we get this e-mail from Autodesk extolling the many virtures of Autodesk Seek. I go there and see that most of the files are in RFA format. Can I get these into Inventor by any means? AutoCAD? Inventor Fusion? I do not have Revit.

I am starting to use Autodesk 360 a little now. Mainly with new Inventor 2014 projects. If I have a project file setup on 360 that I can access from work and from home. Home does content center parts work?
So if I insert a content center part in assembly while working at home will work pc load up the same part when I open assembly at work?Must I have content center mapped to 360 drive or?
I am trying to share documents with outside vendors using the Autodesk Cloud services. I have successfully uploaded files but, out of the six people I have shared the files with, only 3 of them can actually see the files.
My question is this: If I send an invitation to view the shared document to a person whose e-mail address is, "john.smith@HisEmail.com" does John have to use that exact e-mail as his official user name when registering with the Cloud or can he use any user name he wants to?
I updated to Arch. 13 and some of my content (mainly casework) was not working properly, so I deleted it and decided to just re-download the files. Insert ribbon > Seek search bar leaves me with a blank page. I've tried queries: "casework" "ceiling fan" "furnace" "family" "lighting" and "wall."
I've tried getting through via Revit Architecture as well.
I'm in the middle of a design concept rendering for a client... so this caught me completely off-guard.
I can't load any glass curtain doors from seek or revitcity. They won't load as a component or door.
I can't place a door into a storefront wall. I get this error saying something like,"cutting surface doesn't not work" I tried to adjust the mullions so that the door would fit, but it still doesn't work.
Can I demension the interior side of a wall when the wall justification is centerline?
Is there a way to calculate the roof load in revit?
I am getting an error "Unrecoverable Error" when I try to import a .dxf from Autodesk Inventor. I have tried saving as different versions of .dxf with the same results. I am using Version 16.2.0.998 of Corel Draw X6
So I installed TD Inventor Professional 30-Day free trial and I downloaded the installer and went through the download of the installer process and it made an autodesk inventor folder on my desktop. I click on it and it takes me into the C drive under the autodesk file Inventor 2012 TestDrive and has an Application called TDSetup. Once I click on it it does a load wheel then nothing happens.
I can't seem to find a solution and I just installed DirectX.
Simple 1-click feature to publish an inventor file to DWF AND send to the Autodesk 360 account for mobile viewing purposes?
To me this would seem to be one of the primary workflows of an online service?
I am interested to know how others have been publishing their Inventor parts and drawings to 360 for viewing and also potentially whether this workflow is under development in the pipeline.
I imported 24-bit, 48 khz audio-mono .wav-files and dont get an output of them. The Audio from the camera files are no problem. The debug mode shows me that I dont have audio dropframes.
I'm working on a feature film and I have a question about relinking AAF to mp4 material.First let me explain the steps I took:
-source material mp4 files from camera -transcoded to .mov files so we could use it in Avid -export AAF from Avid.
Smoke: -imported all the source clips (mp4 files) with the gateway into Smoke -imported the AAF file -put the AAF file in same reel as mp4 files. -choose Tools/Unlink/Relink and enabled 'Use Clip Name' and Use Timecode.
The problem now is that all the clips are getting linked by timecode only.I discovered that it's because the clips used in avid are .mov files that I want to relink to the mp4 files.
Is there a workflow to substitute the .mov for mp4 in Smoke somehow?I hope there is because now I have to do a lot of manual work (and there is not enough time for)
we normally used 1280 resolution clips with 25 fps..
i do settings with 1280 resolution but, when we import the raw footages in media hub its normally import on 50 fps... its really difficult to always check the fps ...we want always to import the files in 25 fps.
The shop where I work shoots with Sony HVR z7u cameras. The small memory recording unit on the back of the camera records m2t files. Smoke does not seem to recognize these files natively. (Neither did FCP without a downloadable Sony driver). Is there a recommended workflow for dealing with m2t files?
I use a tool which clears Autodesk references from the profile & this fixes a variety of issues.
Generally if the problem isn't seen when logging on as a different user then the profile is to blame.
what the profile does & why it needs to be 'cleaned up' so frequently? Some machines appear to be effected more than others - looking for reasons why this is happening.
I have made a design on autodesk inventor along with gear and motors which give input to the mechanism. (Stewart Platform)
I am able to test the design by giving a random rotary input to a motor component which features availabe on Inventor.
However, I want to control that input somehow. I just want to enter the final coordinates the design needs to reach and the motors should be actuated automatically so as to reach those coordinates.
I have a MATLAB code for the purpose but am unable to understand how to connect it to Autodesk Inventor.
We have recently upgraded from Inventor 2011 Routed Systems to Inventor Pro 2012. We are using XP fully updated to the lastest SP and everything. We have everything configured to our preferences but there is one thing that has been driving me batty. When editing a solid part I open the Style and Standard Editor. Down near the bottom under Realistic Appearance where there should be a ball with a shiney swatch there is a yellow triangle mocking me saying Autodesk Material Library is not available, also none of the bump maps are showing up on new or migrated files whether this is a related issue I am not sure of. All of the normal and custom textures show up just fine, and all the bump textures are in their correct folder in the correct place. I have tried switching the design data folder around with no success.
I am trying to use Autodesk Inventor 2013 with UAC turned on.
Which is fine according to
[URL]
Inventor starts and works fine until we want to use Inventor Studio to render anything. The option is greyed out, if i remove the add-on and re-add it, the options becomes available but all of the options within Inventor studio are greyed out, so it's useless to me.
This is someone else's preview but it applies to this scenario.

I can verify that under the same profile with UAC turned off it all works.
I need to leave UAC on and I need to be able to render using Inventor Studio.
Just got upgraded to version 2013 by IT. Seeing that AD still can't maintain consistency from vers to vers. This version replaced 'Color Styles" with 'Appearances'. But, not just appearances, you have Document Appearances, the Autodesk Material Libray, the Autodesk Appearance Library, and the Inventor Material Library.
Why would the Material libraries show up when clicking the Appearances button when there is another button right beside it to get to Materials.
I mean, who is really going to use several dozen different types of flooring. And why is some metal in the metal category and some in default Category. And then some is in the metal Type and some in the generic Type. Is there really a need for two fields for organizing 'appearances' ? If this were a graphical design program I couls see some of this but it is a cad program. Seems like a case of trying to tailor one product to too many markets.
To the question. How do I unlock the Autodesk Appearance Library so I can get rid of all the junk I don't need and add some really obvious ones that are not there.
I've been unable to import ProRes 422 files son I have to work with the H264 native files, which suck. But now I tried to import a couple of PSDs and a TIFF and they don't appear in the media hub nor can I drag-and-drop'em to the media library.
I have png files with alphas sometimes Smoke will import them as a still frame that I can change the duration of . Other times it will import it with 23.98 time code and then I have to freeze it to extend the duration.
I worked for two days with Smoke 2013. Much easier to get around than previous versions. but for now I will only mention the problem I have, not the qualities I found in this new version.
First day of work was fine, everything felt as expected. Second day the problems start:
> same User, same Project, same Original files and hard drives.
- at startup error message briefly displayed: "failed to create tar files" - upon Importing ProRes 422 files: I set smoke to Create Intermediate files and Proxies (in order for Smoke to use its own files and not the originals): does not do anything. At the bottom left of the timeline I get the message: "can't connect to backburner manager". I tried restarting Backburner. It seems to work, but on reimporting I get this message again. - if I then drag the files from the Finder to Smoke, they appear in yhe library but cannot play (Render Pending message). On first day I worked with the same set of files and Smoke seemed happy. I felt things were going nicely.
What's the easiest way to send a project to a collaborator outside my facility? Everything will remain in Smoke. All media files exist at both locations so we just need to be able to share the project files. Is an archive the best bet?
One shows my finder where the psd files are, and the other shows my desktop within the Smoke library. Only one psd file gets recognized.I tried copying them to different locations, and renaming them, but nothing worked. The ones that don't get recognized are in CMYK colorspace. Is that a problem? How else can I get the layers into Smoke? By converting it to RGB, my layers get flattened.
How can i remove processed files from my HDD. it is taking lots of space in there...??
i am using softfx in the timeline and each time i process it is taking the space i want to keep the last one with which i am happy and remove the others; with the processed files that was created by smoke. so i belive i can save some space in my hdd.
