View 3 RepliesI have a rather weird problem. I am using .dxf files as digital overlays on a new optical comparator we recently purchased. The problem is, the cad files we used to create our old mylar overlays is both 3d and comprised of text/curves/dimensions. I figured out the flattening and turning the text into lines and curves, but I cannot find a method to change the dimension graphics (profile boxes, length dimensions, and angle dimensions) into lines and curves.
When I import them into the comparator program only the lines and curves can be displayed on the comparator. Is there any way to flatten and make all of the dimension graphics lines and curves?
Is there a setting somewhere that will allow you to turn off a layer automatically when another layer is turned off?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI cannot stand it when I make a new layer in Illustrator and the color hint becomes yellow. This usually happens on the third new layer into every project. I can go in and manually change it from yellow to the ten plus other colors, but I just want yellow completely out of the list. It's awful to look at, and I think every other color is easier.

I have a drawing where I need to open the layer manager to turn on a layer in a view port but cannot get to that particular column. As you look across the top of the layer manager I can see all the headings of each column beginning with "Name", "Status", "On" and so forth. The last column heading I see is "Description" but I need to go even further to the right to get to the column I need to be at but can't get there. There is no scroll button on the bottom of the layer manager which would allow me to do that.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been using Inventor 2013 for a few weeks now and for the life of me I can not work out how to turn off the automatic "Edit dimension when created" .
I do know that there are "Edit dimension when created" checkboxes in both the Edit Dimension window and under Application Options. But everytime I restart Inventor, the program seems to forget that particular custom setting and always switches "Edit dimension when created" back on. So that on the first dimension I create, the Edit Dimension window pops up.
For additional info Inventor remembers many of the other custom settings (e.g. compact tool bar, active button on the Quick Access Toolbar, etc...)
It's 2012. I haven't found a setting in the dim style or the RMB options to turn off the extension line. I saw the posts showing drawing a sketch in the view but come on, all that to just turn off the line?

I create a drawing of an iPart, while doing so I have the iPart model open in the background. When placing a view on the drawing the active factory member is the default option, I have a bad memory so forget to tell Inventor that actually I would like to use a specific iPart member in this particular drawing view. I then spend a long time laying out and dimensioning the drawing. When complete, I create a second sheet and copy all information from sheet 1 onto sheet 2. I then double click on the main drawing view and change the model state to an alternative factory member. At this point I realise that the drawing on sheet one is based on the active factory member and start swearing.
The result of changing to a different member when the existing drawing is based on the active member is that ALL DIMENSIONS DISSAPEAR FROM THE DRAWING AND HAVE TO BE PAINSTAKINGLY REPLACED. At this point I will usually REDRAW SHEET 1 so that further sheets can be created quickly in the future by selecting an alternative factory member.
can I change the software defaults somewhere in the setup to prevent the 'active factory member' being displayed as an option in the first place?
I'm using BIMLink to adjust parameters in a model... If a dimension ends up being zero, is there a way for me to have conditional formatting to turn off visibility of a dimension with a zero value?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using Revit Architecture 2012 and I am trying to create a Room Tag. I have attached the file below. I want the tag to read the room name and the room dimensions. Then I would like an option to turn "Unfinished" on and off. I can get this to work as long as it is a type parameter. When I load it into the project it works well and everything is there. But if I change it to an instance parameter (which is what I want) then when I load it into the project the option to turn the "Unfinished" on and off has disappeared.

For some reason it turned off and erased all my previous watermarks tha I had made for my photos.

I created an illustration in Painter 8 and I would like to bring that image into Photoshop. I saved the Painter file as a jpeg, but when I try to open it in Photoshop, I get the message, "pixel aspect correction is for preview purposes only. turn it off for maximum image quality." The image comes up as a sliver of color, totally unrecognizable. So, I go to View > Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction and uncheck and the image is corrected. It looks fine now.
I have an existing psd file that I've been working on for a while which is my working portfolio. I tried to take my newly corrected image and drag it (or copy it) into my portfolio file. At this point, I get the same error message. But this time, there is no option to turn off "Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction" because it's greyed out.
In model space I've created a house plan with layers for Mechanical, Plumbing, Electric, furniture, etc. I've also created in numerous Layouts (paper space) created my view ports of the base plan. I want to turn on/off individual layers in each of those Layouts. How is that done?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs we know we can freeze a layer on VP level. Is there any way to turn a layer on/off, on the block level?
Let's say, you have "Text" layer. You make a block out of other blocks (nesting blocks) which they contain objects on "Text" layer but you don't need those objects on your new block and on just that block you want to turn them off.
How do I turn off the defpoints layer so it does not appear when i use the dimension tool while editing a block. I simply want to turn it off so the layer doesn't appear in the layer manager.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy LT 2012 for Mac does not show a tool for "display all layers" in the layer pallet. I've fished around for some option to add this tool or expand the upper row of existing tools, but can't seem to find it. Does this feature exist in LT for Mac? If so, any guidance on how to make this tool active? Right now, I have to select all layers in the panel and then click the display button of one to change all selected, but I notice in tutorials for Windows based versions there is an icon for this function.
