I'm having continuous problems with acad 2012... I installed SP1 and SP2 but the problems continue when the users trie to use the preview option cad in down in a abrupt form without warning.
View 3 Repliess it possible to have a warning, if you're about to export just from the Smart Preview data? I really love Smart Previews and it speeded my workflow very much, but it happend some time that I exported my data without having my external harddrive connected, just working with Smart Previews. So the only "warning" was that it's much faster than usual if you export your files :-) It would be great to have kind of a dialog, if' you're really sure to export just from Smart Previews!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a few lists in my form. The first one decides what information the other lists should have, so none of the choices are the same. I should first add that I have the "OK, Cancel, Apply" option.
Is there any way that I can make the other lists update automatically when I chose something in the first one? The only time they update is when I press the "Apply"-button.
I have parameters and rules that decide what lists should be shown at what option from the first list so I don't think that is the problem.
I have a few viewport on a drawing and when I hit Print I get the following warning:
" some viewports do not fit the right zoom conditions. Do you want to update them before plotting"
It then proceeds to print correct.
What is the reason for this error message and how do I get rid of it?
Now every dwg that is opened the dwg recovery warning box pops up. how do i turn that off?

I've been having a problem with my AutoCAD LT 2010 completely deleting files after I have saved them and closed them. There is no file in the recovery manager, no back up file, nothing. It has happened three times without warning and it always happens to files I've been working on for awhile and have opened and closed multiple times. Is there any way to recover these files and how do I keep it from happening again?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to dimension numerous angles in a drawing, but I have a constraint on where I need the dimension to start from. I'm looking for the "least number of mouse-clicks" solution on this, since it's angles.
I need the dimension to always start from a quadrant, preferably 0 degrees.I'd prefer to simply pick (1) line and have AutoCAD auto-magically dimension that line from 0 degrees, rather than my having to draw short horizontal lines at each of these lines, then pick each one inside the DIMANGULAR command.
One of the features I was really looking forward to in CS6 was creating fillable forms with ONE application. I created a form following the step by step instructions in classroom in a book for CS6. When I opened the exported form in Reader X, I get a "This operation is not permitted" error. I opened the completed "end" document in the lesson to make sure I didn't commit an error, and I got the same message when exporting. I have looked for places in menus to modify security restrictions and I can't find any. I installed the updates and that didn't solve the issue.
I saw one solution posted which is to open the document in Acrobat, then do a "save as" option. Is there anything we can do that doesn't involve buying additional software? If this is not the case, then Adobe seriously needs to change its training and advertising about this functionality.
We have a problem with long (like 10 minute) saves.
If we go to Tools / Options / Open and Save / Thumbnail Preview Settings, in the "Sheets and Views" panel, the "Performance-Accuracy Slider" is set all the way to the right, which the Information Panel lists as "Update thumbnails when saving drawing".
If we manually slide it to the center, listed in the Information Panel as "Update thumbnails when accessed", the Save times become less than a minute.
This setting is not saved and we need to reset it each time each drawing is opened.
There has to be a setting because MY STATION did not have this problem with ANY drawing until our Supplier's Support Team got onto my computer yesterday. NOW it's a problem on my computer also.
Setting the UPDATETHUMBNAIL to "0" works, but then we have no Previews.
Setting the UPDATETHUMBNAIL to "1" does not work.
What is the command to turn off Hatch Preview. When I apply a hatch, Civil 3D crashes/locks up on me. I have created a new layer for my hatch.

We just received ACAD 2012 and I would like to turn off the layout tab preview option/function. We have drawings with upwards fo 60-70 layout tabs in them and the preview is annoying and is causing some issues. I can't seem to find the system variable to trun it off.

This is only happening to one computer in the office. All computers are running Windows 7 Professional with AutoCAD Civil 3d 2011. However, every different export filetype that I try does not allow me to bring the model into AutoMod and still have the colors that the model had in AutoCAD. For example, If I create a car and it has several colors for the metal, the wheels, and the windshield, it brings it over as a single block, all in red. I'm not sure how to fix this. In the old models, I used to use 3DSOUT command, but that doesn't look like an option any longer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am in no way an expert in ACAD.We are experiencing "random" problems where we have a multileader with left justified text and the leader extension option turned on. There is probable a common trait with all the offending leaders but we are yet to see it.
Basically, with some leaders, the landing length is being set to a negative value. We have only noticed this since we turned on the extend leader to text option. The result of this is that the leader lines can sometimes cross through the text. Sometimes we fix them, then they revert to a negative value again when we close the drawing.
We can, of course, uncheck the extension option in the drawing and the problem appears to go away. However, we have unchecked this option in our templates now, but when we open a new drawing based on the updated templates, the option is checked again.
When I go to do a dimension it changes to the dimension layer and then I have to change back to my object layer is there a way to turn this option off?

Examples:
The default of the “Isolate” command is “Lock and fade” For me I prefer to switch the this setting to be “Off”The default value of the command “FIELDEVAL” is 13. For me I prefer to switch the this setting to be “Off”The default setting of the “default mode” is “shortcut menu”. For me I prefer to switch this setting to be “repeat last command” ( I go to options>>user preferences”>>Windows standard behavior>>Right click customization>> default mode>>repeat last command. Is there a way to save these settings on the file such that if we open this file in another computer then we don't need to set them again?
In other words, why aren't the “Default settings” “Option settings” saved on the file the same way the “Drafting Settings: like sanps, Osanps” are?
When I try to copy and pate any element within the same drawing it won´t paste it will say: "specify insertion point" and I´ve given up.
I tried PICKFIRST but it is set to 1, also tried checking if it would fit in my screen or if the zoom was messed up, but nothing works!
My icons, tool bar, option doesn't appear!! D: Circle, Views, 3D, Layers !!! I don't have it!!!
