plan/profile drawings? Image is attached.
Photoshop :: Use Of Auto Color And Auto Levels - Get Shadow / Highlight?
Jul 8, 2013I was using these tool on a lot of images, because they often seemed to vastly improve them, making the colors pop on otherwise somewhat dull ones, and getting rid of unwanted color casts..
Later though I noticed that it is often at the cost of burning out hightlights in some areas beyond salvation.I also find shadow /highlight sometimes does this also.
Then I tried to protect some small areas with a mask before proceeding, but it seems that I can't find information on just painting a mask, but only videos with much more complex adjustment such as the Russel Crow or Lynda ones with maintaing hair detail while superimposing images, which is way beyond what I need in these cases.
If I try the wand to select and inverse I get unnatural looking divisions. Is it a matter of feathering to the right extent?

Photoshop :: Control Auto-Align And Auto-Blend
Aug 3, 2007I have just moved from 7.0 to CS3 (and PC to Mac) and am currently trying to get to grips with the new features! Once which I love is the auto-align and auto-blend feature(s). My question is, is there any way to control how these features work? I have seen on some web sites people talk about 'fuzziness' sliders where you can control that if an object (pixels) appear in X% of the photos they should/shouldn't be included in the final image but I cannot find these.
My intention is to use these features to take photos of monuments and have the people who are moving about removed from the final image (I guess it's the auto-align that would do this.) I tried a test and took a number of photos at home but I kept moving one object around (a pen.) The pen appears in all the images but in a different location so it always appears in the final image. When I tried auto-align with a stack that included one image without the pen, the pen was removed from the final image. Given the first scenario (i.e. the object is in all the images but in a different location) is there any way of automatically removing it using auto-align or would this have to be a manual process? In the real world, it would be possible to take a photo of a monument with people in different locations but it would be much harder (or take a long time) to take one where at least one person was not in all the photos (there's always someone loitering.)

Jul 24, 2012I am wanting to set up my cad so that when I save a file, a *.pdf file (with the same name as the saved *.dwg file) is automatically generated and dropped in a specific folder. I think that the auto publish should do this for me, but have been unable to get it to generate anything. When I hit save it is prompting me to do the publish, then after I say yes, it shows a brief status bar as if it is working, but when I try to go to the folder to which the publish option is mapped it is still empty.
