AutoCAD 2010 :: Locked Position Mode Of A Visible Attribute
Jan 8, 2013
Is there any way to edit (remove) the "Lock position" mode of a visible attribute in a block once the block has been created? This characteristic does not show up in BATTMAN for editing.
Is it possible to setup a block so that an attribute position remaines fixed (absolute to drawing) when moving the block?
I've been playing around with creating a Coordinate Block by following these instructions: [URL] ........
What I would like is to be able to set the position of the Coordinate Label and Coordinate Object independently, so that if I move one in the drawing, it doesn't move the other. I've looked into Dynamic Blocks, and the "Lock Position" parameter. I can move the attribute independently, but still everytime I move the block, the attribute moves too.
Our company uses a custom Sheet/Coordinate system to follow flyoffs across a drawing, and I'm trying to learn how to automate the process. It's completely manually right now, so any changes to a drawing creates a lot of work renumbering these flyoffs.
this in an issue ive noticed for a long time now across a few versions of ACAD, not sure whats causing it. When i try to draw an XLINE sometimes the command will get locked into either horizontal or vertical mode, without me choosing that option. seems to based on the OSNAP pickpoint i grab maybe.
attached are pics of the process.
i run XLINE, pick endpoint and bam, its locked into horizontal mode, very annoying if im trying to make a vertical and horizontal line based off the same point.
creating a block with attributes. I did manage to get my block set up and inserted in a dwg, but I am unable to change the "value" of any attribute. Unless I click on the "..." button next to the value field.
any way to view invisible block attribute? I created a block and the attributes really don't need to be seen in autocad just there for dataextraction and keeping it all in one location i want to go back through and make sure i have information filled in in all the right invisible attributes without having to open each block and check the attributes, but i don't want them permanently visible (i know i can freeze them or put them on a non plot layer but it clutters up the space when there is 20+ attributes to a block)
I just started working with Acad 2012 on 3/26/12 and opened a drawing from 2009. When I started working on the drawing the attribute was visible. It remained visible until yesterday afternoon. When I use the block editor and open the block it shows the attributes.
My question is: How do I get the attribute to show up in my drawing again?
What I really want to do is on our fire alarm blocks we have 3 different attributes one for the address, the candela and one for misc info. I want to make an attribute that takes the number from the candela (15,30,75or 110) and change a different attribute to a value depending on which candela we use (such as 15=.078, 30=.113, 75=.195 or 110=.259). But I don't want the .078,.113,.195,.259 to print out on paper, I want to export block information excel file so I can add up all values.
I was on a tight deadline. I got a massively layered, -- nested folders everything -- .psd. I'm using Photoshop CS 5.5
I only needed the visible layers. So, I go to "Delete Hidden Layers" right? Ooops it was grayed out, I could not use it -- that was because of the locked layers...
Then I realized -- in the complicated layer structure I had to go through every single folder, open it, look for a locked layer and unlock it (nested folders inside of nested folders etc.). If the layer was not visible and it was locked, I had to first turn it to visible, then unlock it, and then turn it off again.
I was on a deadline, and I just didn't have time -- but I had to do it anyway. This was a painful experience... I'm telling designers from now on NEVER SEND ME A PSD WITH LOCKED LAYERS AGAIN
It would have been so much easier if I could just search for "locked layers", and "unlock all."
I am running PS v7 with XP pro, and I have replicated the following problem many times, but only on my machine. My laptop PS is fine. Here is the problem...
Whenever I double-click on the foreground color in the color palette (or otherwise try and change the color), PS goes into eye-dropper mode, disables everything else (including the ability to shut the program down) and will not let me do anything. I end up having to go to task-manager to kill the process. This is very strange, but unfortunately happens 100% of the time I try to change colors in PS.
Im trying to wire an object's Z position to a custom attribute. I've frozen transforms, but whenever i wire the zero euler Z position to the attribute, when i control the attribute, i notice that my object is moving relative to world, and not to its position.
I want to move it along its own Z axis, not world axis.
We are running multiple instances of Inventor on a workstation server with a bog standard graphics card.
These Inventor instances are loaded without the UI, in silent mode and with save reminders etc. all disabled.
We're always trying to get the best performance out of the servers and to date we've been given the impression that Inventor won't utilize the graphics card under silent / none visible mode.
If Inventor does still use the graphics card for some reason then we can stick a bigger card in and hopefully get some improved performance.
I have a biped that I created to rig a horse. It was originally created in 3da Max 9. The problem is that through the years and different max versions it has worked fine for the most part. But sometimes when I take it out of figure mode the clavicles want to go back to the original rotation. See the attached images.
I have used the rig in 3ds max 9 3ds Max 2010 and now in 3ds Max2011.
This problem occured mainly in Max 9 and now in Max 2011. I have had it happen on other bipeds used in normal upright biped mode.
It has a run cycle animated on it and the biped behaved the whole time it was being animated.
I recently put it in figure mode to model a saddle on the horse and now it jumps when I take it out of biped. I just reinstalled Win7 and completed all wundows updates and loaded Max 2011 and put sp1, sp2 on. A week ago I was working with it with no problems. Since rebuilding the system I have this problem.
os windows 7, upgraded to Gimp 2.8.4 I open an .xcf file and go to single window mode. everthing looks ok the zero offsets on the rulers are where they should be and I can see the bottom of the gimp window where the % size change is. I then ask for a new tool bar which is provided and locked to the widow. if i go to full screen and then back the picture is pushed down as are the ruler zero's and i now can't get to the bottom of the screen. this annoying behavior does not seem to happen in multi window mode. attached is a screen capture.
I've been using Illustrator for many years but I ran into a problem today I've never seen before. I have a feeling it's something simple that I've overlooked.
All the objects in my project are invisible. When I hover over them, the object edges appear, and they retain their color if I double click them to put them in isolation mode. But that's it. Exported images are just white spaces the size of the artboard. All my other files display as they should, it's just this one.
I worked around it by copying and pasting the objects into a new file. So I think it must have something to do with the settings in this document.
My PS don't want to understand me! Every time i close brush panel, save document and every time after starting PS i see this panel. In preference i try picking "Remember Panel Location", but it's not working. And this software don,t save last color mode, i start PS with grayscale mode.
In liquify mode the picture is not visible at 100% magnification and above. It's perfect between 25 and 66%. If I turn the hardware acceleration off it works but slow. Doesn't work with PSD, jpeg, 8 or 16 bit. I did reset the PS. It had been working during the morning and stopped to work hours ago despite nothing happened: I haven't installed or removed any software. My PS is clean, I don't use any add-on or 3rd party filter. I have this problem with AutoCAD 2012 and with LT2011. When first opening a drawing in a layout with the viewport locked and activated, the first scroll action moves the drawing within the viewport. After the first scroll, any scrolling moves the entire viewport as it should when locked. Putting the drawing back to where it was within the viewport requires unlocking the viewport or undoing everything back to the first scroll action. This is very anoying especially if you are zoomed in and can't see the edges of the viewport and don't notice the move right away. I did not have this problem in the older versions.
Working in AutoCAD 2011. Unable to modify text once the text box is closed. I can only erase and re-write once closed. Bummer! When I re-select and double click on text, neither the box that typicallly encloses the text nor the "drop down box" w/ the various modifications that can be made appears. This includes new text just written since re-opening the file and existing text that was entered in previous sessions. I don't see anything that indicates that the text is "locked" or otherwise restricted from modification.
I am trying to draw dimension leader arrows. I start "_LE QLEADER" and go to settings and tell it I want my arrowhead to be "closed filled". I draw the arrow, and it comes up as a "DOT" arrow.
I can change this in the Properties, but who wants to do that every time? When I go back to "_LE QLEADER" and go to settings, the arrow block is set back to DOT, even though I just changed it to "closed filled".
I used "rename" to rename my "closed filled" block to "dsfsdfsdf", in case the block got redefined somehow. My dimblk is set to "", as are dimblk1 and dimblk2. Tried both setting of dimsah as well.
I do not see any "CExxxxxx" variable which might control this.
I have made gridlines and put them on a locked layer. I want to be able to see them and snap to them, but I don't want to select them. Their selectability is hindering my ability to select objects on other layers. Is there any way to make lines on locked layers not selectable? (I don't like the Autocad standard grid.)
My colleague made some drawings using AutoCAD 2011. Somehow the sheet status in Sheet Set Manager says all the drawings are locked for editing - it was unintentional. The drawings can be fully viewed only from the computer, which created the drawings. In other computers, we can only see the text. The model view and the bottom of the drawing which contains drawing number and other info do not show.
We need to deliver our drawings to the customer so they can see the coordinates in the maps/drawings.
How could we change the status or unlock it so the customer can view the entire drawings? If possible, we still want the drawings unable to be edited.
In our computer, we have AutoDesk Vault - did it somehow kicked in automatically?
how to adjust the transparency of locked layers? Also when I isolate a layer the other layers appear semi transparent, is it the same setting to adjust this transparancy as well?
The stage size you see above is H: 400px, W: 550px.
I would like for the stage to be smaller, say H:50px./W:400px
Ok so if I change the size of the stage the animation text will not show, so I need to adjust the position of the text in order for the animation text to be visible, but in doing that, I am disrupting the timeline and the animation goes all funny, is there another way of doing this without disrputing the timeline?
