View 3 Replies(Again) The “leader” of the “dimension text” disappears when the text is moved! Why?
I’m wondering why the “leader” of the “dimension text” disappears when the text is moved.
How can I control this setting?
I need to show this “leader” all the time. Is that possible?
Please, have a look on the screenshots below (the file is attached).
Suddenly, I must have hit something, all new text added to my drawing when using Multi-line mode is Upside down. When using single line mode new text is backward. When looking at the properties the text is NOT shown as upside down or backward and my text style is set to Standard and has not changed. This problem is isolated to the current drawing. If I open a new drawing text is entered correctly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to move the horizontal text of a vertical dimension that's outside of the extension lines to the right or left?
This was possible years ago with a simple stretch or moving of the text grip. Now, if the dimension is above the extension lines, the text is to the right. If it is below the extension lines, the text is to the left.
How do I edit a dimension text to add a second line (so dimension on top of the line and text on the second line)?

on another PC this:
So, some angle and aligned length dimensions are mirrored.
PDF previewed with Adobe Reader and Foxit PDF reader.
File is created and printed in 2010 LT, hence no UCS rotation, text style and print settings unaltered.
I have a problem to edit the dimension with autocad 2012. When i try to double click on the dimension text, i have a error message. This command doesn't exit.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhy my dimstyle appears different when I use different versions of AutoCAD.
In LT it is correct (left hand image), both styles are STANDARD font but in the full version (right hand image) the suffix text style is ROMANS.
I lost my dimension text on all my drawings when I converted with Windows 7. I did reload the 2010 software from scratch. I am thinking it is some type of .dll file issue or font issue.

I want to draw an object similar to the dimension that contains two arrowheads with TWO “text dimension” to indicate the range each “steel bar” covers. This is important to indicate the range the two bars cover with the same dimension object.
Have a look on the screenshot below . The file is attached.
know if there a way to use fields in a table to pull the measurements out of dimensions snapped in a drawing (or layout) and place them in that table.
I create framing drawings and am looking for a quick way to put together a cut list without having to manually type dimensions into a table.
I have a rather weird problem. I am using .dxf files as digital overlays on a new optical comparator we recently purchased. The problem is, the cad files we used to create our old mylar overlays is both 3d and comprised of text/curves/dimensions. I figured out the flattening and turning the text into lines and curves, but I cannot find a method to change the dimension graphics (profile boxes, length dimensions, and angle dimensions) into lines and curves.
When I import them into the comparator program only the lines and curves can be displayed on the comparator. Is there any way to flatten and make all of the dimension graphics lines and curves?
i was asked to assist with plotting some coordinated on a drawing, the catch is i need to re orientate the UCS with Y+ at the top of the screen, X+ to the right, Y- to the bottom and X- to the left..
I managed to get this part right, that was the easy part.....
However when i went to put any Dimension or even Text on the drawing it was Backwards and Upside Down.
I have added a small screenshot for reference ....
If I place a dimension and have text above and below the dimension line (using X), and then grip edit the dimension text to move it for space/clarity on plans, the text above and below the line will mysteriously move closer to the line. If I have backgrounds applied to the text, which I normally do, the backgrounds will cover the line. Even without the background, it looks odd next to other dimensions that were not grip edited.

Occasionally the text is upside down in tables (mirrored, not 180 degrees). This seems to mostly happen after I copy another table and edit the information. The mirrored text actually is hidden until you double click the cell to edit it. Now, after playing around with one of these cases I can't even select the text at all, it is completely hidden and I can't type anything in the cell.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem in one project. When I enter the text mode there is a cross-hair with a t on an arc. When I type text it's upside down. I've tried adjusting the direction, changing fonts still doesn't work. It doesn't happen on any other projects.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am attaching text to a path, but on the bottom of the ellipse, the text is upside down in relation to the text at the top of the ellipse. I am going nuts to try and resolve this. I have CD6 The Official Guide at my side, and no luck.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get the dimension text that I pull out to the side closer to the actual dimension marks. The 2 1/2" and 2" shown have a minimum distance they can get toward their dimensions. I would like it to be about half of what it is, but so far I haven't been able to find the property that changes that.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen doing an angle dimension and trying to put text under the dimension line, the text types out straight which if long enough will extend over the dimension line. Other then creating text with arctext, is there no other way to get it curved? I am using AutoCAD 2010.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy normal dimension style has text above dmension line & I want to add 'typical' to it below dimension line.
I have done this lot of time in my previous job an year back. but I can't seem to remember what to type between dimension text & the word I want to add in edit text box, so that it appers below dimension line.
is it possible to have a dimension style setup that shows the dimension text inline with the dimension - without having to move it?I have been looking but cannot seem to do it - is it possible and I am just missing it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy office has two desktop printers, both HP. Our Officejet 7000 wide format prints great. On the HP Officejet 7500, we are often seeing text printing errors. It will not print the text from vertical dimension strings, and cuts off some M-text at an imaginary vertical line in the middle of the text box. PDF's of the same drawing look fine. Is this a printer driver issue? Is there anything I can do within AutoCAD?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with changing the height of the dimension text. I have tried going into the style editor and changing the text height in there and then saving it. The number for the height that I changed stays saved however the actual text height on the drawing does not, not even after I tell it to update.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have detail drawings that contain horizontal and vertical dimensions. They're drawn at full scale in model space and saved as individual drawings. We then insert them as blocks onto a sheet in paper space, scaling them down to 1/2", 1/4" scale ETC.
Here's the problem - all the vertical dimension text appears bolder than everything else when scaled down. Horizontal text is just fine, diagonal text also looks a little bolder though.
When i mark Text/Dimension/Multileader and such in autocad 2011 LT, i get an issue, which i have tried to shown on the picture. The problem is that when i mark them, they show the current size they have, plus any other size they have had (Annotation it seems).
I Make a dimension. The overall annotation scale is 1:10. Now i change the overall annotation scale to 1:100. Then i set the overall annotation scale back to 1:10, i click my dimension, and it now shows how it currently looks, plus how it looked when the annotation scale was 1:100. This way i end up with every text object showing up 5 times when i mark them.
Home and work computers act differently when I initiate the dimension text edit command. One moves both the text and the dimension lines and the other only moves the text. It doesn't appear to be the dimstyle so I am wondering if it is a setvar.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to change the dimension style somehow, such that it adds 3 units (in this case inches).I have a client that wants the neat length of the pipe given above the dimension line, and the length with extra sock below the dimension line.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm having some problem when I preview my drawings for printing. View 6 Replies View RelatedIn AutoCAD 2012 My dimension style/scale seems to change automatically. I'll add one dimension in paper space, and then the very next dimension will be in a different style. It will say 30" one time, then 400" the next. Seems like it picks its own scale randomly. It happens with the default dim styles as well as custom styles.
