how to add, in this case the "Dashed2" Linetype, to my drop down selections and have it stay there pernamently? I know how to add it but every time I start a new drawing it is missing again.

I tired to edit the default linetype file even it doesnot appear in the linetype manger windo.

Is there a way to add a node onto a line when you're making it? Obviously you can just make the line, shape it, and then make a new one to get more nodes, but I find it annoying to line up and such. If you can't add more manipulation nodes onto it, that should be a feature!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a new linetype. It is a simple linetype, made up of a continuous chain of capsules that I've attached here. I understand that linetypes require shape files and line definition files. However, AutoCAD isn't even telling me how to create the shape file(s) I need to begin making the linetype.
The capsule is .12 units long at its widest, and will need to connect end-to-end.
How can I create a line type for a PID software signal using a dash line and a filled in circle dash line? I have tried to use the donut feature as a shape file and a filled in circle as a shape file to define my line and neither has worked. what I am trying to create for a line type.

I draw, and after, I would like to know, how to change the fonts in my custom line types (for example --HW--) from ARIAL to TAHOMA. If I change my Text syles and reload mu custom linetype it doesn't change the text fonts.
For some reason my line type is not showing up properly in my viewport. In model space my lines are dotted, but when I go to viewport they show up continuous??

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have several students working in 2012 or 2013 PC & Mac education edition who set the line type properties correctly but the line does not "read" correctly. Checked global scale factor, listed the content to confirm layer and line type as hidden, etc., checked the properties, made sure the line type and color were set to "by layer". It doesn't matter between model or paper space - the lines will not read.
View 6 Replies View RelatedUsing AutoCAD 2013 and TOL command to generate feature control frames. We set our lineweights based on layer assignments.
Problem is that when printing, AutoCAD seems to randomly assign a lineweight to the feature control frames. It can vary from what it's supposed to be (such as lineweight set for the dimension layer) or thicker than even what the object lines are set at. Seems to pick a random linewieght at time of printing for these elements (just the boxes, not the symbols/text itself).
Is there a setting we should be defining somewhere to force it to follow the lineweight of the layer that it has been assigned to? Known bug?

Essentially i'd like it start with a leader and instead of your normal text dial that appears, you get a box to punch in values in a grid. 5 columns across, as many as two rows.
The idea being if i punch in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in the first six boxes all 5 in the first row appear with boxes around each number and then only the 6 has aa box around it on row 2.
I can see it as a table 5x2, and the format option being if the cell has text, the border type is outline. Although i don't think those options exist for inventor.
I can add Feature Control Frames in a Drawing Curve but i can't do it in General dimension. How I can add Feature Control .

I am finding the layer combo control in 2010 an annoyance. The drop down box does not access as many layers as did the version in 2009, and I find myself continually searching through the drop down box to reference a particular layer. How to rectify to have it similar to 2009?

I know I can just erase the table and then reselect all line callouts to create a NEW table, but I was wondering if there was a way to just select the line callout I missed and have it added to the parcel table without recreating a new one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt has recently become impossible to control the type cursor in Photoshop (also Illustrator and InDesign) so that I cannot select anything with any accuracy.
To begin with nothing on the first line of text can be selected at all and deeper into the text it is not possible to select a singe line of text or a single word or letter. The cursor simply selects in a totally erratic way selecting blocks of text.Therefore it is not possible to edit any text.
I'm using gimp on the surface pro (windows 8) and how I can add a control key toggle to gimp (for doing paths) without having a separate keypad.

Really hoping there's some way to control leading for area type over multiple styles and various font sizes simultaneously.
Know I can change the auto leading percentage, but that's rudimentary.
For example, how can I add leading incrementally to this column without a lot of tedious selecting and style editing?
Is there a way to control weight of line for hatch?
I'm trying to make some style for number of areas and when I do hatch on a paper it's almost invisible because it's weight!

In Autocad 2006, is there a way to control the length of the dimension line when it extends outside of the dimension distance itself? In other words, when a dimension is small, and the arrowheads flip to the outside of the dimension parameter, the text and the extension line outside of the dimension seems to go to far outside of the dimension area..
Can I control how far outside of the dimension area that this line and text are placed? They seem to go to far out on my drawings. I prefer them to be closer to the actual dimension area instead of extending so far out.. Didn't know if there was a control for this and where to find it.
I have to flip out dimension lines/arrows all the time. How do I control the length of the dimension line when it is outside two lines?

Changing the "Fit" name from "Close/Normal/Loose" to "Press/Nominal/Slip" to make it more user friendly in the hole wizard.DeterminE how to create a custom hole callout in .idw drawings for this new hole type. I would like to use the Hole Callout feature and have it automatically place our specific hole information/text for the machine shop to create the hole.

I have attached the clearance.xls file we modified to get this new fastener type to show up in our hole wizard.
When we export a DES to WMF with embedded bitmaps in the source document and using the VB macro call ExportEx(), the bitmaps are saved as .BMP files. We would prefer to have the embedded bitmaps saved as JPG files.
And I am not a VB programmer so a few sample code lines would say a lot.
Is it possible to control the UCS without using the command line? I'd like to access it and control it with vlisp much the same way I can access DXF groups and manipulate insertions. Seems like it should be possible to play with it's definition inside the object model.

It seems like this particular drawing has issues not seen elsewhere.(besides the fact it was badly drawn) After some time playing with all the settings. We turned on the zero layer and then all the nodes were available as usual.
i've been using AutoCad for 20 years and never seen this. Is this some kind of new feature?Can you control the snaps with a layer? WHY?

The layer control dropdown in the layer toolbar is just showing the state of the selected object or layer 0 if nothing is selected. Same for the ribbon combo. But it's working in the Quick properties dialog.

Is there a way to turn this off? If i am just looking at layers, I don't want autocad to change my current layer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, when I add type to a document sometimes CS6 is adding `a kind of fake stroke to the copy and thickening it. I know I've not got a stoke on the type and I've tried changing the aliasing. If i click on the type it disappear... click off... it appears again. It even printed on something the other day.
