When i attempt to change any value of any dimension style, i am no longer given the 'Ok' option to finish and close the dialogue box. Instead i get an error code.
I recall that it arose when using civil 3D 2013 (which i've since uninstalled) and has continued into AutoCAD 2012 (installed post civil 3D 2013 uninstall).
I have some radial dimensions that I want to change to my current dimstyle. I can not see a way to change them. If I select one and check it's properties, the "Dim Style" biox is greyed out and can not be changed.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded AutoCAD 2012 and when I try to open it my computer automatically shuts off without even openig AutoCAD. I tried downloading the newest version of AutoCAD 2013 and it does the same thing. Inventor fusion seems to open and work properly but not AutoCAD.

A simple windows form command dll to test within the VS2012 + AutoCAD 2012
Bug: when debugging with VS2012, the first command runs fine and I can debug it with breakpoints etc etc. However, after the first debugging session, if I try "File"->"Open" or "New", file dialog will popup and then my AutoCAD 2012 crashs.
It won't happen if I compiled the dll, and load directly from AutoCAD independantly running instance.
We have a base drawing that is xreffed into other drawings, it is made up of various building sections (some horizontal some vertical). We have dimmed the grids using linear dimensions. When we bring in the drawing as an xref and rotate it 90 degrees (so the vertical sections are now horizontal) all the dims are now upside down.
Is there a variable/method to stop this from happening.
I used to be able to edit the dimension to include background mask and suddenly cannot.
i really need the BGM.
I am creating an image of 150mm x 100mm at 300dpi but photoshop keeps adding decimal points like 150.02 when i change the image from the original size, is it something I am doing wrong or a known bug? You would expect that when you change an image to 150 x 100mm it would stay at that size and not be added to.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the Autocad 2013 educational version. I have a drawing with a .ctb file. When i print, it is printing with the lines in colour. I would like the lines to print in black or grey. I assume I need to change the plotstyle to a monochrome.ctb plot style, but cannot work out how to change the plot style.
Is the plot style changed in the model or paper space of the drawing, or in the print menu?
- I have looked extensively under File/ print and can find nowhere to change a plot style.
- under File/ plot styles I can select from a list of .ctb files - but it only allows me to edit them - not apply them to the drawing.
- In the drawing under the properties inspector i can see a plot style menu and it is currently showing the option ' bycolour' when I click on the pull down options menu, there are no other options. There is also a 'plot table type; but it says this is ' not available'
-When i type plot styles in the drawing it brings up a bring s up an edit plotstyle table window, and this has a pull down menu that displays arrange of plot styles , but when I select one it only allows me to edit the plot style table and save and close. It does not actually apply it to the drawing.
There is a font and table style called "Legend" that is automatically generating and can not be purged.
I have looked through all the start up files, all the lisp files and can't find anything that would be creating them!
They appear in any file I open, new or old and even if I open a template file.
I have attached a file that should be empty but you will (or should) see both a font and table style called "Legend".
(FYI I am running AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 as AutoCAD 2010)
Is there any way to lock a text style so that the associated font style can not be changed?

On one PC, I can see my Libraries from the "save as" and "open" dialogue boxes and on the other I have can't have have to dig down to find the folders I want to save to. I don't have any plug-ins installed, and I have not edited the registry.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe company I am working for has the old 2000 version of AutoCad. They send me drawings with blocks and attributes. But when I start working on them the system will lock up and not let me do anything else. I can maybe get two or three commands in then it will lock up. It doesn't even let me send a C.E.R. (customer error report) I have downloaded all of the service packs and the hot fixes but the problem persists. I don't where to go from here. My co worker thinks it may be a memory problem but I doubt it.

I mean I have created new paragraph style with 10 pt Arial font and applied to different paragraph. And now I have edited the same paragraph style with 16 pt. Arial font, now how it will applied at once to all old style that I have used.
When a user closes ACA 2012 (sp2)he gets an empty crash message.
We are running win7 64bit.
Is this supported by Autodesk, and will installing both products create any issues?
View 3 Replies View RelatedA selection box has appeared out of no where in AutoCAD 2011. Whenever I enter a command then select an object a dialogue box called 'selection' appears with a list of possible objects for me to select.
It is extremely annoying. I have attempted to turn it off in options> setting but nothing seems to turn it off.
Is there a way of applying a Text Style Preset globally to all photos in your Book? I changed my background color to near black globally and since the default font is also black, all of my captions need to change to white. I'd also like them a little larger. It seems the only way of doing this is by selecting each caption individually, then changing its preset. That's ok for a few photos, but not very appealing for 100.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on 2010, and I can't get the PURGE dialogue box to show up when using the PU shortcut. It will open if I type out PURGE completely, but when I type in PU, stuff just shows up in the command prompt. I even went into the alias-editor and made sure PU = PURGE. I've never had this issue before, but I'm on a new system because I started a new job. At my last job, we were also using 2010, and everything was fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is the first time I experience a major problem with Revit 2012. I created a duplicate of an 8" concrete masonry wall for my student project. Then I selected the Edit option in the Structure to change the rendered material to concrete masonry. Suddenly the program freezes and crashes. A window pops up stating that Windows has detected a problem with Revit and must shut the program down. I've everything since my last save. As of now, I recreated a duplicate of the masonry wall I need and started drawing some of the walls for my project but I'm afraid to experiment with other materials. Background Information about my computer: I downloadeda free version of Revit 2012 student software to practice at home. I have Windows 7 64-bit, 6GB of Ram and Intel (R) Core i7 2.20GHz...(I checked all the software requirements before downloading the correct version of Revit 2012)
Do I have to uninstall the program and reinstall it again? Would the problem go away?
We are curently using ACAD2011.
I installed ACAD2012 but never got the Migrate custom settings box upon opening ACAD2012 for the 1st time.
I reviewed Autodesk Help that ensured me that I could also find it thru:

Epic fail... all that showed up there was export and import autoCAD 2012 settings.
Where oh where could my migration tools box have gone? Why is it not there?
(FYI, this happened to us when we upgraded from 2010 to 2011 also but we thought we had done something wrong so we eventually just manually transferred files over. That was very time consuming and we do not want to perform that exercise again.)
Is there a system variable that disable the "Rename and Renumber Sheet" dialogue box from appearing when double clicking on layout tab of current drawing which is part of sheet set?
I used to be able to just double click on a layout tab and change it. This dialogue box can't seem to edit it if the drawing is open. We use the layout the tab as current revision of drawing.
I know I accidentally click on yes before when it asked me if I want to use the dialogue box to edit layout tabs but can't seem to find anything on how to disable it.
I am having a problem in CS6 Photoshop where I never experienced this in CS3-5.
I am designing a website and when I apply a drop shadow or inner shadow to a layer through layer style/blending options in the layers tab. It applys the same angle etc.. to all the other layers I have done styles too...
I will have 5 + layers done with styles and I will make a new layer and give it a shape, open up blending options and when I do a drop shadow and change the angle I literally can see everything on my layout change angles also when I move it around for just ONE layers style... What on earth is going on? This makes it impossible to make unique designs unless I keep flattening my PSD and transfering stuff over which destroys workflow.

View 9 Replies View RelatedA work mate here at sometime or another clicked on the "always perform my current choice" check box when the "Hatch - Large, Dense Hatch Patterns" dialogue box appeared.
Question is, is there anyway to reset this so the dialogue box comes back up?
I was working on setup up several camera animations in a file. I saved the file, and put the settings in for all 4 cameras to render. I started Batch Render running, it saved, began rendering the first frame and then Maya crashed. It was able to save a .mb version as it was closing. I have since been unable to get either file to open correctly.
If I try to directly open the files, they load 100%, the status bar immediately switches to "Writing <username>.20110503.<time>.ma" and the Crash Reporter appears before the viewport can even update and show the model.
If I try importing either file into a new document, it will load completely, and a dialog window pops up with: Could not save file"/var/folders/FL/FLo7J2o4H4OV9SDiREDU4U+++TI/-Tmp-/thompirson.20110503.1216.ma".
If you click OK, Maya crashes without the Crash Reporter opening.
I have problems loading a max file. The file has several containers with external content, and it started crashing on load after I created those containers.
I tried merging the file into an empty scene, and it works if I merge everything but the containers. I also tried merging the containers alone, and that makes it crash.
I need/want to use containers, because the scene is very big, and can be quite challenging to handle. I could try using X-refs instead, but I was hoping to use containers, since it seems like a good solution in theory at least!
I've found an issue with 3ds Max 2012, when I open/upgrade my 2011 scene, max will crash immediately and every time. I used a 'binary search' approach to figure out what part of my 2011 file/scene was failing to import by exporting half of it, importing it and seeing if it crashed, if so, I'd split that half in half again and repeat until I got down to the offending object. I managed to get down to a single Loft object, which when exported (Save As > Save Selected) just on it's own would cause 2012 to crash on opening it.
It's not a biggy for me as I can just delete the offending object and carry on.
I'm not quite sure why there isn't a try-catch block around the entire import/load file function inside 3ds max, so that if/when max exceptions it won't bring down the entire application? I guess making this a safe transactional operation would be fairly difficult.
I am in paperspace applying dimensions to views. When making a new Mview and scaling the view all the diensions move to locations all over the drawing. Does something selected in the options I am not aware of?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Civil 3D 2012 and seem to have a reoccurring problem with the text styles changing. At the start of the day, I will open my drawing and find that my text style has changed and I am not sure what is causing this. I check my text styles and none of my settings has change nor has the text style. Nothing seems to fix the problem other than running a repair of the system.
