View 2 RepliesThere is a font and table style called "Legend" that is automatically generating and can not be purged.
I have looked through all the start up files, all the lisp files and can't find anything that would be creating them!
They appear in any file I open, new or old and even if I open a template file.
I have attached a file that should be empty but you will (or should) see both a font and table style called "Legend".
(FYI I am running AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 as AutoCAD 2010)
I have a text style called standard2 in a drawing, I put all text whether it be in blocks, dimensions, mtext, dtext everything into the style I want. Purge the drawing which gets rid of the style, save it, close it then reopen. I then get Standard style reset, existing objects moved to standard2 and now the standard2 style is back in the drawing. This problem is only affecting some drawings and not all drawings.

They look different.
What is the difference between 'Regular' and no font style.
How do I acheive the 'blank' font style instead of Regular?
I'm using Autocad 2013 and have problems when I want to copy some text from Word file. I'm doing that because translating text, which is translated already in Word. I.e., I have a text written in English in Autocad and now I have to select it all, and paste text copied from Word. It changes color (now it's "by Block"), but I change it back to "by Layer; and changes it's style even if in Word it is the same style as in Autocad (it is Arial in Word and in Autocad, but when I paste copied text it is in Times New Roman.
Is there anything to set up not to change this text, because I have a lot of copy/pasteing to do and would save me a lot of time?

I am working on a Global Company Civil 3D template. We had about 10 people initially working on creating it and now I am cleaning it up.
Unfortunately we have a Text Style being used somewhere within our template that we want to get rid of.
Are there any tools or methods to be able to find this Text Style?
I have personally gone through all the dialogue boxes trying to find it an cannot.
I'm having difficulty making a change to multiple texts. I received a drawing from another firm that uses different text styles than my firm. I can change all the text styles to mine, but they all hold onto their original fonts. How to change the fonts in multiple instances.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe're transitioning from ACA2012 to ACA2014. I'm also trying to get away from putting my blocks in DesignCenter and having our users insert Annotation (tags) from the Ribbon bar.
When I insert our door tag (or any schedule tag) from the ribbon bar, it is automatically changing the text style to the current text style. I'd rather it just use the style built into the tag. I know that can be controlled in the Designcenter content (right-click) - but how do I change that from the ribbon bar?
I got a work that I have to change around 1200 drawings from Microsoft Visio to AutoCad 2009. One annoying thing is that the Visio drawings got Arial as text style and my company want everything in their own textstyle. So at the moment I single click all text bar and change the style, there must be a faster way to fix this.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a drawing that was converted into cad and it seems like every dimension has its own style. When I copy use the move comand or try to change the dimension the text changes from being above the dimension line to centered and the text gets closer together horizontally. When I compare a copied dimension to the original it has all the same properties including the text pos vert still being above text. The actual dimension style hasn't changed at all but what is showing up on screen is different.
Here a image showing three dimensions with the same properties, the top 2'-10" is what it should look like, the bottom is what it looks like when I copied it and the 1'-2" is when I make a new dimension.
im my current coding project im attempting to change the font stlye of 1 text item
i tried used the simple method of
(command "STYLE" "simplex" "ARIAL" "" "" "" "" "")
however, using this changes the text's font in the whole drawing
i searched the forums here and everything i found either didnt work or changed all the text.
is there a more elegant way of doing this with just a selected text item and not the text in the whole drawing?
I am trying to produce a slideshow in LR3 of a series of travel shots. Problem is that I want to insert a nice caption to each individual shot showing the place, country etc etc.
It seems the only way to do this is to enter the caption initially in the Metadata in the Library module and then select " Captions " in the Custom text box in the Slideshow module.
My problem is that I hate the clunky big white text that shows on the slideshow. I cannot seem to find anywhere where I can change this to a nicer text font, style and colour. You can change the style text in the text overlay panel but that then applies to the whole slideshow. I need a nice individual caption for each shot.
I'm doing subtitles for a documentary, and find myself wanting to change the font style in many clips at times. I know, I could start with a prefect template and copy that one over sequences, but in practice I find that you end up changing your mind mid-way about the specifics.
Coming from FCP, I remember there was a way to do this via an XML readout of the sequence (doing a "find and replace" query). Is there anything similar in PP? Or maybe even easier? An extension?
Anything that let me avoid clicking on hundreds of clips to change the style individually.
I am really confused on an Annotative Text style issue. I have a blank drawing and i need to set up an annotative text, dimension and multileader style. So i started with the Text Style.
Now i would like the annotative text size to be 2mm, Arial standard. However whenever i try to do this, it changes my 2mm to 3mm which is not what i am after.
Is there some limitation to the font or is this AutoCAD error or am i just trying to do something odd.
I have some custom texts that I use. A week or two ago they started showing up looking different and certain symbols like ' weren't showing correctly (they were displaying ? instead).
When I went into Text Style, sure enough the style being used was pointing to a file that either didn't exist or wasn't the proper format. An example is that my HS text was pointing to the Font Name HS.TTF instead of Helvetica 53 Extended which is installed as one of my Windows Fonts. When I changed the Font Name to Helvetica 53 Extended everything looked okay again.
My problem is that even after hitting apply to this change and closing the Text Style form when I open a new drawing HS text is set back to HS.TTF and not displaying properly. How do I go about permanently changing this value back to what it should be, and how did it get changed in the first place?
How do I set the default text style? there must be a global setting in Options or something similar, I know I can set in a Template, but is there a global setting somewhere?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn the old versions of autoCAD I could select everything in the drawing and use the text style pull-down to select the text style I wanted all of the existing text to be and it would change it when the style was selected. Is there not a way to do this in AutoCAD 2011 without using the quick select feature in the properties dialog box?
I solved the same problem with dimensions by turning the dimension toolbar on but the text toolbar doesn't have the style as an option on it.
I wonder if it is possible to create a new text style where one can set the text to be already rotated.
I know that it is possible to rotate text in many ways but the styles always seem to be set on the horizontal to begin with.

Is there a way to change the text styles, lets say from "Standard" to "Romans", all at once within an attributed block, or do you have to update each tag attribute individually?

View 3 Replies View Relatedi've been plaing with my CUI and found there were a lot more visual styles than i thought so added a few to the dashboard to try out. trouble is, a few have similar names and the same icon and now my realistic that i liked is not available.
now it's kinda semi-transparent.... before it was totally opaque. the same with my 'conceptual'...i can see far too much geometry.
btw i don't have a personal CUI or whatever the procedure is....i just modify the main one when inclined.
i've made a toolabr with ALL the listed visual styles on it and gone through them all but none of them gets it back to the opaque version.
^^^ this is in model space only. viewing from paper space it's the same as it always was.
I've wrriten a script that will create custom annotative scales and a new text style. (It works fine up to that point) The next steps I'm trying to add to the script is to select a text object, set it to the new style, make it annotative and add all of the annotative scales to that text object. CHPROP allows me to make the text object annotaive but I haven't found a command that will let me change the style or add annotative scales to the text object. Any commands I can use in a script to do this ? (or know if this is even possible)? I have 2000+ drawings I need to run this one, I hope I can find the commands to script this with.
