View 4 RepliesTrying to place this dimension text. Is there any circumstance that someone would want the leader to be the final result of this animation?
Of all the ways to generate a leader (when the correct one to the center of the dim can't be generated), the extremely acute angle version doesn't seem like the best option.
I have the text style set to match text orientation to layout and it works, but when I use the same text style in mulitleader the text doesn't rotate with the layout 2013 Civil 3D
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the management of the cloud of points with autocad 2013. and precisely:
- What is my need: using orthogonal views create section planes of small portions of a cloud to be scanned.
- What is my problem: When I align a view, the bounding box is not aligned to the same, so this involves a wrong cut plane to create the section

I just started using AutoCAD 2011 (I was previously using AutoCAD 2005) and am having a hard time finding my old controls while learning all the new features for which I got the program.

Everytime I use the text tool and want to type text, it is:
1. right aligned, and
2. cursor stays left and pushes text to the right.
All stops are added to the left of the text.
I have already reset the tool and even my preferences.
What I want this block to do is to keep the "REF. NORTH" text aligned and properly spaced whithin a single motion while rotating it with the thick line.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI teach in a large HS and students (and AutoCAD) occasionally stump me. I have architectural templates with layouts set up for Arch D paper. We almost always print to either ANSI B or Arch C paper. I have a routine for students to follow which will properly scale and position the layout on the desired paper size. Occasionally a student will do something to the layout which causes the WCS to be placed other than at the lower left print corner.
The result is the corner of the border line is displaced and half the drawing is off the page. When I check the limits the lower left corner has some very large values (don't know how they got changed). Most of the time we have to create a new layout and copy/paste the border and viewports.
My plotted output is off center, I need getting it back to center.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to know how, if possible to make the attributes of a block show up as text. Example:
I am working on a power utility design where each power pole has a sequential name and may or may not have units that need to be added into a contract. I have my attributes set up where I can go in and assign a required number to a unit so I can export my data into excel. The problem I am having is that I have to enter the text and change the attribute quantities separately. Also, there are 40 or so different units and only a few certain ones required at each pole. Is there a way to set the attribute only to display text if the quantity is greater than zero so my list is not 40 units long at each pole?

I have used annotative text and selected yes for match orientation to layout for the text. In the viewport it is rotating automatically with the view, however the boxes around the text do not rotate as well. Is there anyway to automate this?
The Client requires a key plan which has all the pipe data on it. The key plan is oriented in one direction. Then for the plan & profile drawings, the plan is oriented in another direction. I don't want to have two create two sets of text (one for the key plan and one for the plan/profile drawing). How can I use one set of text and make it work in the key plan and for all the plan/profile drawings? Image is attached.
Recently i came to know about LISP called INCREMENT it is so useful. But i have small problem with that It Increments only in X or Y direction or according to UCS. View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have many text entities in our drawing quoting a number "S3". We need to suffix that number with the text "PT" Most, if not all, of the "S3"'s are MText.
However, the "PT" text needs to be at about 70% of the size of the "S3" and be positioned almost like a superscript. It also needs to be a different colour for pen table reasons.
S3 = Colour 2, 0.35 text
PT = Colour 1, 0.25 text
I want to add a block with a center aligned attribute to drawing file that is not open in the autocad editor; however, the attribute alignment doesn't display when i open the drawing. But when i open the attribute editor i can verify that the alignment is set properly and then after closing the attribute editor window the alignment actually displays correctly even though no changes were made.
I read a number of other posts with the same or similar issue, but i still have been unable to get mine to display right. My code is below. What do I need to do to force the attribute alignment to display correctly?
private void centerAttribute() { var path = @"c: est.dwg"; using (var database = new Database(false, true)) { database.ReadDwgFile(path, FileShare.ReadWrite, false, password: ""); Transaction transaction = null; try { transaction = database.TransactionManager.StartTransaction();
var previousDatabase = HostApplicationServices.WorkingDatabase;

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have alignement of wall or embankment. I have existing ground including this corridor river. I have also CSV file with points (x,y,z). On my sketch there is drawn. Points present FDL (flow defence level) maximum level of river in case of huge rain or other things. These are almost aligned. I need to transform it (project) into alignment. I have to create profile of EG, FDL (based on this point) and then create new profile of height of wall or bank. What is the best solution for projecting this points. I tried with grading (distance and grade0%) I tried then with offsetting this feature line based on points and used it as breaklines. Created surface had holes.Even real is worst because alignment is perpendicular in same places to river.

I have some models which are based on skeleton modeling and where the actual parts are modeled at the position where they are in the assembly. When the skeleton part is changed the parts will update and their orientation related to the origin planes can change. This is where the problem lies, on the drawings of these parts the views are all skewed after an update.
Is it somehow possible to tell Inventor that all views on a a drawing should stay alligned to a workplane? Because it are all parts and no assemblies I cannot use posreps (and I don't want to use dummy assemblies). I also tried setting a specific edge to be horizontal with the rotate command in the drawing. This works for the base view, but all projected views will still be skewed after an update.
